i bought retrowerk r-16. word cannot express my satisfaction. the brilliant german engineer focoused on these factors: strong, heavy duty, accurate, maintenance free, superb mechanical design (rotation dial- no hands), no complicated functions. perfect in its simplicity ! . this watch is precisely what i need- nothing less -nothing more. best to wear the watch on right hand because the crown is a bit protruding.
The watch is perfect. Out of all of my casual automatic pieces I enjoy wearing this one the most. I get a lot of compliments and questions about it when people notice it. Once in a blue, when i pull the crown out to adjust it it makes this weird grinding feel and the time dosent move.. it scared me at first but like i said its very rare when it happens and it has not affected the watch in any way. I am also not sure if this is common or only with my piece
Does the crown get in the way a lot when bending the wrist back (cause friction, callous skin)? How noticeable is the weight of the watch after half a day of wearing it? Thanks.
Mushamir Mustafa , yes the compass works but you need to unscrew it because there is som magnetic disturbances if it is attached on the watch, the north pointer always points to the left side of the watch when it is attached or screwed in the watch.
Yeah mine also came in a crappy wooden box that looks like a mini shipping container. looks silly when you think of the price of the piece. dissapointing indeed. but the watch is amazing to own.
