Nice clean up!!! I love flake tools! The chipping on them amazes me, so tiny. Great saves.

Nice finds! I was born in Indianapolis and lived in Hancock Co. till I was 12. I moved to Kentucky and have hunted artifacts here for over 30 years. I have quite a few Ky artifacts, but only one from Indiana. I found it while I was de-tasseling corn during the summer when I was about 15. It's an Indiana Green Thebes. It's beat up a little, but I love Attica chert. I've been wanting to return and do some hunting. I would love to put together a collection of Indy artifacts. If you ever want buddy to hunt with, give me a holler. Thanks for sharing your finds!

Nice selection of tools. Some will agree with me and some won't but the super polished stones, in my opinion, are used for burnishing leather. You go to many different places in the world and indigenous people use them today. I've read in several books about the first settlers talking about natives using them. These settlers talked about the massive amount of labor it took to produce what they called the most supple leather they had ever seen. Stay safe brother.

Those are really nice hammer stones. That purple one may be an eggstone kinda looks like one. Really cool looking stone.👍

That yellow square stone ... Does it leave yellow color for paint when ya rub it with mild abrasive and water or grease ? For pigments maybe IDK, but I've seen red, black, orange stones that will

How does the "fire starter" work? I've never heard of that tool.

Not quite sure how it works I believe they put the stone in the ground and they had a stick they grinded into the stone were the hole is and must had some kind of material in the hole when they turn the stick the material got hot and caused a small little hot coals

@@Rocks123 Thanks - That is how it's done with wood (watch "Naked an Afraid") but it seems that 2 pieces of wood would be easier! They probably used a small bow to spin the vertical wood stick. I appreciate your response! There seemly always would be a little charcoal from the last fire to start the next fire.
