I have this exact bag and it is a favourite. Definitely a classic and not going anywhere. I agree that it would be nice to have a size option between this one and the mini. I like medium sized bags though.
Best video that I've seen on the peekaboo. You literally nailed all the things that I think about this beautiful bag especially about not knowing which one is the front or back (it bothered me too), how noisy the hardware is when it is open and how your things bulges from the outside when you close the clasp. I still think that it's a classic but same with you, the mini is too small while the new essentially lacks the details that I want. Can't wait to see your entire collection!
Love your comments on practicality and usability; I find that I fall in love easily with a style but a bag that ticks all the practical/use boxes is the real keeper. Thanks for thinking of these issues way before I have to!
The way you achieve that peek-a-boo effect is that you have to keep undoing the straps like you did in this video, many times. Eventually your bag will start to have the peek-a-boo effect. I LOVE this bag. It's on my wish list.
Mine leans forward too and I always thought it was just me!! Great review I have the same size Peekaboo and love it but I tend to use the smaller mini peekaboo over this size
Wow I wonder if that is a common occurrence...the bag is basically symmetrical aside from one pocket inside so I never understood why it leaned forward. I'm considering buying the mini peekaboo now. There's a pink one with rose gold hardware that looks so pretty!
The way I differentiate between front and back is that I always leave the turn-lock closed on the back and unsnap the clasps and leave the front open to get the peek-a-boo effect on the front. Also, the peek-a-boo effect happens much more easily with the large size than the medium, but the large is quite big, and heavy, especially when full!
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC I have a large one in a military green with green suede inside. The middle bar and outside of turn-lock are covered in a blue, green, and yellow confetti looking resin, very pretty. I also have a medium sized one in a light kind of ice blue with a braided handle with bow detail on one side. The leather of that handle is a slightly darker blue and the middle partition bar is in that same blue with a pearlized sheen. Blue suede inside. :) I love them both though the medium is definitely more manageable for day to day. I have my eye on another from the new collection but trying to cut down on my bag purchases!
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Your review is spot on! I have the mini (selleria/asphalt gray). I’d prefer to wear it open on both sides but need to close the side against my body to prevent the hardware clinking. I do absolutely love it though despite the cons, as I’ve realized no bag is perfect 😊
Thanks so much for the informative video. I am seriously considering buying this bag, but my other option is the Lady Dior. I was so glad you talked about the difference in size of both the bags as being able to fit all my stuff into my new bag is a big deal for me. Still not sure what my final choice will be, but you have given me so much invaluable information.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC oh wow! I would have never guessed it was from river island. The whole time I was thinking that shirt must've broken the bank 😂 it looks so beautiful and elegant!!
Thanks! It’s funny because I get more compliments on my affordable clothing than more expensive pieces 😄 River Island has some amazing stuff - I love that they always come out with clothes that look much more expensive than they are.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Oh that'd fantastic, it shows you have a real eye for fashion and design! ☺️You're right, there are definitely some fantastic pieces available in high street fashion stores. I always like to check for the materials and fabrics used as well just to make sure they're more durable and look better put together. It makes such a difference!
I am always concerned about the napa leather...it's nice, but not sure if it scratches easily. But seems like you didn't really have issues with scratches. I'm usually very careful with my bags. I'm considering a mini peekaboo.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Ohh I didn't know they have calfskin. I'll definitely have to see it in person. Hope they still make calfskin leather peekaboo bags.
New subbie. 💕 I love this peekaboo. I have a medium too and I must say that it's impressive that yours after four years, didn't have much wrinkles around the turnlock area. Mine has ugly wrinkles and I was told that it's contributed by constant opening and closing the bag and it's normal. 🤔😣 My SA says that it adds to the beauty of the bag as it's supposed to be drooling down to creating the "peekaboo effect" which I don't like. 😜😅
Thanks for subscribing!!! ❤️ I prefer it without the drooping peekaboo effect too. I keep the tabs on the sides closed which might have helped? But that also makes the bag tighter and harder to reach into. Every bag has its quirks 😅
Great review! I have two mini peekaboo bags in selleria style and I’m looking at a larger style now. I want the slouchy look so I might stick with selleria... great colour!
I have seen quite a number of reviews on lady dior saying that it's hard to access the interior, how would you compare peekaboo with lady dior in terms of ease of use. I am thinking of getting a peekaboo iseeu small, appreciate your opinion. Thanks!
The Lady Dior I have is the one with the flap opening instead of the older zipper one so it’s not hard to get inside but compared to the Peekaboo it definitely is harder. The one annoyance with the Peekaboo is the turn locks kind of get in the way but over time you learn to avoid it.
Any and every metal hardware will be inevitable to getting scratches. For those who say that a con of a particular bag is that the hardware scratches is weird to me. Ofc it’ll scratch. It’s the nature of any metal. Jewelry, cutlery, appliances, tech.
While the hardware getting scratched is typical wear and tear, the extent that it gets scratched is different and that is due to the design. When you have a turn lock that is prone to unlocking all the time, the two parts will keep hitting each other and cause more scratches than you would usually get from just opening and closing a turn lock normally.
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC Thanks for replying. I you usually wear small bags/cross bodies, like simple bags such as Isabel Marant Nessah, but this one, like you said, is very ladylike and professional. I think everyone needs such a bag!
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC This is the hard part. I would prefer to buy preloved, and of what’s available, I like the one you have (except the one that’s available has microfiber interior) and there is a light brown one on eBay. I would prefer if it was more taupe-leaning brown, like a medium one featured in a vogue Taiwan video. Of the new ones on the Fendi site, I like the beige, and I prefer that striped strap, as it has no logos and I think a wider strap looks nice on the medium sized bag. However, the interior is white and logoed, and I’m worried it would get dirty. I’m also wanting a mini size; I really love the orangey brown one, but that is sold out, so I shall have to wait. Someone here on UA-cam has a chestnut-colored suede version that is gorgeous. I also like this bright green one that I have seen, so I’m hoping one day those will pop up in the pre-loved market.
Fendi does so many pretty colors it can be hard to pick 😅 Also it’s actually very strange because I looked at a few different websites to see what it said regarding the interior and some say suede while some say microfiber. And it’s the same bag...I wonder if some preloved sites just mislabeled it. It may be worth it to reach out to their customer service to confirm the material.
Thanks for watching! It doesn’t fit in the medium size. If you really had to, you can open the tabs on the sides and bend the paper a little bit to get it in sideways. But you would probably be better off with the large size.
I’ve used mine a lot for work and I think it fits very well in a professional environment. It’s also quite understated because there’s no flashy logos all over. So I say go for it and that color combo sounds amazing!
Agree with everything you said! I’ve been using mini bags most of the time for the past two years at least, and now even more since I’m only going out for short spans of time.

I’m definitely so pleased with how the leather has worn especially since it is a smooth leather so it’s not nearly as durable as a pebbled leather.

My vote is for the dove gray because of the tortoiseshell details 😆

Nope. I wore it a lot with jeans and it was perfectly fine.

It’s a beautiful style indeed. I no longer have this one but I’m definitely going to add a mini back into my collection.
I was wondering why I only see the beekaboo effect on the Fendi website or in the runway. It defeats the whole porpusd of the bag.
