I'm a fan of always testing with a body. Even if you gotta use masking tape. The weight of the body is a big factor in how a crawler performs. Any crawler will obviously perform better when there is no body....so you don't REALLY know until you've got the body on. Plus it protects those valuable electronics if it goes belly up. LOL.
so true, this will be my first body with magnets, so I want to make sure its solid, not so much for the body but to protect the rig like you said. 👍🏻
@@leesrcs I tried the body post magnets. It was cool but body came off too easy. A year later a friend of mine mounted a cab only body with a 3d printed magnet holder bolted to the chassis so it would hold the rear of the cab. Then velcro under the front hood. Super strong setup there.
Awesome brother can’t wait to see the two different setups on how they work
yep, hopefully we can get them out soon.
Good looking rock crawler rig
thanks, its coming along, now on to testing and tuning
I just ordered me a set of those axles from Walmart with some gift cards I found in a drawer so in my eyes they were free 😂
ha, there ya go ! helps justify a budget build
Interesting build. Curious enough to subscribe. Let's see where this one goes!
thanks so much, all part of the fun, seeing what works and what doesn't.
Coming along nicely, buddy.
You can always gear up on the pinion to get a bit more speed, too.
yes, I was thinking that myself, I may try that before I spend the money on a different motor
Pretty cool build sir. Thanks for the information
its turning out good so far, we'll see how it performs
You should do a video on, if this is someone’s first crawler what would you build?
Most of my videos are builds anyone can follow along with and copy what I do, and most of mine are cheaper budget builds. The only other thing I could do is a video pf what I look for when Im starting a build maybe.
@@leesrcs I just looked thru your videos and now I see what you are talking about. I guess my biggest problem is do I buy a name brand rtr for my first one or do I put one together?…. Which I have no problem doing.
@@trialnterror If your just getting into RC I always suggest the Remo hobbies 1/10, they are RTR on Amazon and run around $200, if you want a full LCG rig the best way is build it yourself
Great build lee.
thanks so much, now to see how it works
@@leesrcs yw cant wait to see how it works.
Big lee how is the rig im building one of this i have a big batery do you think that will work?
you can make anything work, just depends on what you expect performance wise. There is plenty of room for a full size pack but you can get just as much power from a small pack.
0:54 Nice and neat??
😆, out of the way at least
