When you said that 455 is meant to be operated by a single-decker bus, there is a small diversion you can make to avoid the low bridge. I only noticed it a few days ago, but before you go under the bridge after Ampere Way, turn left onto the sliproad. Head over to Lombard Roundabout and then go back where you came from. You'll go over the bridge and then still end up at the Purley Way stop. You might get a bit of a delay, but it adds to the realism. (Forgive me if I'm wrong here, I don't know much about buses in London as I'm from Northern Ireland)

I drive the 198 and TR3 because of croydon+ but when I don't have that I drive the 198 and 289
i once drove the 264 and got almost 2k points (singlr journey and i have screen capture)
455 is the best route because i got
