Honestly, I heard this version first and thought it was amazing. Then I heard Seal's original version of it..and even though they have the same lyrics, they have two very different feels to the song -- it almost feels like they're two completely different (but still awesome) songs.
Seal is the original artist. Always give honor where honor is due; after all, without Seal then Alanis could not have covered this song so well. Another angle you may want to consider is that you’re completely disregarding the musical genius and artistry of a Black man in favor of a white woman who is covering his song. Just a thought for you to ponder….

This version of the song change from gap clothing line. i used to work there 05/2011 in 2005-2006 they had asked alanis, common, john mayer etc what their fave song was?? It was part of a campaign, specifically geared towards denim jeans. When people bought a pair of 54 dollar jeans or spend more they wpuld get the cd. If you spend a higher amount the cd comes in the back of a gap coffee table book focused on their previous Advertisement and public figures modeling for them
