You talk lots about infrastructure and school places but in lots of rural areas such as mine we have massive numbers of surplus places in schools. We need younger people with families to be able to live here to keep what infrastructure we have viable. One village near me closed and demolished its school. Since then there's been a development of family homes there and now the site of the school is going to be used for... family homes! Nearest primary school is now 9 miles away. Talk about joined-up thinking!!

You've got to love the phrase "there's no money". Well, yes, there's plenty of money, but it's concentrated in the hands of very few. They didn't get that money from nowhere, it came from society. Err, you only need a working majority. That is in effect only 60 MPs to allow for rebels. The Tories have passed all their heinous legislation with an 80 majority.

Been saying it for months, but there were precisely two times that would have been ideal for him to call an election-
-First in the poll bounce after he was made leader, when public attitudes towards him were moderate as he was an unknown quantity
- Second after securing the Wibdsor Framework, as it surprised everyone and showed that his government could actually get something done
Assuming the electoral position was going to get better for them at this point in the political cycle, with the public mood being what it has been, has been (and continues to be) an exercise in psychedelic fantasy for the Tories. Forget the magic money tree, they seem to think theres a magic vote tree that grows them extra votes if they cling on long enough, despite the historical evidence being very much not the case for ruling parties.

Labour should make it law that any planning gain money from developers is used to improve services for people in the build area, instead of it being used for things like play areas or new shopping centers etc

November would be a bad choice for an election. Firstly, the Americans are going to the polls on the 5th.Nov. The turmoil that will almost certainly follow no matter who is declared the winner, will surely have a knock-on effect here Next, November is generally a miserable month weatherwise. people can be very turned off and that would include not wanting to venture out to vote, in particular for a Tory party that most of us don't want. Then with the run up to Christmas people have enough on their minds without politics being added into the mix.

So John is ok to let go of any criticism of Boris Johnson saying “that’s Boris for you”, but when it comes to Rishi Sunak he has to call him Alibaba for his short trousers. That’s called racism in my book.

Please could you point out the reality that the government is currently doing absolutely nothing, there is no business underway, there is no plan and no strategy, rishi Sunak is clearly an idiot because he had the opportunity to save the Tory party all he had to do was be competent and demonstrate some genuine empathy
