You are a wonderful teacher, and this is a great place to discover and learn more about how the best picture books are created. Thank you so much for these videos.
Thank you for introducing us to these amazing books. I definitely like the description "poetry picture book." And as always, I love your passion and enthusiasm, smiling along with you with my breakfast burrito.
Great selection of books. I like the arc you mentioned in the beginning. Simple ideas like time, big to small, lists, etc., can easily carry the reader through verse.
How did I miss this video?! That was great. I love A HOUSE IS A HOUSE FOR ME, that's the book we have and we haven't read it much so thanks for the reminder, Renee! I recently started writing poems again after not writing them for years. But this time I write them in English, which is not my first language. Writing prose is much easier, but I'm glad I'm back on track. Adding non-fiction part at the end is such a great idea. I didn't know this has become such a thing at the end of poem picture books, but it's great to know.
Thank you for this video lesson. I enjoyed each of your beautiful examples and look forward to checking them out at my library.
Wonderful! This is my favorite PB form, so I hope you love them as much as I do. :)
Wow, what a great lesson not only on poetry and NF but also what is possible w/back matter. TY.
Thank you, Kathy! Poem PBs are my favorite thing, and even better if they are NF. It's SUCH a versatile form!

Thank YOU for those lovely words!
I love A HOUSE IS A HOUSE FOR ME. I use it for writing prompts for my students.
SO much great, imaginative material in there!
I loveit too! It's a great mesh of rhyme, non-fiction, imaginative play and the last line is so perfect.
Thank you for this! You just gave me an idea on how to fix one of my "problem" picture books! Yay! Thank you!!!!
Wow! HOORAY!!!
I love water is water...thanks for the other book reviews.
Thank you! We found most of the books you’ve mentioned, in our local library and put them on hold! And hopefully we’ll create one, one day too!
Happy reading! :)
@@LyricalLanguageLab thank you!

Yes! Kind of like in concept books, but for an older audience.
