A couple seasons ago this could have been a debate in which either side was valid, but since the end of the 22/23 season this isn’t even a question. Gabriel is CLEAR

Argentina didn't win the world cup due to their defensive brilliance, they conceded alot of goal during that tornament, it was the attach that carried them all the way. Don't forget Gabriel as been great before Arsenal, he won the French league with best defence while PSG was hot

So funny that Gabriel and Romero both took it upon themselves to clear up this debate in the match. Romero's horrendous defending allowed Gabriel to score the match winning goal and Gabriel showed the best defensive performance all defenders on the pitch.
This isn't even a debate at this point. Romero is not on the same level as Gabriel. Being Argentine don't necessarily make him automatically better. No CB has scored more goals than Gabby!

Cos they're talking individually. You can credit that mostly to their partners in the backline/system.
Romero won the world cup with Argentina being one of their best players while Gabriel can't even start for brazil and hasnt won a major trophy in the top 5 leagues.
So you are weighing 6-7 games of international football higher than 40-60 games of club football?
Nobody wants to take away what romero has done for his country but when him being good legit has nothing to do with what he's done at spurs it's surprised me that spurs fans stick with the logic.

Romero is a better defender than Gabriel, with how suicidal the Spurs high line is, I think it’s fair to say he’s done a good job. Would be smashing it if he played in a system like Arsenal’s.

Romero is responsible for conceding 3 goals this season alone. He is not a better defender than Gabi, and even though he’s a better passer he doesn’t score as many goals as Gabi either.
@@PeriodikI’m not even sure he’s a better passer. Gabriel opens up the LW on a consistent basis with his through balls to Martinelli and Trossard. On the ball, very underrated.
