  • This new 3 in 1 insulating system is ideal for your basement renovation. Homega is created by Nudura (our favourite ICF manufacturer). Finishing off your basement with Homega is the answer to completing your project in less steps (it replaces insulating, framing & vapor barrier). Since Kody is a building science geek, he also likes that with Homega you reduce thermal bridging while creating a more comfortable space and to top it all off - it will save you money on your utility bills.

We’re the metal plates something you opted to use? Nudura doesn’t show that step in their videos. Thanks.

@@uptokode Yes I did. I wasn’t sure since this was an older video if you’d be notified about my question. Thanks!

I once did a basement reno using 1.5" foam boards right on the concrete. Spray foamed the top and bottom and tuck tape to seal 100% then framed 2x4 framing in front of the foam and insulting with r-12 batts. Lots of work but it was nice and dry and warm. Where do you run the electrical and outlet boxes must cause problem ?

The way you did yours does sound super cozy. Maybe not as streamlined as this system but definitely solid and worth the consideration!!
I will have a specific video on how we did the electrical. It’s similar to how we install it for ICF. Channel grooves for the wires, but we go behind the wood strips instead of cutting through them like we would in an ICF wall. Hope that helps.

@@uptokode It was a lot of work but this is what the customer wanted . We didn't have Homega back then or at least we didn't know about it . I'll watch for the vid on electrical. Thanks
