Lowkey, why did they get rid of character portraits? Kind of a necessary feature if the characters don’t express much through their models.
I agree, the hand drawn concept art for the characters is so good it's crazy they didn't bother to use it
I mean Animal Parade, Magical Medley, and ToT didn't have them, I dont see the big deal.

@@chaosdestructionlove the big reason for that is that Yoshifumi Hashimoto, the director for trio of towns, is busy making rune factory 5 the best game that it can be. But there’s good news, the current director is very open to critics and wants to work on patches to fix issues

I've heard that the devs already had a response on the official jp website and they're already fixing some stuff like the loading screen and plan to fix other things like the maker system and character dialogues! That's actually great news and they said they'll be listening to fans much more than they did before! Hopefully it'll live up to our expectations as updates come.
Really hope so! I was so sad to see the state of the game this last week and not for a lack of really really wanting it to be good. Just wanna grow copious amounts of flowers ;u;
Its possible we're going to need to wait several months to within the year for everything to get patched tho. Hopefully a good lesson to marvelous not to rush the games out quite so much.
@@chaosdestructionlove I hope so too! I don't mind waiting as long as they fix all of these issues that many reviews stated! The JP reviewers are already doing a great job on pointing out their complaints so I hope it'll be at a better state once the world wide release happens! I'm just really glad the devs are willing to listen to their fans 💕
@@ruruka6500 yeah same, iirc this one has a new director? I guess he disregarded the old games and conventions a bit too much. Hopefully a good lesson in at least making sure the game is polished when you change up a ton of elements(itd be nice if we could get an animal parade style game again though...), especially those makers. I don't like the idea of baby sitting those for hours on end. It wasn't so much of an issue in stardew bc most general use makers finished within 30 secs to a minute. So you could sit there inside your house for 5 minutes and process everything except the high cost items really quickly and then do something else. That and they had tiny footprints.

@@odette9872 Mostly was because we needed mats at the time big time since game had just launched yet around 2-3 spots in rock mining per rock was egg
@@odette9872 It's mostly because of the egg balloons that spammed the skies. And the Bunny Day event overlapped (and overshadowed) other time sensitive events, like getting cherry blossom recipes and young bamboo recipes. And there was also a Fishing Tourney during the Bunny Day event. Instead of catching fish, you'd caught eggs, which didn't count toward anything. So, tell me... how can you still not understand the hate for Bunny Day?? LOL
@@odette9872 it just made me really hate fishing and digging for fossils because all you gonna get is eggs.. and chopping trees to get wood but instead of wood you get eggs most of the time and hitting the rocks.. also mostly eggs less materials.. the eggs were just everywhere and it was really annoying😂 I can actually imagine Zipper underwater just to place an egg on the hook of my rod😭
The fact that the ''makers'' all just look like generic boxes with something identifying them on the top is kinda disappointing, the ore maker could have just been a furnace and the lumber maker a bench saw, etc.
Strawdew valley was inspired by harvest moon which is now called story of seasons not the other way around
Stardew was inspired by harvest moon. But Harvest moon dev team split into two: which both now continue to make games called Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons respectively. They aren’t interchangeable

Natsume (current makers of Harvest Moon) ONLY have the rights to the name "Harvest Moon" and the original Harvest Moon games (Made by Marvelous) had to change the series name to 'Story of Seasons" for Western Release. In Japan, the games are still called "Bokujou Monogatari" (translation: Farm Story) The ones Natsume makes currently are just to profit off the brand recognition of "Harvest Moon".
While true, Stardew Valley was a hit because it did so many things Harvest Moon fans wished for years. So essentially any game in either series must be at least as good as Stardew Valley or there’s not much of a point
@@MrZer093 in my opinion, because this game takes so many stardew valley elements, it has lost the story of seasons charms and feels like any and every farm sim ever. It’s not a bad game but I feel it is a bad story of seasons game. (Again my opinion)

Even though I’m still excited for the game. I’m more interested in rune factory 5. I love the story season/harvest moon franchise, but rune factory 4 it felt like a breath of fresh air.
The characters have so much personality. Not only that but the characters sometimes visit you just to check if you’re OK and give you a gifts.They some true homies.
Rune Factory 5 should be amazing. That's where the creator of SOS has been putting his effort into. This SOS was developed by a different development group, the same who did the friends of mineral town refresh.
i am the complete opposite :)) i have tried at least 3 different rune factory games by now, but they just fail to grasp my attention for long compared to sos and hm.
honestly I’ll always prefer rune factory over harvest moon/story of seasons, I always got bored to death playing those games

About the NPCs, in Stardew Valley everyone says the same 2 bits of dialogue to you per season so, it's not like this is something "new" to this kind of games.

I've been playing this game for a bit now. It has a tons of events - some can be short (and may not involve the main character), but entertaining nonetheless. I didn't mind dialogues about happenings in town, I think they break the monotony and give me a reason to go to the town (otherwise, I'd be too preoccupied cleaning the farm, mining etc). Most characters are entertaining, but could do with a bit more dialogues as their dialogues can be a bit repetitive (SoS:ToT did a good job with this). Mining is surprisingly entertaining, although the 2am time limit can be quite limiting. Fishing isn't as hard as I thought it was gonna be. I haven't cooked much, but the cooking quests at Lovett's house where we could get rewards for delivering requested dishes are a nice addition. Caring for animals is definitely more convenient in this game, but farming or cleaning up can be a chore at first (before tools get upgraded) as sometimes it can be hard to perform an action accurately on the exact tile you want it (especially whacking a mole, in my experience).
But the loading time and the lag, to me, are a deal breaker. Game gets extremely laggy when you've unlocked the third farm area and have tons of makers/floortiles/objects on the farm. And I agree that there are waaay too many makers, which don't help with the lagging issue, and weeds/trees/stones/puddles grow ridiculously fast that to maintain a clean-looking farm I had to resort to using floortiles (and still can't get it as clean as I'd like because, as it has been pointed out by Zion, there are a lot of unsuable tiles where we can't place our floortiles), which, again, didn't help with the lagging. Things could also get real messy if you don't keep track of where you put your belongings. A bigger rucksack would be nice also, since there's so many items and we only get 4 rows of item slots. I'd say there's a bit too much item management than I'd like, but I'm not the most organised person. Another small gripe is that my female character is significantly bigger than the other bachelorettes - this is definitely me being nitpicky, but would be nice to be able to choose our body type, or at least to look similar to the other bachelorettes (so far, no clothing option offers smaller/slender build look, except for the first feminine clothing perhaps).
Hopefully the patch that's to come will fix some of these issues! I'm enjoying the game so far, but might wait for the patch before I continue :)

I love Harvest Moon but this game looks so uninspired. It's the same old formula with a fresh coat of paint. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but this paint is kind of dull. I don't feel any desire to buy this one, especially with Rune Factory 5 around the corner.
Honestly the biggest reason I wanna get it is for the bull plush😅 I really don’t know if I actually wanna get this game or not..
Both this and RF5 look like ps2 games, it's the playability that matters, after reading all the reviews this guy seems to be the hardest on it.

I've had that feeling for pretty much every game in every series for a while now. I'm just still interested because it has the basic stuff that i like, (lots of customization keeps me hooked).
I found the art for the trailer where it explains the backstory so beautiful, and I was so excited... and then it switched to gameplay footage and... omg, it's so disappointing. Cartoony and flat, with none of the charm I remember from some of the earlier titles. The concept art for the characters and everything is so gorgeous that it makes the actual result even more disappointing. I will say the town design looks quite pretty in the footage shown here.
Tbh I just don't know how to feel about the game. Some changes were really nice but the game overall just doesn't seem interesting I guess?

The bland character interactions and issues with farm layouts/makers do seem like they'll make the game way less fun than it deserved. :c its a shame since there was potential too.
I'm assuming it's because of Rune Factory 5. The next one will likely be better honestly

Is anyone else bored of getting "finished games" that are patched to be actually good? Like I was so looking forward to this and now just.... I guess I will wait however many patches it takes to make it how it should be?...
that’s one of the biggest downsides of the industry these days. on one hand, i’m thankful that we can download patches to fix bugs and whatnot as opposed to the old days when sometimes you had to buy a whole new copy of a game. however, i feel like a lot of publishers are taking advantage of the convenience of patches in order to quickly push out lackluster, unfinished content that’s still full price at launch. the whole “we’ll fix it later, we’ll add stuff that should’ve already been here later” mindset is so stale, so annoying, and honestly turning me off from gaming as a whole.
@@elblooderino I seriously couldn't agree more. Nowadays I won't even risk buying an early access game because you end up coming back to a whole new game, or they don't deliver anything initially said, or it's just too unfinished, it's like you're paying to be a patch tester when they should pay you in some cases lol... For example Cyberpunk should nnnnnooot have been released when it was & its going to put people off for a long time considering playing it. Felt like a rushed buggy mess couldn't even take the story serious because of it. Only buying set-in-stone good games now! Indies are proving better than big devs too
No, because I was bored when it first happened years ago. People will still buy things by the millions and they won't protest against this fuckery because they don't want to go without stuff, so I figured this would become the new norm. Unfortunately I was right, but not like it matters cuz it isn't going to change now. Same way early access used to be a cherished superior thing thing get into, now you can just buy your way in with every game. It is (was?) sickening.
Yes. Very tired of it. I don’t know why this has become a thing but I’m over it. They should delay the game if it’s not finished. Don’t burden customers by shipping unfinished products. This is especially true for people like me who have really bad internet connections. It takes me hours to download even small patches. Big updates require overnight downloads, which is ridiculous. Why should I have to pay these companies and THEN be required to take hours of my life to download their fixes? It’s wrong and I’m not buying games that require this anymore.
Actually games did get released in bad states back then. The only diffence back then they never fixed them. Because there was no way too.
I've been looking forward to a mainline Harvest Moon game since the Switch launched. This... doesn't seem like what I was hoping for. This series used to set the trends, and it's concerning to see it following the crowd.

i think it's cute that they talk about the festivals, i dont understand the whole critic about dialogues, bc in previous games they would just say the same two sentences every. single. day. so i think it's actually nice to see it getting switched up a little more!

Seemed like you mainly pointed out the negatives about the game and none of the positives about it. Kinda disappointed in this preview it sounded like you just pointed out everything bad but didn't mention many good aspects.

I definitely agree. It’s still a bit of a niche genre, and not the type of game you can get a good impression of at the beginning. I wish reviewers would celebrate what makes these games unique instead of giving out a bunch of hot takes (that aren’t very good).
@Kay I disagree, there's a lot of Harvest Moon and Rune Factory games that make much better first impressions after only a couple of hours. I think if you're 15 hours in and there's still major issues, then there's a problem. The reviewer also implies multiple times that they've had experience with previous games in the series, so it's not them unfairly judging the genre.

I honestly think this review is a little unnecessarily harsh. The dialogue for all farming games is always repetitive unfortunately. It's the same with Stardew Valley. I'm still picking up this game day one I feel like the positives outweigh all the negatives.
Completely disagree about the dialogue part. Trio of Towns had a substantially larger dialogue pool compared to the rest of the series. Rune Factory 4 had so much unique dialogue that you could talk to characters every day for a year and still be getting new conversations out of them.
@@niiinjaaaaa I definitely agree about RF4. I just picked up Special to tide me over until this and RF5 comes out. One pleasant surprise was that all the villagers were saying something about how Illuminata solved a mystery. Literally everyone commented on it. And you go over to her and talk with her and she was like “oh heard about that, did ya?” It seems small and unimportant but it made me feel like I was really a part of that world instead of talking with people who have their own specific sets of dialogue independent of others; and you could also overhear people talking with others when they’re gathered together in the same place like during festivals or events.
My problem with that critique is that it just gives a bad example. In every farming game the villagers will talk about the next festival. That is present in every game in the genre, even the best ones do it. It’s just a way to save time during development and let the player know about the festival. The review doesn't mention if the player was raising their friendship levels with the other characters. I have no idea if the dialog is more repetitive that with previous games.
It really seems that the reviewer was playing too much Animal Crossing lately and just decided to comment in the most common critique of that game. Heck even mentioning Animal Crossing makes very little sense. They are completely different games.

Truthfully I've never played a Rune Factory game but maybe I'll give it a try. It sounds good.
Oh and btw! It has been announced that an update will be added soon, in which the dialogue and the whole maker thing will be fixed.

@@myon9431 - Watching gameplay made me realize the same thing. I actually passed on FoMT as well, so maybe this new director just isn't my vibe. I loved most of the handheld titles (my primary way to game), especially Trio of Towns, but for me it feels like this entry in the series has taken a big step backwards from where they were. I wasn't feeling the farming or the townsfolk this time. Watching the heart events cinched it. RF5 looks great on the other hand. Really looking forward to that one!

I'll buy it. I love the first Story of Seasons game on the 3ds, it's probably my favorite in this genre next to Harvest Moon 64 and I've wanted something similar since I've had a switch. I tried Stardew Valley since it was given so much praise, but couldn't get into it and Rune Factory 4 is really good, but not like the old Harvest Moon and SoS I've been looking for. So if this game is at least close to enjoyability as the 3ds one, I'm down.
At least it sounds like I'm not the only one who couldn't get into Stardew Valley..I like it,but I don't play it that often..I play SoS Friends of Mineral Town more than I play Stardew Valley..I haven't played Rune Factory 4 but I couldn't get into those games..I also loved the SoS games on the 3DS 😊

Also ppl are forgetting that this game took after Harvest Moon A New Beginning than Stardew, where we make our own town and farm. Plus they have to remember getting the better stuff takes time, it's like they wanted it to be easy to get everything. So much whining in this video imo, I'll play it myself to see what's up.
I just finished rune factory 4 special its really good but some of the dialogue can be a bit well cringe especially with the dragon :/
stardrew valley is okay, I would not say it the best farming game ever like everyone else say but I did enjoy playing co-op with my sister but I still like the older Harvest Moon games and I did try their news games which is call Story of seasons now on the 3DS but could not get into it too and I did not like Rune Factory 4 Special at all on the switch

I really2 hope they use the art style like Doraemon SoS for this game. It so refreshing and feel new for the series. Honestly, for me I really like that game, but bc it lack some of th HM/SoS mechanic like marriage, it doesn't feel complete for me. I hope the developer will use that art style for the next game. (My personal opinion)
Yeah why they did not use that the artstyle in the doraemon is so good. Granted the sound design needed more polish, but I prefer the doraemon sos artstyle than the remake of the friends of mineral town.

I adored the doraemon SoS art style, too. I would have loved to see it used in this one. It had such a warm, whimsical feel to it, but like you said; without all of the mechanics it just felt like it was missing something.

For addition, the bgm or ost for the game also take big part from this series...even Doraemon SoS hve some really good music that make me always come back just to feel the music..og HM series like AWL and HoLV (my only HM game😅) also had some nostalgic music that make you want to hear it more..

Why is nobody talking about lack of an actual map. Where are the mountains and rivers. You leave your farm and your in town.

Yeah I think the makers are a little excessive. They take up a ton of space, only make one at a time, and look ugly. It would be great to like upgrade and compline them later if possible.
I have so much respect for Kate Gray right now! Thank you for pointing out the problems that are currently in the game and not just gushing about the graphics. After the Japanese releases many people brought up these issues as well. I was worried that the reviewer would just compare it to Friends of Mineral Town and just state that it was an upgrade.
I hate the new way of talking care of your animals and I am happy that you brought it up because I really liked being able to change to brush, milkers, or clippers in order to take care of animals.
Also it may be part of the embargo that you can't talk about the Egg Hunt just being 3 clips and not even something interactive. Also they cut out Harvest festivals, Animal Festivals and Cooking festivals. Also all the food models are the same thing even if you order dessert or breakfast it is the same fried fish and soup.
I am saddened that the dialogue of the villagers are so stilted and dry especially since I am currently playing Trio of Towns where the villagers are so full of life.
I currently have Pioneers of Olive Town preordered but honestly I am about to cancel it.

Animal Crossing has nothing to do with the Harvest Moon "formula".
Sad to hear that about the makers. They did an awesome job in Trio of Towns and it didn't take long to develop wine or wool/thread.

Yeah I'm waiting for Steam as well, and that's only if they upgrade the dialogue and make the game more exciting than just what seems to be a retread slapped with bells and whistles.
I hope the things you mentioned will be addressed, as I’m almost disappointed I pre-ordered and prepaid. The growth rate of trees and weeds is exasperating as well as the ridiculously unsightly makers for every friggin’ thing imaginable. The inability to arrange the inside of your house is downright disheartening. Seems every new game takes 1 step forward and 2-3 backwards. The game folks need to

@@federicarichwell6873 How does this resemble Animal Parade? Do'nt get me wrong it's my favorite game but I don't think they are similar in any way.
The only gripe I have with this game is the potential it could’ve been. Seeing the first person view at 6:24 makes me wish this game had all around camera angles like AWL or even something similar to AP. Getting rid of portraits would’ve been fine if the game had that feature. AWL worked well not having portraits because when you talked to npc’s you could see their 3D models up close. There’s a sense of intimacy. However, talking to characters in Olive Town looks like the 3ds games because the camera angle is so far away that it makes everyone look lifeless and robotic. Getting rid of portraits mean you need to go over and beyond to make their 3D models as expressive as possible but everyone has the same body expression movements. This is the first original SoS game for switch, I think it’s time we got rid of the fixed camera angle.
Marvelous at this point is almost like gamefreak. They have the money but don’t care to listen to fans wishes and ideas for future titles. Every 'new' game we get is just a recycled same version of its previous one. I admit Olive Town has tons of new features and is different, but getting rid of the things fans love is a huge step back. Why not include the new features AND everything else that fans love?
Oh man, the “maker” problem seems like it will be a pain. I may hold off on launch at first.

LMAO AWL's models were more chibi like than any of these models.
I'd rather they go back to Animal Parade that's been my favorite these feel like a massive downgrade
@@TheBbrstanggt Animal Parade's gameplay was my absolute favorite, but AWL's atmosphere can't be beat. I'd love to see a return to form using both those aspects.
@@TheBbrstanggt yesss i totally agree with you. Tree of Tranquility and Animal Parade were my favorite games and the characters, animals and the world look so pleasing to the eye! The style of the newer games is always the reason why i never end up buying them :/
How fast does time move in this game compared to other entries?
Pretty fast as time still runs when in buildings and during mining unlike in friends of mineral town. Also there is a 2am hard pass out unlike in Fomt where you could keep going until whenever.

From what I've seen each day up to like 11 pm is about 20 minutes I think. I've been watching this guy play and he does one day at a time. And they all seem to be about 20 mins and he starts playing from the get go.
I wonder which farming game will win, pioneers of olive town or one world. I had little expectations for one world, but high hopes for this.

Imo this is a good entry. Animation is good, mechanic is good. Havent touched any harvestmoon/sos since mineral town, this one so far good.

It's the same personality styles on Animal Crossing and no one seems to care.
I am sayin, not to mention the makers are the same in Stardew Valley, I know, I have a basement full of them 🙄🙄🙄 and you need them early game to make copper bars. So I mean idk I feel like some of this is just people being critical of things they're fine with in other titles.

@@odette9872 Yeah, but in Stardew Valley there are a small number - what, a furnace, loom, mayonnaise thingy, cheese press, truffle oil, vegetable press, keg...? That's an awful lot less than 17, and it sounds like that might not even be the final total! And in Stardew you can pack them closely together, and eventually pop most of them inside. Looks like you have to cover a lot of area with makers here.
@@odette9872 True but in Stardew you need less of them. Like for example, one seed maker can be use with every vegetable/fruit whereas in this game it seems like you need a specific one for certain vegetable (he mention a mushroom seed maker one I think). It seems pretty annoying.
Except a lot of people do care. The weak dialogue one of the biggest complaints for ACNH
I'm not touching this game until they've fixed a lot of issues. If that means I never get it, then so be it. I'm not going to pay for a broken, half finished game. Tired of company's thinking the brand will carry itself.

No gonna lie... I'm not surprised, because seeing the original trailer and the art direction they chose... I kinda expected this...
But as a long time HM64 fan....I am disappointed to see it falling so much.

I agree. Normally negatives and positives are mentioned which is understandable but this just seemed to criticize everything about the game. I'm super excited for it though can't wait for release.
Agreed, I wish he went with both neg and pros equally at least but he was having a meltdown about everything still early in the game. He said there are better upgrades to the things he was complaining about.

Reviews aren't about spreading positivity or negativity, they're about helping people work out whether they'll enjoy something before they spend money and time on it.

Story of Seasons (aka Harvest Moon) was the original farming simulator, not Stardew Valley.
I'm tired of people acting like stardew is the original when all it did was do the same thing harvest moon did back then.

Not going to lie, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons has changed a lot since the GameCube era and not in a good way. I can't for the life of me figure out why the dev team refuses to make a good game again like A Wonderful Life or Save The Homeland. Thanks, saved me $50.
The complaints they have seem like something a day 1 patch will resolve. I wouldn’t be too concerned yet.
Felt like I'm listening to a review i already read....checked the description and yep read this review in the morning. So weird to hear it now. Noteworthy to say there's been backlash in Japan also and so natsume will be running lots of updates so hoping they fix this issue. I'm still getting the game but it'll be OK my backlog (got bravely default and atelier ryza not to mention 2020 games). Here's to trying to play this game before rf5 comes because that takes priority lol
Allegedly, they're fixing some issues in patches after release, so that should be cool. It's insane that makers can only make 1 material and don't allow stacking
I for one am sick of paying for broken games at launch and having to rely on patches. I won’t be buying any more games that do this. I think developers need to be sent a message that customers aren’t ok with this practice and when we buy these games despite not being finished, that’s exactly what we’re doing: encouraging developers to ship unfinished products.
I am so sad now. I was really looking forward to this game. Animal crossing has become so boring. I am glad I watched this video, because I don't think I am gonna get the game now.
If you haven't tried a Rune Factory game already I would recommend that series to fill in the gap!
I hope you see this reply! If you haven’t tried My Time at Portia, I think you should. The graphics are great, the storyline is awesome, and gameplay is fun and rewarding. The music is great too. It does have a few bugs but nothing game breaking. It’s very much like Story of Seasons and Animal Crossing, like a hybrid really. Very fun. I have nearly 200 hours into it and never got bored.

What he's complaining about in 5:10 also happens in Stardew valley during events just not for as long as it's kind of biased on one game vs the other that does the exact same thing to an extent.
I haven’t gotten a story of seasons game for switch but I really want one. I’m leaning toward Friends of Mineral Town now though

I've been following way behind and harvest moon/story of seasons because I just feel like every time another one of the games comes out it's kind of poop. I still kind of have high hopes for this one and I'm hoping that once it comes out and more people play it it'll be some more traction. and I know it will never happen but honestly I would just be so happy if they did like a remaster of a wonderful Life and just did some extra events and maybe made some extra characters and stuff like that. I'd be in heaven. A wonderful life was my fav lol
i really wish there was character portraits. makes it more immersive with seeing how the npc's react and express themselves. just interacting with the sprites is too lacking without it, that's just me though.
the announcement of the season pass had me immidiatly worried a decision like that was already planned in develpment i think they 'finished' the main game sooner to start working on the dlcs, alot of the issues i see alot of people mention could be ironed out if there was more playtesting and a little more develpmont its a shame, but seen the developer had formed an apoligy and will add bugfixes and dialogue maybe other things too this game will eventually become a decent sos game. i truly hate this era of gaming too much games come out not ready and than they expect us to stick around to eventually play the finished product i rather hear the game is delayed. lets hope rune factory 5 will be good thats the game im actually looking forward too

For those who don't know, this is the OG developer from the Harvest Moon games made 1996 - 2012. And the remake: Friends of Mineral Town, is one of the best farm-sims since Stardew Valley.
I loved Doraemon SOS, and SOS:FOMT was fine. I hope SOS:POOT (best acronym ever) will be closer to Doraemon SOS.
Looks kind of cute but I’ve been getting bored of SoS games. The gameplay isn’t fun...
I didn’t like the art style for Stardew at first but I got hooked. The characters have character and the gameplay is fun with you grinding mine levels and unlocking tons of new things. And only for around $20...
Coral Island is coming out this year and I’m pretty hyped for that. There’ll always be a part of my heart for SoS but I think Indie games have been more worth my money.

I hate to say this but overall I’ve found that Kate Gray is an extremely negative reviewer so please take this with a grain of salt, her average review from all her reviews is a 6.5 so uh yea I wish Nintendo Life would be careful just reading off someone else thoughts because while I don’t know for sure I don’t feel Zion would ever be so negative...it is fine if you didn’t like it but this and their recent HM review also by her are a little much...it not the friendly Nintendo life content I’ve come to expect where if they don’t like something they say oh well it wasn’t for me but here some facts good or bad...she’s really negative, and that my review after looking up her other reviews I’m sorry but a 6.5 average review for all her written reviews is really low considering how many good titles she got a chance to review.

Came here to say this. Except My Time at Portia had better graphics and their maker machines looked waaaay better, too. Plus better music, better character portraits, etc. Honestly My Time at Portia is so underrated.

I got this game 3 days ago and I'm already at the end of fall, got some orichalcum tools, the small house, and max hearts. It's addicting because it feels like the real harvest moon. Finally. The REAL harvest moon feeling that's been an empty hole in my life needing to be filled.
