One last word of advice. From a guy who's been doing this about 12 years. If you have to buy electronic stuff for gold recovery, like on ebay. Don't, you will loose your shirt. I work with a salvage company, I get everything for free and split the recovery. Just picked up about 30 lbs of gold plated pins. Might be 2, 3 or even 6 months before I see any more. I look at ebay and I'm blown away by the prices. Don't be a sucker, it's not worht what they want. Not even close. You can easily spen 100 and only get 10.
try using sulfuric acid dilluted 50% with distilled water and sodium nitrate , go slow with the nitrate , its faster and fairly cheap , use heat on the thicker pins
I was curious about the fact that you were getting a nice amount of product .After watching a 1/2 dozen of scraping gold from electronic’s . Okay I’ll just have to say you started with nice pins and prices. I liked your video the best, the clock was a nice touch. I myself like to tinker and in the past couple years I have about ten pounds of which I would like to say is quality I use mostly for repair and innovation adapting parts for my entertainment also. So I was thinking of selling off some of my stuff, I came across videos using the different process’s. I just don’t know if I want to part with my parts unless the price goes up or, And getting the most out of all the work. I’d like to give it a try one day.
you will lose a fair amount of flash plated gold using coffee filters , let your filtered solution sit for a couple days and you will see it settle on the bottom as a black film , decant and process that as well
BIG NO NO, DO CUT THE PIN, the steel piece you see is separate from the gold pin, under that is still gold plating, looking inside you will see, common mistake
Why everyone still uses peroxide beats me. Y'all know it does dissolve some of your gold. Use only half and low heat. Or in sun but takes away longer. Or just add half old ap and half fresh muriatic acid. Still great video
Good observation! The true answer is I decided at the end of the first day to double the amount, at the same ratio. My hope was to speed up the process, but I don't think I really gained much time by using the extra acid solution, likely just a waste. Thanks for watching.
thanks for the easy step by step instructions....well done
Glad to help. I hope everyone benefits from the video.

@@jgvv777 huh?
under all that stainless steel you cut off is more gold pin , if you use 2 pairs of side cutters you can remove the entire gold pin
Yea this guy a noob, using ap on heavy plating come on.
What do you mean two pairs of side cutters? I havent come up with a good way of removing the stainless yet,
Seems to me there was a step or two missed, from beginning to one day later the jar went from half liquid to almost full what's that about.

Класс👍👍👍
Is it the same process for platinum?
Да
👍
👍
Does it matter if the pins are magnetic or not
Имеет😊
Yes
Add some lighting next time you do this because I can't see nor probably anybody can see what you're doing or what it looks like

Never use AP, make poor mans nitric, omg this guy is clearly a newbie.
Very nice methodu
Electrolisis reverse electroplating works cheaper just saying
jar is full-did you add each day? if so at same ratio?

I can't add ap to mine because I used all my peroxide on my booboos
Перекись это фигня.
You keep saying that you have gold in the jar after filtering. WRONG!!! What you have is a gold alloy of maybe 10-15 percent. Don't mislead people.
Nice video. You are creating a lot of waste though. Reuse the filtered liquid, this will help keep your wastes low. Still a good clear video.
