Hey!, Pain dota if you are reading this,I just wanted to take a moment to say a big thank you for sharing your expertise and creating such an amazing resource for the community. Your in-depth analysis, strategic insights, and clear explanations have truly helped me level up my gameplayyy please keep on making this type of content thanks a lot mate
You should make a video about the laning stage with ZQuixotix where you cover the carry aspects and he covers the support ones! Would be an awesome collab
I rank up from crusader 3 to ancient in 3 months with your pos1 climbing tips. Now I have 67% winrate AM, 64%wr Muerta. All thank to you! I feel so good, hope will see you make a video about faceless void which is my top 3 favourite hero but I suck at him
Awesome. Played Drow for the first time in ages, and turned around a losing game (with the help of my teammates of course), by following the Yatoro concept with farming + itemization. Worked very well against a tanky and slipper team of Axe, Kunkka and Slark.
Just saw yatoro's protracker. Found out he actually started losing when he started buying midas. He had midas in like last 10 games and 7 of them were lost. He had some winstreak and good winrate with regular wraith band and falcon blade. Should point out that his falcon blade games have overall good winrate tho
Yeah I noticed that but saw other's adopting the Midas approach and winning with it. Let's see what people decide to stick with. I tried the Midas build myself, played like 7 games and won all of them. Riyadh Masters should clear it
@@PainDotawell the question is if you would have won with a stronger build too. Drow can fight from level 6 on with like a dozen potential power spikes due to green scaling that many other heroes don’t have. It’s one of the top 3 fastest heroes even as a carry. Up there with specter and jugg. Why would you sacrifice your early game for the late game when Drow famously has a faster early mid, mid and late game power spikes? You’re gonna get strong at the end either with Midas or without. Why be weaker early on? Why get attack speed from Midas when more green items like manta give you attack speed and so much more ASAP.
Midas is not better than all green build trust me. If he would have won or lost is based on matchmaking it’s a team game not the items. That’s not science Lmaoo
@@nutellabrah6718 dafug is green build/item. agi build/item you mean? deso is also a shitty item on dr considering how her ult works (unless in a niche situation of fighting priority str heroes)
This video proves that drow does need a bullying support as lane partner. No wonder I was losing lanes whenever my lane partner chooses to leave me alone to try to farm in jungle. Thanks for this video. After starting this game again after several years of break, I quicky found Drow to be my favorite Hero which I spammed to climb from Herald 2 to Guardian 2 in 3 weeks. Unfortunately I found climbing harder beyond Guardian 3, partially due to my own skill issue, partially due to shit teammates (thanks a lot matchmaking algorithm) and part due to certain parts of my usual tactics not working at that level. This video would help me play better. Time to play more Drow games.
so ive been playing drow 10 times recently after seeing this video, heres what i found out about the build. for starting items if you think the enemy will give you stick charges go the wand 3 branches if ur laning against no stick charge lane for example (viper, enchant) i buy tango slipper ,circlet and 3 iron branches. get wraithband and pt as fast as you can then from there if its a free lane and you're dominating as long as you can get midas before min 10 its fine getting midas. but if you are having a hard or terrible lane go falcon. the main timestamp you have to try to get is dragonlance at min 12. after dlance go for aghs then after it just like the video choose either of the three items. what I think pain left out is bkb is sometimes mandatory in some matchups for example axes blademail, enemy has a blink lion. hope this helps
your approach to educational content is unlike any other content creator on youtube please keep doing this I learned TA from your videos and the growth i've seen is insane
Just shoot the arrow like half a second early to compensate for the travel time. After practicing you get a feel for the timing (like any hero with a projectile travel time) and having two wraith bands early helps with making it feel better.
@@ZeroXcuses i wouldn’t say it’s that bad. There are slower animations and delays out there. Esspecially once you get used to it it can be pretty easy to get deceptive last hits,

Great guide!! I want to play Drow often because I love the arcana, but I'm hesitant to pick off-meta heroes. With this new knowledge I'm ready to let the arrows fly!
Thank you for making a video about this. I always knew midas drow was the way even before her agha changes and people flamed me about it kek. Her strengths lie in her ultimate levels and talents to out dps uni heroes
great guide pain! Won one with drow and went on to play another one just to leave 3 mins into the game bc my pudge 5 kept hooking me on purpose, tough game
The video had 322 likes so i didnt want to fuck that up for the memes. but the video is pretty good. +1 like and sub. Looking forward to watching more of your content.
Drow is one of my favorite heroes, she helped me reach Archon recently, but I swear to god I still have no idea how to make effective use of her new shard, glacier has to be one of the most awkward to use abilities in dota right now
One thing to note is that it gives bonus attack range, but you need to have frost arrows on autocast to benefit from it because manually casting frost arrows has a maximum cast range range that's actually slightly shorter than just having hurricane pike. Its a great ability particularily for sieging high ground from far away with no highground disadvantage. I recommend using it after going into trees with blink or pike as it gives high ground vision in teamfights. Remember it also makes a wall, so you can potentially cut off areas for low mobility heroes, block vision, and so on, like on those staircases.
@PainDota, Dude Before this video I've checked my DR performance, it was %70 winrate on 10 games. I did midas build as per this video. lost my last 3 drow game. IDK what happened to me :(
Ah yes the common misconception about how to play drow. Thinking that because you do enough damage naturally, that you shouldn’t double down on damage. Drow potentially has the ability to do so much damage that even strong heroes melt in 3-5 hits. A regular default drow with no items takes like 10 hits to do the same thing. Would you rather kill somone in 3 hits or 10 hits? Can you see how that could be useful? I love going up against opponent drows who don’t get 2 wraith treads full pike deso because that means we have a chance. Love to see opponent drows not finish their dragon Lance because then we have a chance (not getting force staff into gust insta killed). Yeah get your stupid Midas and weak non full green + deso build. Yes please make it easier for your opponents. So many people play drow underwhelmingly it’s funny. People are obsessed with putting non green stat items on the one hero in dota who benefits from green items the most. Double wraith treads dragon Lance on drow is one of the fastest early team fight super power spikes in the history of Dota. But yeah let’s get something stupid instead. Pike is then another power spike (giving necessary mana to always fight, if you get greedy and leave it at dragon Lance you have no mana for arrows) and then build up to manta is another power spike when you get yasha. Then another power spike when you get manta itself, then another power spike for a quick deso, then another power spike for SB (ez ganks) then silver edge into deadalous means everyone melts. As a squishy hero it’s important you pop people faster than they can rush you. Killing a person in 10 hits isn’t good enough. The best defense is doubling down on offense so that approaching your bubble become an extremely deadly and daunting task. It’s stupid when people choose to itemize in a way that falls below that critical mass of damage to do something lame instead and build it like it’s some other universal utility hero.
Disagree that lvl 15 "Gust reveals invisible units" talent is useless. Maybe at Yataro's level but in low ranked pubs it helps a lot when playing vs heroes with invis like BH, Mirana, Invoker etc and your team isn't buying wards. Or even against supports that buy glimmer and cores that buy silver edge.
In situations where you need offensive detection and your team isn't helping, you're better off just buying dust since it covers a greater area and you don't miss out on the multishot CD. Particularly given this build doesn't fill up your inventory with as many cheap stats/damage items, you should have the slot available for quite a while. When you're six-slotted, it wraps around back to being useful after level 25, because innate detection will become more valuable as you and your allies run out of slots. Think about it this way: -8 seconds is a 40% cooldown reduction at max level, on your farming skill. Because Multishot casts Frost Arrows, the Aghanim's you're already buying pays off even moreso if you're getting more use out of Multishot. The main con of the talent is that you might not get the most out of the cooldown reduction due to your inability to sustain the manacost, but the build here includes a decent amount of INT and mana, and the Wand/Raindrops cover your needs even more (not to mention your neutral item).
In the sense that drow is a total blanket solution to everything someone does, silence and anti invis, it’s way more casually useful than the alternative. Multi shot is actually a low enough cool down to farm just fine. You don’t need it to farm if you hit like a truck and manta is on the menu for farming. Farming is fine. I’m worried about invis supports or Assasins not afk farming 1 sec faster every other creep camp.
@@YinYangBellno offense but that’s not a solution, it’s not realistic in the itemization sense ( you should fill slots with wraiths) and in the number of casual ganks sense. You can’t buy enough dust for every moment. Invis gust has a way higher rate of usability and ganking over and over esspecially supports. You can’t afford dust over and over for every messily support kill. Or some random person your chasing around all over the place. Gust has insane potential for outplay.
