  • Skiing where the air is thin at 3200 meters of altitude!
It was my second day in Almaty and after hiking up to the Three Brothers on the first day, it was fitting to go enjoy the best ski in the region at Shymbulak Ski Resort, approximately 20 minutes outside Almaty, Kazakhstan!
Special Thanks for the music by:

Simply wow!!! Great job with this video. Almaty has special place in my heart because that is where I was born and grew up. Cable Car to Chimbulak is a new thing, before it was built we used to get to Chimbulak only by shuttle or hiking from Medeo. Thank you for sharing this awesome video and bringing back so many good memories.

great video! the mountain looks amazing. we're snowboarders but we havent gotten any snow here in CA, but everywhere else in the states is getting hammered right now. we hope to be able to get on slopes soon. vodka (or any alcohol) is an absolute must to help ease the pain a little...and to warm up of course! lol looked like a great time! thanks for sharing! cheers~ sara

There is blonde, there is brunette, if you have a redhead(or beard) brother, you can start a boy band. 😀 I can't believe it's your first time making videos, they are gorgeous. And hell, I missed Niko.

Ah man!! I REALLY miss skiing! I haven't been in 8 years now!! Used to go every year - I only ever experienced one ski trip at an age where I was old enough for vodka in the morning haha! Nothing beats ski holidays! Great fun, great food and.... vodka? LOL

Never trying snowboarding nor skiing. Must definitely be a good and hard workout. Hopefully get one day.

Looking good on the hills guys, not like skiing at Camp fortune or Vorlage!!!! I think the highest mountain I skied on was Jay Peak in Vermont, not sure how it compares to where you guys are. Have fun guys!!! ;)

Nope can't ski anymore, my knees are too bad now. I went there in my young days. The summit is 3850 feet, I remember getting up there in a gondola, it was very cold, in those days we had the old fashion clicking camera and they were too frozen to work. The change in temperature on the mountain was drastic has we came down.

I'm heading up here in 2 weeks! I live out in western china and this is a hop, skip, and a jump away for me... do you think there is enough fun here to spend 3 days of boarding??

Yea for sure man! But what you might want to do is fit a day at the spa in the middle. I went to Tao Spa, beautiful! And it's possible to find people selling entrance tickets to the spa for under $15 US. Check it out! Also if you dont have a place to stay yet, European Backpacker's Hostel is amazing. Ive linked their facebook page in the description of my latest video!
