One of my favorite movies of all time. Wish I could see it for the first time again and watching your reaction kind of made me feel like I was. Can't believe so few people have reacted to this movie!
The best thing about Notting Hill is that the supporting characters all have personality that make them standout and unique. They are not just background characters. I think Anna never intended to fall in love with Will. Its only after she and Will interacted after the juice spill that she fell for him because for the first time probably in her life she found someone who treated her like a normal human being than a movie star. The second time she left, she felt kind of betrayed inadvertently because she came to Will to avoid the ravage press surrounding her tapes only to land in a bigger mess due to Spike. But at the you genuinely saw that she had truly fell for him completely. It also shows that Anna, even though she is and lives like a celebrity, is also flawed and is not perfect like the "Goddess" everyone claims she is. And Will is the first person who treated her in a fair way. And that blew her away. Whether its his honesty in the book store or the apricots in honey, etc.
Not big fan of romcoms, but ♥ this! Mostly Indie ones or others by same writer (Love Actually/Girl in the Cafe) Emily Mortimer aka 'perfect girl' looks amazing in this film!
A few years ago I had a two week vacation in London. Made a point to go to Notting Hill and see the filming locations. Interestingly, the blue door is there, but it is a single story building. No flats upstairs because no upstairs! At the time there was an ad campaign on for I think perfume. Julia Roberts was the spokesperson, so her face was all over Heathrow airport, busses, etc. Just like in Notting Hill. It was surreal. Surreal, but nice.
I loved it when u said u didnt like the dress or cake and your friend agreed but with a little expression of disgust at you dissing one of her favorite movies! Lol
Hugh Grant is still attractive now in his 60s. I saw the press tour of the latest Dungeons and Dragons movie which Hugh is in, and the way the other cast members were hanging off every word he was saying and the way he would cut them apart into uncontrollable laughter with his sarcastic British humor and charm is just effortless.
According to the script book for this movie, Richard Curtis originally planned to have the Grant character pick an ordinary girl over the movie star. The ordinary girl got morphed into his sister in this version. I think she's his sister anyway. I forget.
This movie is pretty interesting. I go back and forth on if the two leads actually have chemistry. When they are in that gated garden, and the music comes on, it sorta feels like the song is supposed to get the audience to believe there is a deep connection rather than the writing or performances.
25:55 the movie's soundtrack is one of the best. When You Say Nothing at All by Ronan Keating and the end-credit song You've Got A Way by Shania Twain are highlights.
49:40 the best romantic line of all time. I dont care what anyone says. And that was not a plea for love only. That was also asking for forgiveness from Will for all the things Anna put him through.
32:08 well I think they were in a relationship, because I dont think Anna knew that she would meet this common British guy that would sweep her away. But she probably did not get the time to approach Alec Baldwin's character Joe to break it up because she was on a high with Will. Plus also she didn't know Joe was gonna show up at the hotel without notice
47:06 Julia Roberts is at her prime in this movie. Roger Michell the director insisted Roberts have a minimal make-up in this movie and it shows how naturally beautiful she was.
"What happened to Keith Whitley death? Keith Whitley - Wikipedia Whitley was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, at the age of 34. I always thought Julia seemed somewhat reticent in this film. Maybe she was just giving the glory to her British performers, but I expected her to be slightly more forward.
Sorry but a cuppa is the only cuppa that fixes everything...Ifans is in the film Danny Deckchair, which takes place in NSW...the fantasy of Intimate Strangers...Actually, in the Victorian era, Queen Vic's era and not the state,, those who wore makeup, and that category included prossies, were considered whores by many of the "better" classes...Love the stupid American film--something a lot of them are--parodies and satires...
There was a time I memorized most of the line in this movies. That's how much I enjoy it. It's simple, it's funny, it's romantic, it's a classic.
"Don't ye think 'tis a good time to ... slip her one?"
Love this show, sadly it went under the radar here on youtube. Enjoyed your reaction.

Ronan Keating recorded 'When You Say Nothing at All' for the soundtrack of this movie. Later on, he also included it on his first solo album.
Keith Whitleey song...

The roommate in this one was also in a movie called The Replacements with Keanu Reeves. It’s hilarious, should check it out.
My other favourite Rhys Ifans performance is in The Replacements!! A great feel-good movie from around the same time that also stars Keanu Reeves
It's never rude to snack while watching a movie. It's only rude not to share! 😂

Spike is played with Rhys Ifans who plays the Lizard in the Amazing Spider-man.
55:00 what did you guys think of the soundtrack, especially the Shania Twain song at the end.

You have a beautiful singing voice.
_When Harry Met Sally_ is probably my favorite unless we go way back.
47:06 Julia Roberts is at her prime in this movie. Roger Michell the director insisted Roberts have a minimal make-up in this movie and it shows how naturally beautiful she was.
The obsession with feet was just bizzare.
I've seen this movie many times, I do not remember feet... maybe you have an issue with feet? Fun movie though
Another good romcom is DECKCHAIR DANNY, starring Rhys Ifans, the goofy roommate. Sweet, funny film from down under.

This is based on Uma Thurman's life. Alec Baldwin played Gary Oldman also
No. It isn't.
my fav romantic movie
Did you notice the wedding cake had a violin and a goat?
I always thought Julia seemed somewhat reticent in this film. Maybe she was just giving the glory to her British performers, but I expected her to be slightly more forward.
27:15 ua-cam.com/video/21C_7bcQfns/v-deo.html by the way Ronan Keating and Alison Krauss did a duet of the song in 2020.
Never heard so many stereotypical misconceptions of uk life than I heard from the girl on the left.
Yes, hilarious.
Great reaction, not seen the film for years 👋👍🇬🇧
Thanks for the support. We love a good rom-com!
The original "When You Say Nothing at All" - Keith Whitley, the singer/songwriter... ua-cam.com/video/xNU7iIdw7Ss/v-deo.html
This is an unusual romcom as it's from the guy's point of view solely.
She used him and then gets mad at him about it.

The white girl is cute
More Scrubs please..
Next video 👍🏾
C'mon ladies, you're talking about water and missing the whole scene with Baldwin. Gotta be more professional than that... there's a camera on you.
Cheers mate. We’re not professional film critics, just two mates enjoying a movie together but thanks 👍🏾
