    Hi all! I'm seeing questions about recipe measurements. Here they are:
    1 cup roughly chopped cilantro leaves
    1 jalapeño seeds removed and roughly chopped
    1 clove of garlic roughly chopped
    1/4 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about the juice of 2 limes)
    3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 cup avocado or canola oil
    And, I'll start including text with measurements for future videos. Hopefully, that will be helpful for yall! ❤️

    Just a note: extra virgin olive oil bitterness comes when being emulsified at high temp's - generally. high temp occurs when you blend it with room temperature ingredients at high speed.

    I had some cilantro that I needed use or it would go to waste... and didn’t have time to go shopping so I swapped the limes for vinegar, I also didn’t have Mayo and it turned out still super tasty. Since I didn’t put Mayo it had slight bitter after taste so I put some honey in the mix and that fixed the after taste
    Thanks for the recipe !

    I don't eat anything that bites my mouth so would I need to add some green bell pepper or would it taste the same by omitting all pepper?

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen
      @TheAnthonyKitchen  4 роки тому +1

      No, unfortunately, it will not taste the same if you omit a hot pepper like a jalapeno or serrano and replace it with a sweet pepper, like a bell pepper! However, you might be on to something delicious! I would recommend subbing in a roasted red bell pepper instead of raw bell pepper. You can typically find them in a jar in the international food aisle. Also, if you take care to seed the jalapeno well, they are typically not too spicy for most! Hope this helps and happy cooking 😊

    If you want an oil that has no after taste, or bitterness, get California Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Walmart...not California, but California Ranch. Real olive oil. Very mild taste.

    Can you do without the oil ?

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen
      @TheAnthonyKitchen  3 роки тому

      I think there's enough mayonnaise in there to serve as the binder/emulsifier, so you might try just adding in a splash of water to thin it out if you aren't using the oil :) Happy cooking!

    You don't want to "double up" on serano chili as they are hotter than jalapeno.

    … I like the idea of using fresh avocado with Greek yoghurt … if you’re going to use mayonnaise, it should be fresh made …

    Instead of mayonnaise, vegan yogurt , dairy yogurt, kefir is better
    No oil

    You're a hot looking lady,...that's what I noticed the most. But I'm trying to learn how to cook and make food with more variety and flavor. I'm a gym rat, so I'm a little concerned about the mayo and oil, but I see some suggestions below regarding substitutes like possibly Greek yogurt and avocado. I'll monkey around with this and see what I can come up with. Thank you for the excellent video.
