it's always a benefit to the seller to ask higher, knowing the buyer is going to offer lower. Can still take a hit and meet at a lower offer while still getting roughly what you really want for it. A big problem you see with a lot of people on shows like this is they lowball the first offer and get offered way under it. Rick knows how to haggle, the customers don't always know the tricks. But in the end a pawn shop is not the place to be selling valuable or rare items, it should be done either at an auction or listed for sale where collectors can contact the seller with offers. Very likely that is why they go on tv shows to show the item and get the expert in to say it's the real deal, so when they do sell later they have an expert appraisal as evidence.
I'm a huge Tesla admirer, but he was not the inventor of Alternating Corrent. That distinction goes to Ottó Bláthy and William Stanley Jr. What Tesla did was his work on the alternating current (AC) induction motor which he got a patent on and earned him a considerable amount of money.

@@toohdvaetihom7088 Actually not always and i can proof it. There is episode about Nintendo games and "expert" is actually "expert" from known verify company. But the seller in that episode was requested to come "try sell" his valuable nintendo game in that episode.
Rick didn't know that Roberto Clemente and Addie Joss were both just shy of the 10 year mark to get in the hall of fame. Clemente died in a plane crash and Joss died of meningitis. Both were inducted in the hall of fame, iorinically Clemente before Joss in 1973 with Joss in 78.
Chumlee is the pride of this pawn stars show. Can't imagine this show without chumlee. I bet many people comes back to watch him.
Chumlee is great fun!
I'd love to try it out 😂.
Can't stand anyone in this show but I love the items and experts telling the history on items
Imma tell you a little secret: 👀👀👀( looks around) *whispers*: the history of the items brought in to the store is the entire point of the show…
He would have paid $4,500 for that Zippo
Chummy is the star in this one: Whose Tesla & what's that!.
He's seen prototypes go for 3-4k yet goes in the shop asking for 10k... he knows Rick all too well.
it's always a benefit to the seller to ask higher, knowing the buyer is going to offer lower.
The guy with the Roberto Clemente shoes was a weirdo. Came in asking for 2,500 and then said he doesn’t want to “trade” these shoes for something as common as money? Wtf lol
He also said they were Pittsburgh yellow. Those def weren’t the color yellow
They drugs wearing off.
lol right, but he definitely would’ve traded for the amount he asked for
Mark from the Clark county museum doesn’t believe anything is legit unless he owns it 😂 really doing Rick favours out there!
Boba Fett is ‘literally the most famous’ STAR WARS character EVER?? Seriously doubt that. I’m not a Star Wars expert, but I disagree
I think he ment most beloved, boba fett is super popular, but darth vader and yoda are probably more famous
I mean he's pretty up there, but Dark Vader is by far the most popular character from statistics.
Yoda or Darth Vader definitely
@@btlv Yes, the well know character that is 'Dark Vader'.
As someone who isn’t a fan of Star Wars when I hear the name star was I instantly think of darth Vader and Luke skywalker and yoda. Most people who are regular folk who don’t give a crap about Star Wars never heard of bobba fet
You know there's not one show that Rick doesn't sigh a super heavy breath when he's buying something.... I just hope he always brushes his teeth..... 😂
Note to self; carry a paper tablet and wear a dress coat to convey professionalism when pawning something
The 100k for the Boba Fett I would do it. The market for that is tiny. I love Star Wars too.
Boss lighter guy
Boba sold at auction for $112K.
“Unknown to collectors until the mid 1990s was that there had been two types of rocket-firing Bobas - the L-slot with a firing mechanism resembling a backward L and the rarer J-slot design. While perhaps as many as 100 J-slot prototypes were made, most of the 20 or so survivors show the scars of heating, freezing and forms of stress testing.”
Things that haven't aged well: "Star Wars makes money."
That boba figure sold for over $230,000
"Priceless!"
Appraiser: *less than half the seller's hopes and dreams*
As soon as Rick called Steve in I know no deal was going to happen. Why call Steve in for a toy, Rick had his toy guys, so he know if his toy buddy came they would buy the Boba Fett right there and I also hear the seller got a good price in the auction.
