Join me for an adventure on one of Scotlands most popular mountains. The awful winter weather got to me on this one and it made for an interesting hike. Hope you enjoy
Stunning - def made the right call - no pint risking yourself or others - no fun being in a white-out. The mountain ain't going anywhere! Spectacular views, thank you!
It sucks when you have to turn back. Risking your life to fight the elements is never a wise choice. Great video, nonetheless, and stunning view of the lake from above. Thank you for sharing.
Enjoyed the video. Stunning views as you ascended especially looking at the peaks covered in snow. You definitely made the right call to return to the lower slopes rather than battle the wind and snow. Best wishes.
Great to see the views of the Loch, and the steps up and down. Done similar, as within 50 m of the top of Skuddaw in the Lake District, and strong winds meant I could hardly crawl, but have since reached the summit in a tee shirt, with no winds. Another wise, excellent video.
Well done young fella great adventure and a mature decision in bad conditions total respect for you even though you made the right decision i agree it’s still annoying being so close even if you have done it before took me 3 attempts to get a view up there but boy was it worth it cracking hike and you live to fight another day we’ll done 👍
Good call and a reminder that because a mountain is 'popular, touristy or whatever' doesn't mean it is without risks when the good old Scottish weather turns the screws on.😤 I'm reminded of Ben More and Stobinian, another popular hill pair but due to the steep topography of the direct approach has a sad history of accidents and fatalities even in benign conditions. But great views and a solitary raven, enjoyed 😊
Great decision to turn back and you still got those lovely views. Definitely need ice axe and crampons for the peaks in winter, even as a precautionary measure. Did Ben Lomond many years ago in winter in similar conditions - ok until the last 100 meters and then was in the snow line and kicking steps in the snow in the last 100 metres. Needed goggles because of the spin drift.
Those views over Loch Lomond are always just so special - thank-you for settling for them on this occasion. Those mountains to the east could be somewhere like Ben Venue - just to the southwest of the southern end of Loch Katrine, or maybe even Ben Ledi, which is the one just north of Callander, on the A84. Ben Vorlich and Stuic a Chroin are a bit to the northeast of that, so maybe not so visible from that side of Lomond?
Great effort man! It's better to be safe than sorry anyways. Still pretty nice views from the way up and down! Amazing video as always, beautiful shots with original sounds! Thanks for the regular uploads mate
I would love to hike up Ben Lomond, but I think that I would panic, especially on the ridge. It's not the heights. I panic if I think that I'm going to fall. It's always better to stay safe.

Always best to be safe and still some great views of the loch .
Amazing views and ''dodgy'' weather! Nice vid', thanks.

Thanks mate, was a tough choice to make at the time but glad I did it

It really is mental how much harder poor weather can make a hike
It was a wild one that day mate, I was in the group of three you passed! Defo the right call to turn round!
100% mate. Was nice to meet you as well, hope you get the chance to get up it again at some point

Yeh it’s always a tough choice to make but like you said live to fight another day😂😂
A favourite local hill. Can't remember how many times I've been up it. New Years day was an annual walk.

100%, still need to be careful when out in the hills. Thanks for the comment 👍

Yeh it can get pretty mental in winter. I did have an ice axe with me but accidentally left it in the car😂😂 so wasn’t taking any chances
@@ScottishSummiteerOh we've all been there... normally 2 hours before I remember I've left something in the car 🤣

If you take the tourist trail it’s a simple walk to the summit.
You won’t fall over the sides.
@@dougieranger It is something that I will try to work towards. Something for when there is calm weather.
@@AScottishOdysseyDefinitely wait for the better weather. Take a few necessities in a day sack and just enjoy yourself.
You have the perfect combination of narrorating over the video and talking in it. I love that theres no music to.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it
