Thanks guys for the encouraging comments and thanks you sir for publishing this video. I'm 73 years young and wanted a vette since I was 13. My dream finally became reality. Just bought a 2007 at a local dealer. It has 31000 miles. Very nice condition. Had it checked out by my mechanic and he gave it a good go. Love my wife and I going on Sunday driving trips.
What a sweet ride! I bet you guys have a lot of fun with that. I’ll post a Short and then a regular video soon I made with my friends supercharged 08 C6. Just when I thought the C6 couldn’t get any better the supercharger definitely upped the experience, lol. 🙂

Sold it about 4 years ago and regretted it big time, so I had to get this one.
The LS3 engine which are in the 2008 - 2013 is more powerful with 430 to 434 HP, and more reliable as well. The Z51with short ratio 6 speed manual transmission does 0 = 60 in 3.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 12.4 seconds, with a top speed of 191 MPH, a real bargain imo.
Absolutely, LS3 Vettes are an incredible sports car platform. On my channel I have a video of my turbo Subaru Outback vs. my friends supercharged 08 ls3 and I show it’s 0-60. Even on sticky 325 width tires it bests like a 4.0 true 0-60 at our altitude. I have another video of it I’ll share soon. 🙂

Thanks for sharing your personal ownership experiences! Is yours an LS2 or 3? Before I ordered my Miata I had a FBO LS1 Trans Am, naturally I thought I would upgrade to a C6 next, but for now I’ll drive one whenever I can. In fact I’ll likely make a video of my friends gorgeous Supercharged LS3 pretty soon. 😉

I say the c5 is the true bargain. Last year I bought a 9k mile c5 for the price of a avg c6. It is down on power compared to the c6 but honestly, it's more than enough to get me in serious trouble. When I look at a c6 I see all the DNA from the c5.
You’re right, and that sounds like a great car! Funny enough I drove a c5 Zo6 today, I’ll publish the video publicly within the next couple weeks. It was a sweet experience! 😎
I still have my '06 Z51 which I bought new. It's in excellent condition and is garaged when not being driven. I added Corsa Sports, MGW short-throw shifter, and AirRaid intake. Other than the electronical door locks/keypads it has given me no problems. I still think the C6 is the best looking Vette. Way better than C7 and C8 with their "cluttered" rear ends, IMHO. Just my ten cents worth (inflation).
That’s awesome!! These are such sweet cars. But our density altitude kills performance in this area 😢 I took the launch easy because it’s 16 years old but I’ve done decently better 0-60’s in my FBO LS1 trans am in better weather, so this likely would have ran a very low 14 if I kept going. 😬 Thanks for watching!
The C6 was capable of 12.x bone stock at sea level, 0 density altitude, on a drag strip with new tires, and with a good driver when they came out new. Almost no one can actually replicate that or should expect that time, outside of those conditions. I unfortunately did mean this would only do a low 14 where I’m at, especially based off of its upper 5.x 0-60. My FBO Ls1 car ran about 3/10s faster 0-60 than this and it couldn’t get under 13.8-13.9 on GPS. Density altitude kills performance. That’s one of the reasons EVs like Teslas literally destroy most “fast” gas cars on the street or reality, they’re not impacted by density altitude the way gas engines are. Trust me, I would have loved for this to run a better time! I hope this didn’t come across as I’m contesting your opinion, I’m just sharing my experienced reality. 😊
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 You just need forced induction at those altitudes and not EV. Tesla's hardly "destroy" most fast cars, they'll keep up for the 1/8th then run out of juice at higher speeds
FI and an LS = ❤️ I know what you’re saying, and believe me I don’t like saying what I am, lol. In my area there are a surprising amount of law enforcement officers and no 1/4 drag strips within about 100 miles, so I more stick to 0-60 testing. On GPS Long Range and Performance Model 3’s/Y’s do as well or better than the AWD Hellcat cars within those speeds. Honestly, with either transmission it’s a win win. You’re driving a C6 Corvette! My friend who owns the Supercharged Orange C6 in a couple videos/shorts I’ve done has an automatic as well.
If those are still the original runflats, they would be16 years old and need replacing regardless of mileage. Most Vette owners ditch the run flats anyways, they are not great.

Thanks for mentioning about the shifter problem, I hadn’t heard that one! I’ve always really liked the C6s, but seeing one next to a wide fender C3 at a car show made me realize how flat these are on their sides lol.
Disagree, it’s starting to show its age compared to modern automotive styling. Looks simple and bland next to later corvettes. Don’t even get me started on the cheap Chevy Cobalt interior. Still a beautiful car tho
@EJleon96 Of course, coming from a C7 owner. Im sure some C8 guys feel the same way about your car 😂 J/k aside, Interior may not be the bees knees, but I think the timeless "corvette look" with round tailights will push this bodystyle into collector territory in the future, especially the Z06.
@@positronicreflex. maybe… but I find it annoying all C6 owners are always putting the C7 down. I wonder if there’s some bias cause there’s a few out there that didn’t get a C7 simply cause they couldn’t afford one. I’m sure once they are more affordable lots of them will jump on the C7 train. Not to mention parts are more readily available since they are newer.
That’s a good question! It’s just due to the camera and frames per minute and what it captures through the lenses. In real life the naked eye doesn’t detect any blinking. Thanks for watching! 🙂
It’s a GPS box called a Dragy, I bought mine over 2 years ago and I think it was about $150. Once you have that, just download it’s free app and you can access everything it offers and set your various measurement parameters. They’ve been shown to be accurate within a few hundredths of a second and MPH. 😎
Hey, great question, lol. It’s not my Corvette, just one that I borrowed. But, it’s actually a z51 badge that literally copies the zo6 badge. 🤢 I wish I knew why the previous owner put that one, it should come off lol. 😂
Didn't know z06 could have a targa. Lol. Fake badge. But im sure the vin says that on the window sticker. Edit: it's a z51 badge😂. Good christ. No one should ever do that.
Wow! Something is definitely wrong with that C6. I had a 2007 base non Z51 that ran 8.26@ 90 mph bone stock. That’s under 4 seconds 0-60! It’s probably more than 20% down on power.
That’s a good time! I have no doubt with a couple extra practice launches and warming up the tires it could also shave a few 10ths a second. But I’m cautious to not create a problem while driving someone else’s car, lol. Additionally its original rated time of low 4’s was probably not counting the few 10ths a second from rollout? I’ve never searched for when that became standard practice. Otherwise the density altitude seriously kills performance. My FBO LS1 Trans am true time 0-60 and 1/4 could never even reach what they claimed stock on a track 20 years earlier. 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching!! 🙂
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 yeah, my times are from a nearby 1/8 mile track. I had stock tires on mine but I never had to heat them up, not that it helps with stock street tires. He did not put it in competition mode (You have to tap the traction control switch twice and it will show on the display) and we dont know if the oil temp hit 190 to release the limiter.. If ya know, ya know.
I know right, Chevy made a big mistake when they made Automatic cars, not one has sold since they made them, not one car!!! They have lost millions of dollars!! I wish you could take over and set these guys straight
Debuted? Come on man, at least have someone proof read your stuff. You’re very informative, but when you speak English poorly, you’re going to lose the educated. Also, the c5 had the truck 4speed auto. The c6 had a 6speed auto, still slush box. They got into dual clutch autos in the c7 and c8. You are right about the manual though, no corvette pre 2014 should be an automatic. The c5 was incredible with the slush box, but swapping a c6 motor and trans (if you have to have the automatic) TRANSFORMS the car.

I wonder if there’s some bias cause there’s a few out there that didn’t get a C7 simply cause they couldn’t afford one. I’m sure once they are more affordable lots of them will jump on the C7 train. Not to mention parts are more readily available since they are newer.
I'm going to ask a stupid question why do the dash lights blink while you're driving the car if you don't mind me asking
That’s a good question! It’s just due to the camera and frames per minute and what it captures through the lenses. In real life the naked eye doesn’t detect any blinking. Thanks for watching! 🙂
How did you do the 0-60 timing? I would like to see how mine compares.
It’s a GPS box called a Dragy, I bought mine over 2 years ago and I think it was about $150. Once you have that, just download it’s free app and you can access everything it offers and set your various measurement parameters. They’ve been shown to be accurate within a few hundredths of a second and MPH. 😎
Me: What is a Z01?
Him: When the ZR1 and Z06 love each other very much and.....😁
Hahaha. 😂
only 2005 had the shitty 4 speed auto every other year had the 6l80 6 speed, its very very good.
Ummmm thats not a Z06 man... none of them came with a Targa top. That option appeared with the C7 on the Z06 package.
You’re right, it just has a rather silly Z51 badge on the sides, lol. 😂
Just wondering why your car has Z06 emblems on an obviously “not”, Z06 ?
Still a nice car
Hey, great question, lol. It’s not my Corvette, just one that I borrowed. But, it’s actually a z51 badge that literally copies the zo6 badge. 🤢 I wish I knew why the previous owner put that one, it should come off lol. 😂
Because I have arthritis in my knees. My 69 GTO was an auto. Did not lose to sticks..
Why are the dash lights blinking
It’s just what the camera picked up with its frames per second and shutter settings. 🤪
I really like that twisty torque.. and all the buddons... haha
Lol 😛
Why is the dash lights flashing??
That was caught on camera due to the frames per second and exposure and everything, but the naked eye doesn’t detect that. 🙂
Your horn is sick. Mine sounds manly compared to yours. Your backup camera was clever. Oh, and the candy candy bar holder. 😂
Lol, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I have a C7 and C5 Zo6 video also done and I’ll make them public in the next few weeks. Corvettes are so sick!! 😎
Didn't know z06 could have a targa. Lol. Fake badge. But im sure the vin says that on the window sticker.
Edit: it's a z51 badge😂. Good christ. No one should ever do that.
Lol, my thoughts exactly! The Z51 package is good, but not good enough to publicly display on the fender in a near identical fashion to the Z06. 🤷♂️😅
I was thinking exactly the same thing. 😮
Why is the dash flashing
That’s only noticeable through the camera/video, the naked eye wouldn’t detect that. 🙂
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 oh
Nice video bruh ..
I'm thinking about buying a Vette like that one
flashing lights?
Likely just due to what the camera catches that our naked eye can’t see. 🙂
I never had traction issues on the street either. That’s why I was shaking my head in agreement when you brought up “usable power”. Spinning ain’t winning! Great video and sense of humor! Thanks!
He did not put it in competition mode (You have to tap the traction control switch twice and it will show on the display) and we dont know if the oil temp hit 190 to release the limiter.. If ya know, ya know.
That’s good to know, thanks for sharing!
he was wayyyyyyyy low on fuel, the dash even said so
That z51 badge makes it look like a wannabe z06
You’re absolutely right lol. 😂
I have a 20 2ss, do i really need this as well 😂😂
Yes, you really do. 😎😉
👍🏻👍🏻
I have the 6 speed stick.. Id take an auto..
You win either way, it’s a Corvette! But why would you personally want to switch to automatic?
I want one but don’t have enough $ :(
They’re sweet cars so I’m not surprised they’ve overall kept their value. 😅 I hope one day you own a nice one!
Yeah my c6 ls3 can do 0-60 in 3.8. Why you should get a ls3 instead
😂 it’s funny how many of y’all don’t understand d/a
Disappointed at 4:35 and onward. Where's the third pedal? This review doesn't even count.
Lol, I don’t think you’ll like my C8 review or the cammed C6 video I’ll post in a couple weeks either then… 😬
Sounds like the Honey Badger dude, lol.
Haha 😂
You should take the Z06 sticker off the car
It was actually a Z51 sticker, and yes, whoever put that sticker on shouldn’t have, lol. 😂
Who gets an auto C6. Man
Right, lol.
I know right, Chevy made a big mistake when they made Automatic cars, not one has sold since they made them, not one car!!! They have lost millions of dollars!! I wish you could take over and set these guys straight
Putting an automatic in a Corvette should be a crime.
Haha yeah.
Jesus get some fuel! 😂
Haha, you’re right!
Dude! Put some gas in your car!
Haha I know! That poor fuel pump…😬😅
No offense, but they haven't aged that well in the looks department. Still a fun sports car.
I think I’m biased towards the C6 because it was the Corvette when I was in High-school. 🤷♂️😅
bru its literally the best looking corvette im tryn find one near me
C6 is the best looking generation corvette. Especially the wide bodies, GS, z06 and Zr1.
I think you’re probably a hater or a mustang fanboy
@@nickconstantinolandscapese2890if a slim body is done right they’re gorgeous . I can’t think of a better looking modern car for under 60k.
And wait.. you’ve been calling it a six speed manual! That’s very obviously an automatic friend.
