this german 4-cylinder noise that I hear from this MB and M3 is so addictive. I can imagine how much adrenalin and pleasure gives this to a driver when is pedal to the metal. They want to be driven as hard as possible but they also seem tameable...if this is even a word. Thank you Germany

Great sound...I don't know why but...🤔...this great sound reminds me of the equally great sound of Boeing 757 jet powered by Rolls Royce RB-211 engines revved up to takeoff power setting (that distinctive "buzzsaw" rattling around is similar to this 190E 2.5-16)

This project was known as project WAA by Cosworth.[13] During this time, the Audi Quattro with its all-wheel drive system and a turbocharged was launched, making the 2.3-16V appear outclassed. With a continued desire to compete in motorsports with the 190, and also now an engine to do it with, Mercedes turned to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) (German Touring Car Championship) motor sport series instead
@@MrValiante84 Ok, I was talking about the 90's groupe A. There was a lot of M3, on tarmac french rally. AWD groupe A needed road car. Subaru, Lancia, Mistubishi, Ford did it? but I didn't kwon that story about Mercedes.
I know greatest battle of cars of all time, maybe except group b rallly though... But I actually saw this car made into a rally car. It was on my favourite show, Top Gear, when James May learns how to drift.
They all are ;) they’re no WRC winners but even my old 2.5 diesel made a great rally car

This is the same with the le mans prototypes. In the 80s and 90s they looked like racecars and for sure sounded like them but now they spaceships and sound less intimidating and also same with f1.

Alfa 155 GTA and it was "only" the Sierra RS or Sierra RS Cosworth.. the RS500 was like the merc evo 2, a homologation limited edition. But yes it was glorious days.. I recommend saloon car racing videos from same era, and the decades before that

Yes , they wont to win races to improve and pass BMW M3 M30 and i drive a lot Thais car, the RS500 by Ford i drive ir a few Times and the power and careless to drive ir os fantastic, and Mercedes Benz 2.5 Evo 2 i never drive ir but o das bougth a E300 more 20 teste ago and well ir but i love that dar and after i bougth a C200 cabrio compressor and its a shame of car, 218 km/h and lots of problems and the Mercedes Benz Portugal in Faro cant do nothing about that and for me Mercedes os Trash. I bougth 2 clk 200 cabrio, more One Vito and a sprinter but se have a truck mercedes and more One old.van Mercedes.

This os my experience with Mercedes Benz service in Faro Portugal and i dont bougth again Mercedes.

80s DTM was the shit . Today faster , but yet kinda boring to watch.
I also agree, most nowadays look like spaceships and with so much grip that they are getting near and near arcade games with crazy lightening fast handling.
I kinda agree... but what you’re seeing, is lower tech cars with average drivers ; what I watched in the past were low tech cars with excellent drivers ; modern DTM are very fast cars with very rich drivers... so they are kind of different
The cars were slower so the drivers needed to be more on the limit

I actually don't like much Le mans, but I totally love the Toyota GT One, nowadays I saw one of the faster spaceship cars on a youtube video on the Nurburgring and jeez, they even look like a arcade game the way they turn like crazy hovering strange spaceships, not my cup of tea...

I'm bummed we didn't get the 2.5 16v motor in the states.
John Smith I had a 2.3-16 and it was a fun car with great build quality. Wish I had kept it. But to be honest, compared to even a new boring Camry or Sonata it was slow. It’s amazing what 30 years of technology in the cars can do! I think the 2.5-16 Evo II could legally be imported to the States now because of its age, but I’d hate to even guess what one would cost. You can still find a 2.3-16 every once in a while that is relatively affordable, unlike the BMW E30 M3. Man those things have skyrocketed in value.
@@steveclark5206 Yeah..I see a few listed on craiglist every once in a while that are really cheap because they don't know what they have. They list them as a regular 190e if you're ever looking again.
I think I'd prefer buying a 190D and swapping in a motor that I could find parts for. The aftermarket is just not what the E30 is sadly. Sadly the prices are starting to rise on the regular 190's now too.

Those are OZ Magnesium racing wheels for the DTM EVO. DTM car had central locking nut instead of 5 x 112
But if you want to have ones like those just search the brand Compomotive. They built ones like this for street cars

There is autosport.be, but they have a worldwide calendar including Belgium. I always check the websites of the racetracks. So my advice would be to go to the Zolder and Spa-Francorchamps websites and search for the daily calendars.

I bought the evo in Forza 7 and the first design option to come up was this, Debating buying a 1.8 Litre 8V 190 E and building it from the ground up. Already found a website for bodykit,wing etc

I'm not 100% sure, but they look alot like "OZ Racing Ruote". They don't make those anymore I believe, but they make the "OZ rally racing" which looks similar.

1988. Loved my pre-cat 2,3 16v. Shame I sold it. It's worth a lot more now. But if I had it I wouldn't sell it anyways now.
