The saddest part of the Ariana Grande bombing for me was watching this interview with a homeless guy sitting outside, when he saw teen girls rushing out with nails stuck to their face. The poor guy was doing everything he could to help them and you could tell he was genuinely traumatized.

I think maybe the band managers should check the venues they book their bands to, make sure all the safety regulations have been met, there is proper insulation(not cheap crap), easy to access emergency exits and if in doubt, dont use pyrotechnics indoors. It might save a lot of future horrible events happening.

For emergencies like that, it's best to keep crowds in designated areas away from where EMTs are treating injuries so he knew what he was doing and I give him props. Try to imagine a flood of people rushing BACK out after the EMTs had just helped only half those that were injured.

Last year I took a road trip from NY to RI to see the memorial of the Great White Station Nightclub Fire for the 20th anniversary. Now on the spot of the disaster is a park with numerous monuments and makers for the tragedy. I recorded a bunch of footage with my GoPro, and during my visit I was greeted by a guy who told me he was an EMT on the night of the fire - and that he was initially confused as to why the hospital had so many patients pouring in at the time. I was a high school senior in PA in 2003 so I was nowhere near the tragedy, but I've always been morbidly fascinated by the events that night. I've visited the site twice in recent years.

16:05. I live in Argentina and just wanted to add that the most tragic part of the Cromañón fire was that they were running a makeshift daycare from the women's bathroom, and most of the babies/young kids that were there died. Yes, people brought their babies to a rock concert in a shitty, rundown club. And while the members of Callejeros were charged, their sentences were light (even though they were the ones who were promoting the "flare party")

Whenever people talk about how lining up during school fire drills is stupid, I always tell them the story of the Station Night Club.

    • @sweetmissypetuniawilson9206
      @sweetmissypetuniawilson9206 4 місяці тому

      I would imagine
      Every
      Single
One of those people had been in at least one fire drill, if not multiple.
This wasn't their fault, as I recall from multiple reports, they basically had one exit, if they weren't familiar with the place, who knows how visible (in an intentionally dark venue, now filled with thick black smoke) those other exits were.
And I'm pretty sure no matter how much your lil exit sign glows green, it's not going to be seen thru *that* smoke.
And the back door that was for the band, was not accessible to the audience as the security kept them from using it.
Not to mention, a lot of people get a lil hammered at concerts, sounds like a lot of people didn't understand what was happening.
Didn't sound like anyone in the band announced, "Fire!
      Run for your lives!"
Could you imagine being on shr○○mies or LsD and just think you're tripping?!
Some people almost made it but were then trampled.
I know all the 100+ times I went to concerts, I was there to have a blast, I wasn't looking for escape routes.
It was a tragic series of events.
That's where all new rules and g○vt c○ntr○l comes from.

You are not justified, you are a coward and whatever you believe, there's only one place you are heading when you die. I'm impressed that you included the 1979 Who concert. That was quite some time ago, after all, and compared to some of the other stories, wasn't particularly "sensational." But I remember it so well. All of us -- especially us young people who went to concerts -- were in shock. Our parents wanted to blame rock music in general and the Who specifically. That was so unfair because all forms of music concerts used unassigned seating. That concert directly led to the end of stadium (unassigned) seating at indoor concerts. I agree with the manager's decision not to cancel the concert. I know that seems ghoulish. But no one was going to be let out of that building until emergency medical crews were gone. If they were going to be stuck there, why not give them the concert they came to see? The audience and band didn't know what happened. There would be time enough for them to be shocked and mourn and be traumatized after the concert, after all.

All that footage you see is from one guy who was sent by a state safety board to help with an investigation into the nightclub's safety requirements. People in places of authority knew something was probably gonna go down, that's how bad the reputation of the Station and its owners were.

Thanks for actually talking about the Colectiv incident. I was like 9 years old when it happened and the thing nobody shows or maybe they did but it may have been too outrageous to put in a video is: yes people have revolted and shit but other than those people who really wanted change, everyone else was cold and idiotic. Like i walked down the street once and a group was talking things like "metal is for satanists, they were Lucifer's kin, they deserved it" and shit like that. It's so weird when not just like the people who enjoyed Goodbye to Gravity, but the whole metal community is pointed at and called satanists and other harsh words.

Cincinnati resident here. The Who story still blows my mind. I've gone to plenty of concerts at that downtown arena, which is now named The Heritage Bank Center. Audiences there are usually pretty tame, in fact the hockey games there usually have people much more rowdy by comparison. The concession area where people enter the building is REALLY tight though, I can see how something could go wrong if a crowd was raging to get in the front door.

I was working about half a mile up the strip from the Route 91 festival that night. My store evacuated the customers and closed early. We cleaned up while waiting for clearance to leave. Once we were allowed to leave. It was eerie, not many people walking around. Police cruisers and people in FBI vests with rifles all over the place.

There was one guy at the Station Nightclub fire who got trapped under a pile of people who protected him from the fire for more than an hour. Everyone around him died but he managed to get up and walk away with only minor burns on his legs after firefighters found him. Weirdly enough, he claims to have had several other near death experiences in the past and his father died by being crushed to death. Really crazy odds there. His name is Mike Vargas, just thought that was a pretty interesting story

i was a n amateur country music journalist (yeah, i know) as a hobby/side-hustle between 2015 and 2022. it was a fun. i got to hang out with a lot of people like Colter Wall, Margo Price, Whitey Morgan, and a TON of red dirt legends like Turnpike Troubadours, Jason Boland, Parker McCollum etc. Got in free to a lot of shows, received autographed albums and even a guitar. i mostly worked in underground country and gave exposure to a lot of artists who are now pretty damn popular. I remember when that Vegas thing happened. what a sad and unfortunate tragedy. even crazier, i had plans to go to that show but i couldn't get off work for it, fortunately. a lot of the bands performing were more on the pop/"bro"-country thing but it was nice to see the outpouring of support from the underground honky-tonk people who, despite despising the music of many top 40 artists like Jason Aldean, stepped up to talk about how fucked up that situation was.

Yes, The kiss club tragedy is still in trial here in brazil, but there is something pretty INSANE that happened in court, the defense attourney's used "spirit letters" that were allegedly from the club victims, in those letters the victims said that the owner of the club and the band shoundnt be punished by law.
The video from the trial is pure cringe, and the worst part is, the jury WAS BUYING IT!
They were absolved, but an year after it was overturned because of inconsistencies regarding evidences.

      Right?!
I'm wondering when Wyatt saw him cuz I saw Motley way back in 84? Ozzy Bark at the Moon tour.
It was their last show together.
Ozzy had white powder raining down on the Crue throughout their entire set!
As you can imagine, by the end they were covered, cuz sweat ya know!
So Nikki and Tommy put on the Munk robes during Ozzys set and were n@k€d & flashed..
Food fight off stage at the end of the night.
And snow greeted us after the show.
Had NO idea that was happening!
