FINALLY!!! A Reddit relationship story that sounds real. Anyway, my guess is that the people in this story aren't American. Because outside of America, many countries see it as a shame and embarrassment for the "Family" if the girl has a child outside of marriage AND she is a single mom. My guess is that the family bragged to everyone they could get to listen about this girl and threw it in everyone's faces, boasting about how great she (and by proxy her family) was. She was probably the 1st in the family to go to college. They only contacted the ex-boyfriend because they wanted to set him up! I bet they were planning to tell everyone that he was the real father instead of the her getting pregnant by a one-night-stand. They also were mainly after him because (again) he has prestige being a college student and, therefore, a future upper-middle-class person unlike the college drop-out real baby daddy.
