As a long time builder of Lego sets, I'm no stranger to the multicolored interior building process nor really bothered by it as the final build normally will hide the rainbow variety of parts. Normally a bigger fan of tanks, but these Cobi warships are absolutely epic in detail/scale. May heave to build one at some point.

Even though she did pull a Titanic (end up in 2 halves)...this audience is under allied historical books with no context for why she blew up, otherwise, most the Brits here would be p*ssed at Churchill for not prioritizing those retrofits before sending her & Coward of Wales at the two vessels. It was ultimately better to track by air (despite lack of aerospace sciences at the time) to see what happens. Maybe even, the RAF could have foundered Bismarck while she was at port. Or even just left her alone to deal with the Iowa's...or USS South Dakota.
@@BattleshipOrion I mean the Prince of Wales couldn't really stand up to the Bismarck AND Prinz Eugen alone. Especially with like 7 of her guns broken (because the quad turrets were untested and kept malfunctioning)
I hope when they make a Prince Of Wales model, they give us the option to turn it into King George V or The Duke of york. Like what they did with the Iowa class.
I made a prediction on the Prinz Eugen video saying that we need Hood and Prince of Wales. We had Bismarck, then got Eugen and Hood, wouldn’t be too surprised if we got a KGV. Though a Nelson class (HMS Rodney) would be cool too
@@Alpha_627 I personally would like more air-craft carriers, since we only have the two. Maybe Ark royal or one of the many Japanese carriers like Akagi. But before any of that, we need a re-run of the Yamato.
@@rebbeccadickson6099 I agree, definitely a Royal Navy carrier and an IJN one too, someone made their own Shokaku class carrier already. The Yamato and Iowa sets were really popular, especially when sold with the World of Warships collaboration thingy. Maybe next time we could see a possibly revised Yamato sold again because of its popularity?
i am not a big fan of ships but damn the hms unicorn vomit looks pretty nice once its fully assembled. the thing with the broken parts happened to me a few times too - annoying yes, but at least getting replacement parts from cobi was never an issue. as always very nice video, keep it up! :D
Looks nice, only real disappointment with the set was the usage of AA gun pieces as the 4" guns. It's not like the pieces for it didn't exist, both Warspite and Belfast have them.

@@randomcanadian1945 yes this is true as her armour is almost equivelant to HMS Queen Elizabeth class battleships and some parts of her amour were even thicker than Bismarck's armour. She was classified as a battlecruiser because she had very high speeds at the time of completion.
I've just bought the HMS Hood to accompany my Bismarck model, and I doubt if it will look nearly as good. When it comes to visual impact, the Bismarck blows the Hood clean out of the water! ;-)

My initial impression was that there looks to be a bit more detail on the Bismarck model than on the Hood model. Although I still haven't built the Hood model because I just don't have enough room to display it. That is also goes for the my USS Enterpise carrier & JN Yamato models. I would love to buy the Tirpitz, Missouri & Iowa Class battleship models, but they are quite expensive and I would still have the issue about where to display them. I've since built the KMS Graf Spee aircraft carrier model and that looks fantastic. 😀
I was very sceptical at getting this modle,as it wasn't lego.But i bought it and i have just finished building it.i must say it looks amazing im glad i got it.iv now just ordered the Bismarck.the Hood is an amazing model when finished.i recommend it to anyone out there like me who was hesitant.its amazing.had a few hiccups building her.but god she looks amazing.

I kinda like all the colors. It gives you a greater selection of parts if you would ever disassemble the model for a moc that isn’t a military based model
In another channel it was made clear, that no one will ever disassemble a COBI ship due to the clamping strength. Also regarding the instruction style, the colors are useless and most likely irritating.
Who is that going to be, building something in these colors (if Cobi could be disassembled, anyway)? There is a very simple reason why everyone in the brick-building community hates these color disasters inside Lego and now this one Cobi sets: no one wants these colors and these bricks just drive up the prices for actually desired pieces on bricklink. This stupid cost-cutting measure (for Lego at least, for Cobi it just was an experiment hopefully not repeated) costs all the actual fans dear money.

Die Farben würden mir den Bauspaß hart ruinieren. Lieber hab ich ein zwei Fehler in der Bauanleitung (die man ohne Probleme beheben kann) als die Farbseuche ^^' Ich kann mir die Hood aus diesem Grund auch nicht kaufen. Glück für alle, die sie trotzdem bauen konnten :)
There is no competition between the two. LEGO (though having more direct ties to the conflict) is now a Disney collectible company, with piss poor alternate choices. COBI is where the quality is.

She WAS a nice ship. To bad she did not get her retrofits, then maybe she would have not foundered under Bismarck's (Or Prinz Eugen's) fire. Though WTF the higher ups where thinking then makes both foundings (Bismarck & Hood) unreasonable losses, despite current problems. Supposedly (though I may be wrong) they raised her bell.

The HMS Hood being longer than Bismark is accurate. She was 860 ft long while Bismark was about 828.

Lego doesn't have any military sets
They don't do that to decrease the price of the set, but they do it to increase their profit.

Battle and heavy cruisers are not the same thing. Battle cruisers are much closer to a battleship than to a heavy cruiser

Die Bunten Farben im inneren sind ja furchtbar. Da hat Cobi bestimmt einen Lego Designer abgeworben. Und der kann natürlich nur mit bunten Steinen bauen. Wenn sie das ganze jetzt noch auf die anderen Modelle ausweiten dann gute Nacht.

She WAS a nice ship. To bad she did not get her retrofits, then maybe she would have not foundered under Bismarck's (Or Prinz Eugen's) fire. Though WTF the higher ups where thinking then makes both foundings (Bismarck & Hood) unreasonable losses, despite current problems. Supposedly (though I may be wrong) they raised her bell.
