Denny, a veteran WW1 RAF observer / gunner and expert pilot, developed an interest in radio controlled model aircraft which led to design and production at his Van Nuys, California, plant of some of the first 'drone aircraft'.
Radioplane OQ-2 and OQ-3 series were used by the U.S. Army Air Forces and Navy for gunnery training throughout WW2 and beyond. In June of 1945 one Captain Ronald Reagan of the USAAF First Motion Picture Unit sent a photographer, David Conover, to see his actor pal's operation and snap a few photos.
A particular young woman working on the production line having caught the photog's eye, Conover shot color photos of Norma Jeane Dougherty that were published and encouraged her to pursue a career in modeling.
She would later be known as Marilyn Monroe.

Just what a detective needs: a sarcastic secretary! Patricia Farr was loaned to Chesterfield,
courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox, for this film. She wasn't able to go too far. She was only
22 when she played the the role of Ella Carey. She died from cancer, at the age of just 35.

You are so correct that the actor, James Bush, resembles Manners but also Douglas Montgomery too. In fact, he played Montgomery's Brother in another film. I like Reggie Denny, but Talkies exposed that he was "too British" for American consumption. He is not an "All American"" leading man type. Talking films toppled his leading man status and he was relegated to Gentleman "character" roles. He is funny in his English chauvinistic way...lol
