Yeah imagine having a bad cold or flu and a zombie outbreak happens and you trust some strangers then some fat dude with a bad hair do decides to try and murder you. Worse still a blunt trauma wound to the head wouldn't kill him, it'd seriously injure him, assuming it didn't glance and bury itself in his shoulder. A second shot still wouldn't assuredly kill him, at this point he would be having a seizure. By the third or fourth shot he would be drenched in blood, seizing, and agonal breathing, gasping and snoring loudly drowning in his own blood while this fat murderer with a mullet swings away. I truly hope that dude is on a watch list, the level of sociopathy there was immense.
Chloe takes the sleeping kid and puts him on the grass Me: (Sad) Hard to do this but I suppose it has to be done. Chloe: (Grabs Axe) Me: What the.. I was wondering whether Rycon was going to smother the kid with the bandana everytime he mentioned putting it over the boys mouth and nose.
I was just trying keep us safe in case he was coffing but also make him feel like he was part of the group, we all had things over our faces. We'll most of us
That was terrifying, the level of sociopathy exhibited by that dude with the bad hair do over that kid, my god. The kid probably had a cold or flu, too. And an axe to the forehead isn't a good way to kill someone clean - it would have led to a horrific, bloody, agonizing death of multiple blows in reality.
I don't know about in New Zealand but in Canada, due to modern light weight construction materials a house can be fully involved in three minutesand start collapsing in sometimes a little as fifteen minutes depending on the size of the house. Older houses with heavier materials take longer to collapse but still can collapse in less then half an hour. Also a grass fire of the size that you are describing can throw embers hundreds of meters or even kilometers if there is a high wind, it could easily have set that house on fire. P.S. I am on a volunteer fire department in a rural area so I deal with this quite a bit.
This is true everywhere. Generally speaking, a house fire is going to be beyond saving after about 3-5 minutes. The older the building the longer it takes for the fire to really pick up pace (modern synthetic matierials catch much easier, but burn at lower temps) but the hotter it will then burn, so all said and done a house built in 1930 and a house built in 2010 will both be nothing but a pile a smoldering rubble within about 15 minutes or so. This is all assuming without any kind of organized intervention from a Fire Dept. but yeah, seems unlikely during a zombie apocalypse. (Source: Been a Volunteer Firefighter since i was 18)
Can I just say that rycon should be appointed leader. Also, I think rycon was so messed up with the 9 year old was he saw how absolutely sick Chloe was, and he never saw a person with that much fear and terror in their eyes, he looked near physicotic.
That scene with Matt fucked me up. I listened to this ep late last night, which was a bad idea.. Haha! Poor kid.. :( And the worst part is that we don't even know if he was infected or not. What if he wasn't? :( I don't blame Chloe though, we all do what we think is for the best. Don't think I would have done that though.. Anyway, great episode and chapter! I love the psychological aspect of this game. :)
+dothedanceofjoy Yeah we did know for sure. He was tired from being awake in that car all night and the cough and sniffing could have been anything it just goes to show how panic and fear has gripped the world. I believe that Chloe was trying to so the right thing in her eyes but we just didn't know enough in mine. Everything in this game has repercussions though and I'm sure this will have some throughout
Congrats on 100k! Thoroughly deserved, kept me company for days of my life. Really enjoy the dice system on this game, the fact that you need to roll high without going over is very intense. A 100 is a critical fail unless you HAVE 100 in a skill, and then you're finally aiming for the stars. It's very rewarding for the punishing early game. More power to you mate, keep doing what you do.
This part with incorporating past Pen and Paper sessions that take place in the same universe as this session has reached new levels of meta I have never experienced before. lmao!
Goddamn Rycon, I wasn't prepared for such a psychological bender, especially Chloe going after Matt at the end. Knowing how much of a schism is growing within the group, and how damaged everyone is becoming mentally (except Jake, you heartless nutter =p), I can't help but be worried for everyone's well-being, and how they'll continue to degrade into something cold and twisted.
+Jacob Vance that's true but I think together we will hold each other to a standard. Even me in game being all messed up by this and knowing that I've lost my family I still didn't agree with Chloés actions and all these things ripple on we will see where it takes us
A greenhouse is a GREAT place for agri. needs. Grabbing a bunch of seeds for like berries would do great. But most of all you would hope it has books about farming and other agri stuff. One thing i would like to mention, a phone battery generally only lasts something like 3-4 days if not used more then a few minutes at a time. You can squeeze it to that 4th day if you dim the screen fully, but you need to find a way to recharge the those. Either figure out how to make a hand crack recharger (Good luck with that if you know NOTHING about electronics) a good idea would be to hit up a phone store if you do not think you can do that, most of them have batteries that are charged but that is .... not a priority. Chloe, don't listen to them. You had the right perspective here. Now there's just another fast child zombie roaming the hills looking to chomp on some innocent passerby. In any case, I would've liked to see that axe blow counted. I would have liked to have seen how that played out, and how it might've effected the dynamic of the group. And the whole meta aspect of having one of the gamers at the table going insane, setting fires across the countryside, carving cryptic messages into peoples foreheads while they're living before cutting them open to kill them after was interesting, and strange, and concerning...lol Excellent episode! Compelling enough for me to want to see more, so I'm looking forward to the next Chapter.
I won't lie, the fact that some parent left that poor boy alone upset me. I have a near five year old son, and if something like this ever truly happened, I would NEVER fucking leave him like that.
Exactly what I was thinking, I believe the must have been a reason they left I just can't understand it. Perhaps they where too far gone themselves and hoped that someone would find him, wish the situation could have gone better
See, even IF that happened to me, I would make sure that my son was with someone I could trust to keep him safe. I'd be sad as hell, but at least my child would be alive and NOT on his own.

The part of theory 3 that you mentioned, section D, I am going to respectfully disagree to a point. If this was taking place here in the US, then sadly most people ARE trigger happy. The news is conformation of that.
still hard for me to imagine a couple calmy approaching being shot, but i guess it is possible if they approached a person that's already freaked out and paranoid.. robbed before or after being killed is possible too.. i'm really excited to see the setting to be more like fallout or walking dead level of chaos and anarchy and how they'd adapt.

Watching this now because I wasn't in a good place to watch it at the time it came out. The problem: I... can't keep in mind who is who when they speak. Rycon I do know the voice of, but not when people refer to him by his normal name. Edit: I can't help but wonder if maybe some sort of compromise with the duct tape could've been found... not ideal, but would hold up both if he turned and could have been removed carefully. "Rycon,l have the supply list, water check, food check, weapons check, bleach check...what about this jockstrap with built in cup?" "Leave it,no need." "Ok,if your sure."
I think that those psychic wounds should partially heal to some extent over time... they are a bit too much of a penalty in my opinion. ... The kid escaping seemed a bit cheap to me. I think Chloe would have been more proficient at reaching and attacking the kid, the GM just did not make it possible, just an opinion though. I don't say that Chloe would have managed to kill it on one attack but I think Chloe was very decided and doing the actions pretty fast. So, not sure about how that should have been dealt by the GM, but I felt it was not straight/clear enough, details missing and as decided as Chloe was acting not so much time for that much reaction, maybe. ... Very nice anyways!! :)
I meant at the beginning when Chloe put the sleepy kid down and took the axe... In my opinion the events are not as clear, listen to her statement and then the GM.
Let's turn this around Rycon, how would you have acted? Imagine that it was you who wanted to take out the kid, swiftly and before the others could stop you. At least that's how I felt Chloe wanted to do it. You take the sleepy (sleeping?) kid and lay him on the ground, turn around, get your axe and swing it. Would you have succeded or not? to which degree? and why? ... Any details missing here? maybe, I did not get the picture well. ... Anyways, It's not a big thing, it is very tough to deal with tense situations. Intention of the player, how that person acts and what occurs, not easy to handle :P My point is that I felt the GM did not carefully considered Chloe's actions with the detail needed so that we could know how and what happens, and I felt that the GM wanted the kid to live/escape no matter what. No worries, it's no biggie! there will be a lot of tense situations difficult to handle for the GM, since you have different personalities. I think he is doing a fantastic job, but since I felt that way I brought it up. ... Keep up the good work and having fun!! well, tense fun!! ;P
I mean, I kind of understand why. I'm more pissed about the fact that the PARENTS of the child left him alone like that. If I knew I had been infected and was about to turn, I'd have someone that I trusted whole heartedly to care for my son. I have a near five year old boy, and the mere thought of him being alone without me, or anyone, fucking kills me.
Asha Hall I think Chloe went psychotic with the way she without hesitation was about to kill a 5 year old without knowing how it works. for all we know the kid could have just had a cold from being in a abandoned car for who knows how long and just needed medicine. Also we don't know what type of zombies these are the bite ones, the last of us ones,
1:02:31 halls.md/chart-boys-height-w/ Height from the hip down of a 5 yo would be around 19.5 to 23 inches. Rycon you look fairly tall so the kid must have been the reincarnation of Bruce Lee to kick you in the nuts hard enough to bring you down.
remember not all of us are watching some listen, so whispering and such makes it hard for us to actually hear and when. you just mouth stuff sometimes we have no idea

The idea that Matt's parents abandoned him is sad, but the thought that they're back at their car looking for him is terrifying

Water boarding involves water actually entering your nasal passage and throat, breathing through a wet rag isn't going to simulate this effect.

Holy fucking shit!!!
Asha Hall same here WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK CHLOE YOU COULD HAVE LET HIM GO
I just saw the scene she sounded psychotic
I mean, I kind of understand why. I'm more pissed about the fact that the PARENTS of the child left him alone like that. If I knew I had been infected and was about to turn, I'd have someone that I trusted whole heartedly to care for my son. I have a near five year old boy, and the mere thought of him being alone without me, or anyone, fucking kills me.
Asha Hall I think Chloe went psychotic with the way she without hesitation was about to kill a 5 year old without knowing how it works. for all we know the kid could have just had a cold from being in a abandoned car for who knows how long and just needed medicine. Also we don't know what type of zombies these are the bite ones, the last of us ones,
What if the message means "dont go to hinua, trust me"
So is the series gonna take a little break after this, or is the next chapter gonna start next Wednesday as usual?
The episodes will continue weekly same time. We are arranging them to be an ongoing weekly series.
Alright, cool. I was afraid there would be a pause because the chapter ended. :)
I'm a crack addict for these.

Cows with guns
Why did you leave the kid?
1:02:31 halls.md/chart-boys-height-w/
Height from the hip down of a 5 yo would be around 19.5 to 23 inches. Rycon you look fairly tall so the kid must have been the reincarnation of Bruce Lee to kick you in the nuts hard enough to bring you down.
Can someone animate this???
Don't trust rabbits...
Lol i love you guys but damn you guys make the worst survival decisions 😂
That nut kick wouldn’t have happened if the host wasn’t such a stage hog. He over talks and injects himself into nearly every interaction / scene.
remember not all of us are watching some listen, so whispering and such makes it hard for us to actually hear and when. you just mouth stuff sometimes we have no idea
so far so good though guys
+3733WOLF yeah we won't be doing that in chapter two. If we ever do whisper we'll just say I whisper etc etc ☺️
Wow, jeez the in game versons of chloe and rycon just lost all my repect and trust
