I've looked at at least a half dozen intros to moding in TTS. This is by far the best. Presentation is properly paced for learning. Examples are clear. The choice of topics covered is excellent. Highly recommended! Bravo!
you all prolly dont care but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Alden Aldo thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This was very helpful to me as I attempt to take my next steps toward actually finishing even one of my games and have it be presentable and playable once and for all. Thank you.
Thank you for this great overview! I could imagine digital prototyping being the new go-to way of building modern day board games. It's such an awesome tool!
Glad you found it useful! I plan on adding more videos to my "Prototyping in Tabletop Simulator" playlist, so let me know if there are specific topics you would like to see covered.
Really informative video! I'm pretty interested in learning about modding in TTS to implement unique mechanics like player hands, turn order, and other rules to prepare for online play.
I'm building up my own card games and figuring out the mechanics and what not. This is extremely helpful in playtesting especially since I'm still learning.
Thanks for this clear video ! This is the best I have found so far ! :) Would you mind doing another one explaining how to play the game ? Like adding a timer if possible, or a countdown, preparing sets or making things disappear during the game (like token we put back in a box for example).. or adding a new rule during the game ? Thanks a lot ! and take care :)
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll add implementing a timer to my list of possible videos. Making things disappear in the game is as easy as selecting them and hitting delete/backspace on your keyboard (or right-clicking the object and selecting delete). Note that only the host can typically delete components; for other players to have that capability you need to promote them by clicking their player name in the top-right corner and selecting Promote.
Thanks so much for this - I'm inspired now to finally take up game design. My obstacle in the past has always been the effort in obtaining all the little pieces I would need, but now the possibilities seem endless! Thanks again, and would love to playtest any of your designs if you're looking for people.
I'm glad you found it helpful, game design is a very rewarding hobby! Great piano playing by the way! I record some of my own playing for fun over on my personal channel: ua-cam.com/play/PLHHWJZFtH3jXHnXAS6Sh6alk4cNZ1F_EV.html
Great video. Did you create your car piece by scanning an existing car piece, or snipping an image? Plan on trying to making a ts game with an old micro game called hot spot. Thanks for your reply in advance
This is a solid intro tutorial at a good pace with good examples. However, your audio has an echoey mic sound (like it's coming out of two virtual speakers), which I find distracting.
I came here curious about the limitations of Tabletop Sim, to weigh the pros and cons of making something custom in a game engine versus setting up a module in Tabletop Sim. Can I control what is visible to the other players, who has the ability to move and control certain physics objects, and precise coordinates/weights of objects in real time?
I just found your TTS video series as I'm looking into prototyping, and this seems like a great option. However, I am collaborating on my design and was wondering if it is possible for two folks who have TTS/Steam to work on creating/reworking components within the same game, either at different times or simultaneously. Any wisdom to share on this? Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you for this! Do you know how to do automation/scripting? I'm just starting to consider transitioning into TTS (for prototyping--I've used it to play before) and I'm looking for resources on how easy/difficult some things are.
Great video, thanks ! I started prototyping on TTS thanks to this video... I have one issue with this pipeline though : when I want to get my friends to try my games I need to upload everything on the cloud, making it a hassle to update the assets afterwards. Is there a way to keep all the assets linked locally yet invite people to my games to try them ?
Hi there! Thank you so much for this video! I'm trying to build out our first game in TTS and this is super helpful! I was wondering if you could let me know what the name was for the program you mentioned using for laying out your cards in (and if there is a link to where to find it)? It sounded like you said "Nyan Deck" or something like that... but I couldn't find anything when trying to do a Google search for it, so I'm thinking I may have misheard that.
Hi there, I watched lots of your tutorial. They are very good, some time a bit too technical (but that it's). Do you know if there is a way in TTS to import your own Table???? Thanks
I am having problem. Can you help me to fix it. I try to import an image to make a tile in this app. But when i do it, the app suddenly get error and out
I know this is late but I also was having problems and I figured out that apparently if you export something as CMYK it just doesn't work so you have to export in RGB idk why but it works when you do it like that. I hope that clears some problems for you or any future people
Thank you for the video... Does programming on Tabletop Simulator is an actual job..? Do designers pay for TTS programmers for the purpose of creating a virtual model of their game?
Could you clarify? I am planning to get to some tutorials on scripting custom behavior, but usually rules in Tabletop Simulator aren't enforced anymore than if you were sitting with friends at a physical table.
@@LudoLodge I would like to learn about scripting. How to set up everything and how tabletop process's the code so rules of the game and game mechanics are automated.
It's an old video and I hope this has changed since but I figured I'd let you know still. The sound is delayed between both ears in this video. It really made it hard to watch it, especially with headphones.
Your analytics from what I can see is showing that you need to learn to get to the point faster; hopefully in the 4 years you learned how to get to the point.
You don't have to make your mods public if you don't want to, but any game you create is technically your intellectual property. I wouldn't sweat it, the board game industry is mostly filled with friendly folks and "stealing of ideas" is pretty much a non-issue. :)
This was a good tutorial, but man I gotta say smacking your lips before every sentence is extremely distracting and gets very annoying very quickly. I'm amazed I haven't seen any comments like this. Again, good tutorial, but it's extremely unprofessional
Haha... A Macbook ends up being the best tool for most of my computer needs, but indeed it can be an annoyance when it comes to anything gaming related.

So it is time! Tabletop simulator, I'm here to playtest with some awesome tutorial videos! thanks for the playlist how to prototype :)
Very cool! Don't know why it took so long to try this for prototypes, but I definitely will in the future.
Just found this and I'm very grateful! There will be questions as I go on. Thanks!
Thank you very much! I watched your Nandeck video where you suggested TTS as a playtest tool, I will be using this liberally. :)
Rewatching the series to implement my prototype now, thanks again!

I'd say the video starts here
This is exactly what I was looking for. Learning how to use this great tool step by step. Thanks for that.

Superb. I needed this video to explain concepts which are simple once you know them, but incomprehensible until then. :)
i know this video is old but i just wana let you know it still helps people :)

Massively helpful! Subbed!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep those topics in mind for future videos!
I don't see what this has to do with Text to Speech but ok.
You're the best man, this helped me a lot ☺
Great! It's easier to get into than I thought

Great intro video. I’m feeling pretty confident that I can use TTS with a little practice. Thanks

Nice intro. Been working on this and have already learned some stuff. Would be interested in Asset Library tutorial. Keep it up. Great work.
This was great and very useful. The think I need now is how to bring in 3D objects created in Blender or somewhere. I'm going to search for that now.
Nice introduction.
Thanks for the video!
Such a rad video, thanks!
Tabletopia is so much simpler. But I like the possibilities on TTS

We now have a Dog Eat Dog board game
such great tips! Thank you!

thank you, so much, thank you *breathes*
I made my very first game!
It's called Flip the Table.
