Daysite Dalton Part 2, Antler Direct Percussion

  • For this stage I did all the main thinning work with a small antler billet I swing in a freehand direct percussion fashion. I think it went pretty well all things considered. Sorry about the bad camera focus sometimes.

      Thanks so much Flintknappingtips, I really appreciate it. I learned a lot from you over the years. Whenever I have the camera on autofocus it sometimes focuses on the ground too much, but then if I fix the focus I can't bring the piece up to the camera for the close shots, such a dilemma...

    I guess I'll have to create a pile of chips at my new home. My old place has a pile about as large as yours. Murpheys law certainly applies to knapping. If something can go wrong, it will.

      Oh for sure, a home isn't complete without at least one big pile of flakes! That pile was just about a year's worth, and I don't knap as much as I used to. I have buckets of flakes all over the place, can't seem to let them go lol.
