Follow our channel for more great finds like these. The owner has contacted us and said people have already come in, so some of these bottles are gone.
Finally!!! A chicago Bourbon channel.
We're happy to fill that bourbon hunting void. Thanks for watching!
Just in IL is awesome
Blackbourbonfamily is in Chicago. Don't know if they do hunting videos.
We found out about them on a live recently. Don't think we've seen any hunting videos from them though 🤔
A museum with those prices. Some great bottle but at secondary prices plus.
I think the owner said he's willing to negotiate sometimes. The prices on some of the regular stuff is pretty decent, even with a few below market value, so there's plenty of opportunities to stock up on shelfers.
My friend and I live in the La Crosse area and we keep talking about making it down to Chicago and northern Illinois for some bourbon hunting. We don't get the Benchmark products up here except I think the No 8. We also don't get Early Times Bonded.
While I still kind of keep my eye out on bourbon, I've mostly moved on to Irish whiskey, Armagnac and brandy. Blue Spot 7 Year Cask Strength, Redbreast 12 Year Cask Strength, Delord 25 Year Bas Armagnac, Marie Duffau Napoleon Bas Armagnac, Marie Duffau Hors d'Age Bas Armagnac, Darroze 20 Year Bas Armagnac and Christian Brothers Sacred Bond 4 Year Bottled-In-Bond brandy are some of the bottles I'm looking for. (But not necessarily all at the same time 😂 that would be a small fortune!). Availability of some of the these products are sparse or non-existent up here.
Did I previously see a 'Lucky Cat Maneki-neko' japanese whiskey from one of your videos? Where the cat's paw moves up and down? I have no idea if I would even like the whiskey but the bottle is awesome!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! It's a bummer that you don't get some stuff down there, but if you ever plan on taking the trip, please reach out to us. Armangac variety is a little more scarce up here, but we can think of a few places you might like. We can definitely get you the Sacred Bond, easy!
We love Redbreast Cask Strength, too! And that was definitely a Lucky Cat at the Liquor Barn in Wheeling. We absolutely love Lucky Cat and have a few bottles and backups in our collection. Have you tried some of their previous releases?
Great Video. So many bottles i would love to get my hands on
Let us know what samples we can send you!
@@BondingOverBourbon awesome... will do
Very nice store
Very happy that this one is in our neighborhood. Thanks for watching!
Great Video! Nice Haul 😮
Thanks for watching guys! Maybe we can do a group hunt video one day if you're looking to cross some bottles off your checklists.
Great video!! I recommend you all try out the Joseph magnus it's a excellent pour!! Cheers
Thanks for watching and for the advice. We'll definitely have to pick one up soon
Great Video again!!! I'll be heading to the Foremost liquors today to grab some 1792 bottles.
Thanks for watching! Grab them while you can, and ask to try their Corazon anejo! It's pretty damned good for the price.
Great looking store. Noted good prices on some and higher prices on others compared to current Texas prices in my AO. Examples noted is your Russels 10 is 44.99 here but our Weller green label Special Reserve is 33.99
Thanks for watching! The market here is definitely interesting. There's such a wide range of pricing across the city, so we like to show everything clearly and let people decide what seems reasonable.
Redwood Empire Lost Monarch is the one the got me really hooked on drinking “good stuff.” I know it’s a bourye, and I really like it. It started my journey.
Love a good bourye! We'll have to revisit this one. Thanks for sharing!
Pipe Dream is my go to Redwood. Could be an everyday drinker.
That's definitely the one we're picking up. We tried the regular pour of Pipe Drea and liked it, but wanted more depth that we know the CS will have
Only one in 1000 “Speculated” Makers Bottles get the Shoulder deep wax! Thats why they are rare. I have 2 for trade
Thanks for watching and replying! We've heard of this happening, but neither of us could figure out why anybody cares if it's the same juice regardless of the amount of wax. Seems similar to collecting misprint books or band posters in a negative color profile 🤷♂️
Would love to see a short of reviews of the wild turkey and Elmer T Lee, had the chance to get the later and passed it up, still kicking myself over it.
Consider it done! Sorry it didn't work out the first time, but I'm sure the opportunity will strike once more.
Alot of good picks to be had on those shelves 😂
Too many for one wallet to handle. Thanks for watching!
I have only tried Redwood Empire Pipe Dream, the liquor store I go to only carries Pipe Dream, it’s pretty good.
We'll have to pick one up soon. Thanks for the feedback!
An EH Taylor SiB at 89.99 sounds beautiful to me
Definitely worth grabbing
I might need to take a field trip up there from NWI on one of my days off...I've never seen the 1792 12 year anywhere over here.
Thanks for watching! If you make the trip up here, bring a wishlist, and we'll help you hunt.
noice hunt lots of options. just subbed cheers
We love this place for all the variety. Thanks for watching and following!
Just found your Channel, Liked and Subbed. I started mine back in November. Cheers and Great Content.
Thanks for watching and subbing! I'll have to check yours out later today, too.
which foremost did you go to? the one near me just closed
This is the Acadia location on North Ave
Blue Ash.. Never heard of that one .
After trying it at home, there's probably a reason for that. It's not bad by any means, but it wasn't very memorable or unique 🤷♂️
@@BondingOverBourbon thank you for sharing.
I was wondering about the regular bottle of JM also
Looks like you and I are both going to have to share notes when we try it.
That Dickel BIB is great , the foremost by me in Jeff park doesn’t have nearly the selection here…😢
That's a bummer! It might be worth the trip to stop by this one sometime.
I believe people look for dunkers the same reason they look for allocated stuff, or checking the proof on a JD SBBP, part of the hunt.
And from my understanding, Belle Meade will only be available at Nelson's Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, TN from now on.
Correct! There's a few left of the shelves here, but they're slowly disappearing.
🤔 good food for thought
I couldn't believe the bottles I was seeing! I hopped on their site, and they list CYPB at $1,300! Insane! Id still love to even see those bottles on a shelf though.
It's definitely a double edge sword. They might be willing to work with you a little bit, but either way the value you get on some of the non-allocated stuff makes it work checking out.
Hey, I found that JD 12 you were looking for, but it was pretty pricey. It was somewhere between $350-$400. Let me know if you're still interested.
@BondingOverBourbon Ouch! You are incredible for actually following up! I am actually bidding on one right now on UA that I'll get for sub-$200. Thanks though!
Not a problem! We hope you get it. Let us know if there's anything else you're looking for in the future.
@@BondingOverBourbon You guys rock
that turkey is better than the elmer all day long lol
We don't doubt that one bit. WTKS has so much copious flavor that it's ridiculous.
@@BondingOverBourbon unfortunately they are getting harder to find :/
We know a few places where we can get the regular release, but idk if they do store picks anymore.
there is no way that EHTaylor single barrel was only $90, compared to the secondary prices on just about everything else behind that glass. I personally might have caved and bought one, even if MSRP is around $60. Great video showcasing what Chicago has to offer. I remember being impressed with the selection when I visited back in late 2022, at least compared to what's found here in Dallas
Thanks for watching! Apparently, somebody drove 1.5 hours all the way from Rockford the morning that the video dropped. They bought it for the price in the video and after that the price was changed.
Was visiting family in DFW a few weeks ago. Picked up a Weller SR in Arlington for $39 at ALL Liquor. A JDSB Barrel Proof Rye out in Venus at Liquor Depot for $61. They also had everything allocated you can thing of there in Venus, All Weller products minus the Antique 107, including the Kosher's. GTS, EH Taylor's, etc. But your right, the EH Taylor SB at that price is a no brainer especially what we see it here in Florida for.
@@dagrnsnake Very competitive pricing for the WSR and JDSBBPR. We definitely would have grabbed 1 or 2 of each. Thanks for watching!
@@BondingOverBourbon I am from Rockford and was honestly about to do this after watching your video! I'm happy you said something! Lol great video! Cheers!
@c.j.miller2665 thanks for watching and giving us feedback! Appreciate you 🙏
The corazon... Was it a Reposado or Anejo?? And how much they wanted for?? I recently got the Anejo in Weller Barrel for $35...worth it 👍
Thanks for watching! They were anejo bottles and about the same price (if I remember correctly). It's also definitely worth it.
which foremost location is this? Great selection I'll definitely stop by!
Foremost Arcadia
3301 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60647
Please let them know that we sent you 🙏
@@BondingOverBourbon awesome thanks that's 15 minutes from me!
We're basically neighbors! Maybe we can do a group hunt one day.
was this over the weekend? might have to run over there after work
Thanks for watching! We filmed this Sunday afternoon. What are you looking to grab?
I think finding a dunker is like the whiskey enthusiasts version of Pokémon Go 🤷. Cheers
This is the best response possible. Our nerd hearts totally get it now, every dunker is a Pikachu 😂
knob 12 for 80 bucks lol its 48 in ny
Thanks for watching! This is the only thing we've heard of that's cheaper in New York 😂
@@BondingOverBourbon we actually have great liquor prices in the southern tier just north of PA.
That makes more sense. When we went to NYC, the price of almost everything was inflated by 50-75% compared to prices out here in Chicago. Except for Michter's and Window Jane, which were surprisingly cheap just about everywhere from Manhattan to Brooklyn.
@@BondingOverBourbon Our prices here in the Binghamton area are almost all below MSRP beside your typical BT products.
So jealous! We wish we had it that good.
Old forester for 199$ please tell me you got it!
We thought about it very hard but ultimately left it there. We went back there today, and it was still in the case. If it's there the next time we go, we have to grab it.
Elmer T Lee the gem of the Buffalo Trace? Mode like the overpriced spoiled stepchild
Lol you might not be wrong, but just like a literal gem, it is often really hard to find in the wild and often really expensive. Thanks for watching!
How much was the Old Forester Birthday Bourbon (about 18:39 in your video)?
Either $900 or $1k, can't remember exactly.
@@BondingOverBourbon699.99
What was the name of the store where u got the wild turkey pick?
Foremost liquor arcadia
3301 w north avenue
Sorry for the delay, we actually got it at Binny's.
Thanks for moving slow.
Not a problem! Thanks for watching 👀
Did that say $299 for cypb?
The price tags at this place are a little wonky for the 2 cases on the right, the tags are on the top of the items rather than below it. It's going for $600.
@@BondingOverBourbon dang I almost drove down from Milwaukee in an instant lol
I wouldn't blame you! But if it was only $300 we wouldn't have left it there 😁
@@BondingOverBourbon I wouldn't have left CYPB on the shelf either if it was marked for $300. I've never seen it in Chicago for under $600
I can find I.w harper 15 yr for 69.99 at Bob's liquor 😅
Another helpful reminder that we need to go there. Can you shoot us an email with a maps pin? Our ADHD brains need many different forms of reminders.
@@BondingOverBourbon 4559 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640 .. the best I could do friend 🥃 cheers
@@louidaiv2387 you're the best! Thanks so much.
@@BondingOverBourbon I found a Elijah Craig single barrel store pick small batch at 35 bucks behind the regular small batch. Look around hidden gems everywhere in that store
@@louidaiv2387 Holy 💩 that's a really good deal!
I think I saw that correctly that Foremost had $90 single barrel. Very solid price, or great for a trade!
Thanks for watching! Which single barrel are you referring to?
@@BondingOverBourbon I swore it said EH single barrel for $90 and the small batch for $110-$120, which I thought strange. Maybe I was reading their tags wrong.
@FiveStarMan5 yeah we were a little confused by the tags too. Some are above, some are below, and a few seem too good to be true.
Side note: the SiB is gone I think. Someone drove about 1 1/2 hours from Rockford to get it this morning.
@@BondingOverBourbon I went after work and the tag has been changed to 199
That's a bummer! Still not the worst deal I've seen before.
