Building on Habit #1, here's one of our recent podcast episodes that answers the question, "What Should I Be Reading?" @t . It will shed additional light on this important prep tip and provide you with specific examples of the types of additional reading that will help prepare you for test day. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the "express gratitude" habit. It allowed me to realize that I am lucky to have the opportunity to take the test and go to graduate school. I have been dwelling over this test for three years, and what you said in the video will help me become confident in order to overcome it.

There are thousands of stuff available online especially on UA-cam.....but many never talk about how emotionally you have to commit yourself to a exam which seems extremely hostile to you. I am from India and trust me all the exams we give in our lifetime here forces us to gain a kind of knowledge that we would never get to use in our lives again, however GRE so different, I am actually loving it now, preparing for it is fun and will serve me well later also. And thank-you very much for such a light hearted and meaningful video on GRE that has ever been made. All the best for channel.

do you know someone who can proof my GRE practice writings?

You're welcome, I'm glad you found it helpful. I provide feedback on practice essays for students who sign up for one of my courses, but I don't know of anyone who does that as a stand-alone service. One thing you can do is compare your essays to some of the template responses on the ETS website: www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/analytical_writing/issue/sample_responses. That'll give you an idea of what a high-quality essay should look like. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for the amazing video. Also, can you suggest some good books for gre?

You're welcome. I'm glad you found it helpful. The book I assign practice problems from in my course syllabus is The Official Guide to the GRE: amzn.to/3jNplfa. It does an okay job of teaching concepts, but its real benefit is the fact that it's the only book on the market with real former GRE questions. Between that book at my video lessons + practice worksheets, you'll have everything you need to dominate the GRE!

@@aryan.jain.28 Anything with big vocabulary! If you want something fun, try Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle) or Edgar Allen Poe. Ken Follett also uses a pretty rich vocabulary. And of course any of the classic American authors like Mark Twain, Nathaniel Hawthorne, etc.

@@aryan.jain.28 But of course there's no substitute for working tons of real GRE sentence completion questions. And in my course, I provide a list of the Top 400 common GRE words as well as provide lots of strategies for getting right answers even if you don't know what certain words mean.
