      Can you do a diorama of the famous P&O Oriental passenger ss ORIANA cruise ship that be cool. She was built in the late 1950s and has a corn yellow 🟡💛 hull with a green 💚🍏 and red ♥️🍒 bottom.
      I think a simple diorama of an old steamship sailing would nice.
      Sort of a happy seen of the ORIANA and the vessel ss Canberra sailing together both ships of the P&O Oriental Line.

      Oooh I know of an idea of a great diorama RAISE THE TITANIC! Based on the 1980s movie that depicted the ship being brought up from the depths of the ocean floor. With the no# 2 funnel cracked off with a little bit of rust and worn paint 🎨🖌️.

    INCREDIBLE, the best ship building and diorama I have ever seen. I have been a model builder since before time began - only aircraft 1/72 1/48, and have trouble detailing a 1/72 cockpit. You put this together with surgical precision. I can't imagine how the manufacturers mold this small a scale. This would take Best of Show in any contest around the world. Congratulations on such excellent skill. The finish dioroma is a homage to the bravery of both crews, especially the HMS Hood who only had three survivors

    RIP the 3,500 souls who served on, and died in battle with these two unforgettable fighting ships. The loss of Hood brought the British nation to standstill. A fantastic diorama worthy of the event, very well done sir.

    • @snakeplissken1754
      @snakeplissken1754 7 місяців тому

      Sadly the 3500 souls rest on whoever had the smart idea to send this way inferior ship against such a superior foe, sure it wasn´t alone but the other ship and it´s new quad barrel design made it probably even more useless. They pretty much send a totally overhyped ship, in terms of capability, that was the "pride" of the navy for show, to attack the newest state of the art battleship that existed to that day. Such incompetence by high command is just one of many cases that costs thousands of lives cause some inept brass made a decision.
      Nowadays equivalent of sending a t72 to take out a m1a2 Abrams.

    i like the diorama but we need to talk about major building failures on the Bismarck. First , only turret Anton was without 10,5 m range finder. Second the funnel roof is wrong! need a 180 degree turn :D and third, the airplanes placed on the wrong spot, they need to stay in hangar or on the katapult in the middle, you use the space which are normaly used by the small boates . And as a improvement, you can turn the 3 big range finders to the enemy direction, would be more realistic

    The camouflage pattern you sprayed on Bismarck is a little incorrect. This pattern was applied only during her stay in norwegian fjords. Before she left for the Atlantic, it has been painted over with grey, Only small white stripes near the waterline remained. 7:50 in the video: you misplace the main turrets. Turret A didn't have the hoods for the rangefinders on its side. They had been removed completely due to seawater coming ito the turret in heavy seas. All other 3 turrets had these rangefinders. The large cranes where not swept backwards when they were not in use. When not in use they were swept towards the bridge, where they were locked in place. And the planes were also never positioned there.
    The alignment of the Hood in relation to Bismarck is als historically a bit inaccurate. Hoods Bow was aligned more towards Bismarck. Hood was unable to bring her aft turrets to bear, because Hood and Prince of Wales tried to close the distance, thus the Bismarck was crossing the T, firing full broad sides, while Hood and Prince of Wales could only fire with their bow turrets. Hood was about to make a turn, so her aft turrets could come to life in this battle. But right about when she was turning she blew up.
    I wished I could do such a diorama with my models. But they are in a 1:200 scale and I don't have enough space for such a big diorama.
    And I am surprised how detailed these small scale kits are.
    Despite my criticism I really like the end result and I could watch such videos for hours on end.

    Great work!
    Just a quick correction here, you show Bismarck's B and C turrets firing together, which is historically inaccurate. Standard German salvo patterns were firing both forward turrets together, followed by both aft turrets a few seconds later to a slightly different range. Thus, you have 2 separate half-salvoes producing 2 clearly separate impact fields, which helped find the range very quickly. This is one of the reasons why Bismarck had 4 twin turrets, redundancy being the other one.

    • @noepictalesmember1865
      @noepictalesmember1865 8 місяців тому +2

      This is only correct for the rage finding phase. Once the target is "locked" the artillery officer can decide to use full or part salvos. In this Case Korvettenkapitän Adalbert Schneider used full Salvos to barrage Hood. I read it in the book of Burkard Freiherr von Müllenheim-Rechberg. He was 4th artillery officer and heard all the commandos for the shooting.

    "We gotta find the battleship, whats making all the fuss, we gotta sink the Bismark cuz the world depends on us! So hit the decks a'runnin, lads and spin them guns around, we'll find the bloody Bismark, and then we'll cut her down." -Sink the Bismark, Johnny Horton

    This is going to be a tricky one. I was wondering if you could do a diagram of the burning of the Seawise University, the former Queen Elizabeth and a follow-up of her burnt out capsized wreck

    Bei dem Gefecht mit der Hood in der Dänemarkstraße hatte die Bismarck diese Tarnbemalung nicht mehr. Diese war für die Ostsee gemacht und wurde in Norwegen später übermalt.

      Zudem hat er leider mit dem weathering etwas übertrieben. SO abgeranzt sah die Bismarck definitiv nicht aus. Dafür war sie nicht lange genug auf See. Auch die Bemalung der Bordflugzeuge (viel zu helles Grün) und der Schornsteinkappe (original schwarz/anthrazit) ist nicht korrekt. Zudem ist die Kappe auch noch falsch herum angeklebt. Wenn man ansonsten derart akkurat und sauber arbeitet, sollte man solche Kleinigkeiten beachten. Ansonsten - eine spitzenmäßige Leistung!

    Great result ! But…Bismarck had painted over the black and white hull camo patterns before leaving Norway . Also the first turret , Anton , had the external rangefinders removed after sea trials as bow spray rendered them useless . Agree also with comments on the funnel . Cheers .
