Mia Morris - No One Cares (Official Music Video)

  • The video concept for No One Cares was entirely inspired by Cake’s official music video for, Short Skirt / Long Jacket. I’m a huge fan of the band Cake, (even more than the food) and I highly recommend you check out the band, the song, and most everything else they’ve released. They are talented, clearly have a sense of humor, write great hooks, and are gloriously unique.
I must admit, I was slightly disappointed I couldn’t get more negative feedback to make this video as entertaining as Cake’s production; but I so appreciate the positive feedback (even though it may have had more to do with finding an especially friendly/open-minded group of people that were actually willing to participate.) I was insistent that the music wasn’t my own and that I just worked for a marketing company; but southern folks, and apparently even southern tourists, are generally pretty polite to strangers around Music City :)
This song has been written for awhile and even though I always wanted to release it, there never seemed to be an obvious time to set it free. I always appreciated how this song was allowed to go wherever it wanted to musically and the heavy use of trombones, (courtesy of Roy Agee) was the icing on the Cake :) I was not surprised that people struggled to pin down a genre for this song which is the sort of thing that terrifies a lot of record labels but it makes me love it even more. Lucky for me, I don’t have to ask a label which songs they want to release.
I’m 18 years old and I’m a professional musician, songwriter & artist based out of Nashville. I play lots of instruments but the ones that I’m hired to play most often are drums, cajon, and bass. I’ve been posting music related videos on UA-cam since I was 9 years old and began playing professionally at 14. I’ve always loved music and I’m grateful that it’s also become how I now make a living. This channel started as a combination of my fascination with drums and UA-camrs, and it’s now turned into a much larger music and music business diary. My goals haven’t changed all that much over the years and stay pretty simple. I’d love to keep making music and hope to keep getting better at it.

I just watched/listened to "Don't Get Me Started." I think I saw where your credits said that Mia M. creates these productions mostly by herself. I can't say that this is a new art form, but I will say that it's feels like a new perspective on it all that is more than creative. It isn't easy these days for 'pop culture' to engage me in a meaningful way, in a way I can sort of, perhaps, share a perspective. Making a video, "No One Cares", as consumer research is beyond inventive even if that wasn't your intention. You aren't in this alone. If no one is there for you your work wouldn't find much resonance. It is there, creative and provoking, and I hope you persist until your generation 'discovers' you, though you know where you are. Bonne chance, Mia Morris.

I had the pleasure of traveling Mia's Vlog highway. It was rewarding. A small part of it I've seen and heard 5-6 times. I seem to always find something new to enjoy in the music. I cant just let it pass me by. It's part of my professional nature to analytically examine the levels, or strata, in things. So now I'll leave the enjoyable video behind and attend solely to those many hours of audio. I have the mind of a neophyte when it comes to music. Perhaps that's an advantage. I don't know. I guess that if at some point in this laborious process I end up tossing my computer through the window out onto the lawn I'll realize that MiaMiaM & her friends and mentors will have driven me crazy. Nevertheless, I have heard music in these vlogs that has given me pause; music that seems to come from an unknown place in the musical firmament. My reward is that I will remember it should I hear it again. I'm certain that what I hear on UA-cam will have no affect on Mia, Google or the AI that will soon rule the world. I'm a poor sample of one, so I hope Mia doesn't attempt any form of advertisement to raise her profile. All those good things come from practice and performance, I think, and her public will let her know when she has passed the many starred gate.

Few can pull-off a genre hybrid and keep it tasty. The arrangement and mix down - top shelf. At the bridge - that's where you sold me. Whenever you let loose and give your creativity both barrels, instead of trying to manufacture a "pop hit" that may appeal to the masses - Mia... you come out with a winner! I love this video, and the song is everything .. literally! So fun! I got to see the real premier at SS and loved it, but the trombone took it to the next level No Doubt. When you made the post where you tooted a trombone, was that when you were getting this horn part recorded by Mr Agee? I think you showed some brass potential there by the way.
Anyway this is such a cool song .. an "ear worm" if you will, and the video was very entertaining. Following your musical journey has been such a treat and I look forward to much more Mia Magic in 2023! Happy New Year to you and your family and all the fur babies. 🎉🎊 Cya sometime. 😁❤️😎

@Mia I saw your comment in the chat, hope you didn't mind me saying that? Please don't strive off from what you are doing, it's you and you're unique. Those were bands I grew up to while playing lead guitar in a death metal band. As a musician, we all develop those listening skills which we tend to relate ton others. From one musician to another, may I suggest a lyric change...you have this spunk in you and you would definitely sell it. At the bridge or the break down at the tempo change you say, "Right now, your so full of it." Nothing wrong with that but seemed your hiding behind what you really wanted to say with the feeling I was getting. In my head I heard with that spunk, "Right now, your full of shit!" 🔥🤘🔥 but that's totally up to you. Love the progress and keep up the great work. I see big things happening for you in 2023. 💯💯

I have to confess that I know nothing about music. I assume that if I like a song it must be great because I trust my judgement. You may not like your song all that much because you strive for your own perfection, and that's fine. As a popular song No One Cares went to the top of my small chart and I expect it will remain there. If it was published it could cause riots among people trying to get to your concerts.

This lack of disaproval and the disapointment there of is a hoot. Bring on that Trombone God from within if you so choose. and like everythng else you do in music, it will be amazing. No pedistal, as no one is perfect, but dang MIa, your music gets me every single time. I hope there are more originals to come with that Mia Morris freedom vibe added, meaning it could sound like anything at all, knowing full well if you release it, its woth hearing.
Thanks Mia for all you do the uplift the world of music
Happy New Year MIa, to you and all those important to you. Have a blast in 2023!!

Definition I looked up ....Genius (noun): someone who is extremely intelligent or extremely good at doing something. Think I'll write to them and suggest instead of using Einstein as their example they could replace it with "Mia Morris". Lordy you are so talented young lady. Have a peaceful and happy New Year and looking forward to following your journey in 2023 💕

Goodness Mia.. I've actually lost track of how many years I've been 'listening' to you.. I've always enjoyed your obvious serious, disciplined side, which you disguise well, by having fun.. I'm in Surrey England, and delighted that the chances of seeing you live are improving all the time.. So so glad you've managed to brilliantly self document (not forgetting Dad) your epic musical life journey.. Its so entertaining, and all really impressive.. No pressure; but I hope to enjoy your musical creativity and success for decades to come.. as long as your still enjoying it of course..Cheers 🥂 🙂

It's taken a few days to get into this one as it seems to be a completely different genre to your previous original material. I'm not a fan of either Country or Rockabilly (both of which were mentioned in the interviews). It's growing on me. You asked for an honest opinion... you just got one! BTW... it looks cold in Nashville! 🙃
