      @@Pienimusta You'd probably want something with bigger 40mm stanchions for that stuff, like the Marzocchi Bomber 58.

    No 170 option on the Lyrik is kinda dumb imo, many ews racers used the 170 or even 180 lyrik, and I'd prefer a 170 lyrik over a zeb for most of my riding aswell.

      I totally agree! I wish there were more color options available. I feel like it would make marketing the fork easier. There are definitely people out there who will pay more or choose a fork over color options alone. I recently saw some dude selling a pair of factory 36's because the orange lowers didn't match his new bike so he bought a black pair instead lol.

    Which one is more comfortable, 2023 Zeb due to butter cups (but stiffer) vs 2021 Lyric Ultimate (less stiff but no buttercups). Concern is hand/arm fatigue.

    • @Kengouru

    • @freddievanheerden9739
      @freddievanheerden9739 Рік тому

      @@Kengouru @corismsyn - the general rule of thumb is less stiffness equals more comfort. Although, there are other things to consider when thinking hand and arm fatigue. i.e. What mm riser bar are you using, material, etc. Generally, you can offset some of the stiffness of a Zeb by running an more compliant 31.8mm handlebar.

    • @Kengouru
      @Kengouru Рік тому +1

      @@freddievanheerden9739 Yes, that's all clear to me and yet I'm suspecting that many people mix up cockpit stiffness with the fork's torsional stiffness, which have different impacts on the ride feeling and our perception of handling. That's why I was skeptical about some comments saying that you get "tired sooner" with 38 mm stanchion forks. Now that I 've tested them over a long period of time, I reckon that many people don't take in consideration other factors such as bar-clamp diameter, handlebar material, etc... just as you say. Overall, I didn't get tired sooner at all with 38 mm forks, and I'd even dare to say that it was actually quite opposite!

      @dukeofmtb 2 роки тому

      @@joshwithell9809 Sounds like a bushing issue. Next time you send it in for a service, ask them if they do bushing burnishing or at least mention that it feels harsh. Lyriks typically work really well for lighter riders. My wife is 115lbs without gear and runs her 170mm 2021 Lyrik C3 Ultimate at 50psi without tokens. She only comes close to bottom outs on really big drops or flat landings. She also has a 150mm Lyrik on her hardtail at 60psi and 2 tokens, which sounds stiff for her weight but you gotta make up for the lack of rear suspension when all the force from a drop is gonna end up compressing the fork, and it's still super plush. I always get more arm pump on chatter with a Fox fork than a Rockshox. Anyway, I hope it gets sorted out with your next service so you can get the most out of your Lyrik. Best of luck.
