Alfred Sisley: A collection of 419 works (HD)
Description: "Alfred Sisley is one of Impressionism's most unjustly overlooked artists. This may perhaps be due to the fact that Sisley straddled two different cultures, having been born to English parents in France and later dividing his time between the two countries. As such, though he worked as one of the key figures in French Impressionism, he remained something of an outsider. Unlike many of his peers, who examined urban life, industrialization, and people, Sisley was almost exclusively a painter of landscapes, a subject from which he rarely strayed. What's more, there is a moodiness and distinct colorism in his works that suggest an influence from earlier periods of English and French art, especially the Barbizon school. As such, Sisley created his own unique brand of Impressionism that foreshadowed many of the new painting styles that would emerge in Europe after the turn of the twentieth century."

I have lived in Perigord for 18 years and I still see so many of these scenes every day on my walks. Alfred Sisley depicted the French countryside so succinctly in his art, it is almost heart breaking to see the beautiful scenes through his eyes.

I found a cat curled up on our front porch in the cold and rain. I took him in. He bonded with me and no one else. He was my constant companion for 15 years. When he died, I was inconsolable. I mourned his death for years. When I saw this video, I wept. Sisley showed me that all living creatures, including us, are but a multiple of slides at a given space in time. We are not the masters of this world. We are but a part of the whole, which continues to unfold.

Beautiful work. I'm amazed at how observant he was of cloud formations and captured so many conditions of the sky. Something we don't see as much of in other artist's work. We can feel the speed of his brush work. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning collection, the capture of light, mood, and sensation is what puts the impressionists above all others and Sisley is possibly the finest

    Işık mükemmel ötesi
    vurgulanmış, perspektif
sanki o yolu katediyormuş gibi capcanlı.
Renkler günün her saatinde ayrı bir neş'e.
    Empresyonist resim bir
    aşk.
    Hem de en tutkulusu.
Işık ve gölgenin teyakkuzu insanı ürpertecek denli güçlü.
Gökyüzü ve Deniz...Işıl ışıl ..Her an gülümsüyor.
    gülümsüyor..
Annesine bakan bir çocuk kadar masum 💙
    Alfred Sisley empreyonizm aşmış,
    Eksprestyonist bir ressam,
Noktaların devleştiği, bir tabloyu ancak o yaratabilir.

Sisley almost always shows ' the way ' on his works, even on the flood.

  • @christopherblack7342

The painting at the 13:22 mark is by far his greatest masterpiece. The video doesn't quite do it justice. I find Sisley's paintings are a great picture into the past of certain points in time, particularly the floods of his day. Painting quality for me however lacks just a bit from the peers of his time in that he restrained from his color palette whereas his contemporaries embraced it. Monet not quite so much in his early paintings but by embracing color and light it allowed him to rise to his place of prominence as leader of the impressionist's.

    L'art de Sisley
    ]
