Fendi Peekaboo is one of my favourites but I prefer the original shape. I have 2 and no slouching issues. Both are minis and durable. I wouldn’t hesitate to get a third! Fendi makes very good bags and IMO better quality than what Chanel is selling now. I do love my flaps but I’m very happy with my peekaboos, don’t be so afraid of it but it sounds like it’s not the bag for you.

This bag is so beautiful! If you don’t normally carry your handbags on the crook of your arm, you can ignore this. Wear it crossbody or hold it by the handle. If the scratching is a huge issue, return it and get something more comfortable. There are many more beautiful and comfortable bags! :) thanks for another great review.
Hi! I just bought exact same bag as you! I love this design. I have the peekaboo medium and it has the same glazing on the sides and I’ve had the medium for 5 yrs, no issue with the glazing so far. So I think there shouldn’t be a problem with the glazing. I love this bag!!

I’ve been on the market for a modern luxury mini, and was almost going to go the Chanel boutique route again, but after this video I got the new Peekaboo in the mini size with the guitar strap and I’m obsessed. The quality is unmatched. You should go back for a mini!

I was resisting this mini but after your upload, I am tempted again 😂. I have been attracted to this shade and the nude shade recently..
Love the tortoiseshell features but wish they had used a matching shade for the glazing on such a light coloured bag. I think dark glazing on a light coloured bag cheapens it somewhat. I have a LV bag with a handle heavily glazed like this because two different leathers have been bonded together but it is super smooth. The fact this one actually drew blood is reason enough for a return or an exchange at least, but keep the strap from this one! There’s not as much glazing on the regular Iconic Peekaboo but then that could be too softly structured for you. Such a shame.
Your new Fendi looks really beautiful and is a classic bag and color, I think I would keep it but you have to know how you feel 💖

Definitely return it. I might be in the minority here, but this bag isn’t screaming $4400. A bag in this price point shouldn’t have so much glazing, that’s lazy and not luxurious. All the other bags you’ve compared it to look way more gorgeous, luxurious and worth the money. Plus you shouldn’t suffer being wounded by such an expensive bag! No no no!

Same! I do have bags that are glazed this much, but all of them are perfectly glazed. There isn’t one flaw to be found. Especially the bottom of this particular bag was 😣 you can see there isn’t put in much effort to create a flawless bag

Any thoughts on the leather getting scratched? I bought the Fendache collab one which is beautiful but I’m concerned about scratches
I absolutely love Fendi, I like the other version which is softer with grained leather. I always want one. I prefer Italian designs over French, I just love it ❤️
I think the softer version is probably more comfortable. Funny, I generally prefer French vs Italian designs, although they’re all beautiful aren’t they. 😉

I was considering the Fendi Peekaboo mini in black Selleria leather. Now I am having second thoughts especially the price point. Thanks for sharing.
These are the same issues I had when I tried it in store. I just found the glazing too thick and kind of ugly. My issue with pain was when I reached into the bag the closure would scrape the back of my hand every time! The SA was trying hard to get me to purchase and brought out several models but each was the same pain and friction when I stuck my hand in. Went right off my wishlist. I think you should return it, there will be other pink bags and you can get some tortoise shell sunglasses instead, maybe. Or an SLG with that hardware is Fendi comes out with it.

I’ve not heard of glazing issues on Fendis the way we have with LV. Also, I would imagine the handle would soften with use, and/or can use a twilly?
Unfortunately it’s not the handle, but the glazing on the handle that leaves a mark.

I have two mini peekaboos (in selleria and nappa) and, until your video, never even realized that the handle has glazing on both sides lol. But the handle glazing on both my bags are quite smooth on the edges, not sharp or rough at all, which I certainly would have noticed! Maybe see if other bags in this model have the same issue? It’s a gorgeous bag - and the swivel clasps are definitely an improvement. However, comfort is important!

I just bought two Brillant to replace two that I bought over thirty years ago. I much prefer them to any Fendi model and I highly recommend them.
I own the structured peakaboo but didn't have an issue with glazing. I am also planning to put a twilly to protect the handle from constant washing and using alcohol. I think the scratches comes from the knob, coz that's what happen with mine and I am really careful when I put my hand in to get something.
I think a twilly might help, and would make this bag look stunning!

I have a Fendi Iconic Peekaboo in the mini size in calfskin leather from 2019. Its structure has held up so far. Its a beautiful understated bag to add in your collection. Love the colour and the tortoise shell of your peekaboo! How unfortunate that it has caused you discomfort and pain. I am glad you are choosing comfort over form. I keep thinking of ordering the Peakaboo Essentially, i havent seen in real life but i think the peakaboo is a beautiful bag and that the Essentially shape might be the one for me.
The Essentially appears to be softer than this one and also much less glazing. 😉

A similar case happened to me that I had to return a Celine classic box bag. The square shoulder strap clip is so sharp scratched me so bad. Why I spent so much money on a bag I can't even enjoy so I decided to return it.
Ah yes, the square corners on the Celine classic strap are quite sharp!! My hair got caught in it once and after that, I always move the square down to the bottom so it doesn’t touch me. I agree with you, if it’s not comfortable, it’s not worth it. You’ll find another bag that you love more. 😉

huh? you are comparing double top handles with a single top handle design. if there bags with a single rolled top handle with glazing on 1 side, which side do you think the glazing should face?

When I saw your video I galloped upstairs to inspect my Peekaboo!😂 I have the original Peekaboo Essentially bag, in an elephant grey with gold hw, so it doesn't have the double glazing on the sides. I was alarmed by the way the top handle scratched your arm so I checked mine and it's very smooth with no rough edges. Maybe your particular model has this problem so, if you really love this bag (and it is exceptionally beautiful!) then take it back to the shop and ask the SA to show you a different one which has a smoother top handle. That may swing your decision.
So glad your Peekaboo doesn’t have the same issue! I really do think it’s just this new style. 😔 But it’s okay, I learned something new. I would’ve never noticed this type of detail on the handles before and now I’m aware. Thanks so much!
Love the peekaboo and have had my eye on it. I agree about the handle/glazing. I have the Prada Galleria small... love it! Similar to the peekaboo, kelly, birkin "lewk" but I feel it has benefits of all 3. Look of a birkin but has a strap. Strap is hooked on the sides so it's further apart and more comfortable than the closely spaced Kelly & Peekaboo. Easy in and out open pocket and then the 2 zip pockets for valuables. And it's about 1/2 the price of the peekaboo and way less than Hermes. Maybe I can have purse peace with my galleria ;)
Oh and I feel that the Pochette Metis handle is sharp on the sides. I live with it because the bag is my favorite and I rarely use the top handle as I wear it as crossbody. When I do use it to pick it up or hold it for any reason I always am reminded of the sharpness in my hand. If the primary way to hold onto it was sharp, that would be an issue for me. Wonder if any other peekaboos have softer handles?
I can tell you really love your Prada Galleria 👍 and that’s how I’d want to feel about this bag!
That bag and color is gorgeous! I have two Mini Peekaboos, one in Python and one in Nappa. Both bag handles have glazing on both sides and both are super soft. It might just be that handle 🤞 I hope u can exchange it for a handle that doesn't scratch u. If u bought it in a Fendi boutique they don't do returns (Fendi on line does) so tell them your concern and ask the store manager to make an exception to give u a refund if u can't find one that doesn't scratch u. Just so everyone is aware this is the Fendi Peekaboo iseeu. Compared to the ‘fendi peekaboo’ which has a slightly different shape. I think one of the reasons they brought out the iseeu was to prevent the slouching that occurs as the bag is more structured at the top. I have this exact bag in white and no glazing issues to date after a year. I haven’t heard glazing issues for Fendi so I think it should be okay. You’re not the fist person I have heard say their bag scratches them but I haven’t personally found this at all. I absolutely love my bag so if you decide to keep I hope you grow to love it as well.
The peekaboo was my dream bag: I bought the medium original size in navy blue with exotic leather... but actually I don't go for it very much as it is too large for my needs nowadays. It happened to hurt my arm once: the corner of the turn lock scratched me, as I was reaching the inside of the bag. Mine is a heavy bag indeed... I've kept it after all because it was my all time dream bag, even though not very user friendly... the leather inside feels so amazing, its a shame yours doesn't feel like so. Anyways... very sad to hear your bad experience towards this beauty... hope you find another great bag for your bday. ^^

I would totally return with no hesitation! I agree with the other commenter that at the $4k+ price there is way too much glazing, just doesn’t look like it took that much craftsmanship. And no bag should ever make you bleed! That’s the most important reason to return. If it’s not comfortable you’re probably not going to reach for it that much. I have an Aspinal of London Midi Mayfair bag and the handle is also hard and has the stiff glazing and not that comfortable but it was on sale for under $600 and it’s a smaller bag for nighttime occasions so it’s not that heavy and I’m willing to deal. But at that price and that weight, I would return! It’s a pretty bag, for sure, but just looking at it side by side with the Lady Dior, which is comparable in price, the Lady looks way more quality with the craftsmanship, IMHO. You know what to do, you always do the right thing! 😁

I think it might be this one bag thing? I have peekaboo essentially not original peekaboo, the design and size are more closer to yours, but the handle glazing is very comfortable for me, I can run through my arms with my eyes closed no issues at all. Also I’m not feeling the side glazing in the middle, it suppose to be clean glazing on the edges only like the previous design, that part kinda cheapen the look of this bag.

I understand your concern about the glazing. Specially on the handle. The traditional peekaboo in the more expensive selleria variant is also glazed. Dayle’s Addiction owns 2, maybe you can ask her about Fendi’s glazing. Amazing Irene owns also the glazed selleria.

I’m not really a twilly girl but I think it’s a great idea for someone who loves that look!
Maybe you could try with a twilly, I've not heard about glazing issues from Fendi. The Hermes Kelly handle is also glazed on both sides instead of rolled. A beautiful bag and beautiful color none the less.
I noticed this too about the Kelly handle. But the Birkin handle is rolled with glazing only on one side so it doesn’t touch the arm, like my other bags. 🤔
2 lbs is the weight of my metal pot , totally agree that weight is a pain point

I’ve got two Peekaboos and not a single issue with glazing. My Montaigne BB ahead glazing that melted lol. Love the tortoise shell detail.

I live in a hot, humid country and have had such issues with melting/peeling off of glazing. I’m not a fan. And in this case I feel it makes the bag look cheap. If this were a $400, then fine, but not $4,000

There is glazing on both sides because it is a single-handle bag, like the Hermes Kelly. All the examples you showed have two handles that allow the glazing to hide in the inner side of the bag. But if the glazing scratched you, it should be of quality problem. May be you should ask for an exchange if you like it.
Thank you, you’re absolutely right about the single handle vs double handles. In this case, I do think the issue is the uneven glazing and the placement of the glazing (how it spills over too much on to the sides and rubs against the arm). Thank you for your input.
I’d return the bag if I’m having second thoughts about it. Gotta listen to that gut reaction, if you’re not 100% in love with it now, that most likely won’t change down the line.

Eh, $4400 is a lot for your number of reservations. It is a beautiful colorway for sure (I personally love lighter color bags and tortoiseshell), and I do like the closure and compartments; much better than a Birkin or Kelly of which I don’t like. Also not a fan of the thick dark glazing…would look better tone on tone. Let us know what you decide!
Totally agree that the contrast from the glazing against the lighter leather is not aesthetically pleasing at all. And I compared this to the Kelly 28 recently (nearly identical in size and shape) and I thought this Peekaboo held its own next to the Kelly. But the glazing and discomfort is a no no for me. 😔
Hi, how did Fendi handle your return? I commented on another video, and as I said, they refused to give me a refund. They claimed thar their policy is store credit only. Which is somewhat pathetic from a luxury brand. Specially after I found defects on the bag.
At first they refused the refund but when they saw the cut on my arm and how fresh it looked, they agreed to grant the refund. Luckily the manager was there and approved it.

I can tell that you don’t like it too much. I have the original mini peekaboo and I love it every time I use it. I think you can consider returning this and try on the essentially if you are aiming for a slightly bigger bag. This version does not look too good with all those edges. Don’t keep a bag that you are not 100% sure about it. It will end up sitting on the shelves and that would be a waste!
I can't get rover the glazing. At that price point ( because fendi is up there almost with chanel) their bags should be all stitched with leather .

Is is a beautiful bag but yeah there is so much glazing on such an expensive bag. Perhaps there is a better handbag out there with this sort of price. A handbag should be enjoyed not hurting you. Return it. Is heavy for me. lol... and yes strap does make the changes. When i used my Speedy 25 Damier Ebene, the strap is very stiff and not as comfortable (maybe is new too) when i used it with a guitar strap that i purchase from other online store (and managed to get exactly the same color as the handbag) it is so comfortable. Is really a game changer. Now i love it even more. For sure will return it.

I love the Fendi peekaboo but this version i’m not a huge fan of. I like the slouch. If you don’t like bag too much might as well return. If you like the structure you can look into Selleria leather instead of nappa.

To me the glazing would be what would worry me specially in the feed area because I would just rely on the metal part to prevent the bag from being damaged but then now the glazing it would be an added worry

It’s a beautiful bag, but since the glazing & weight are bothering you, return it.

I returned it right away because the glazing under the handle was so uneven. I showed the Fendi manager my arm where the glazing left a mark and they honored a refund. It was a beautiful bag but not meant for me.

Thank you for doing this review! I was considering this bag but didn’t know it cost over 4K. I would rather buy the coco handle with that price range. (I know it’s totally different style😄)
