I am one of the few people that actually likes Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight. While, from an acting perspective, The Dark Knight deserves much respect, because of Heath Ledger's performance, from a storytelling perspective, Batman Begins did something that no Batman film has done. What it did so uniquely is tell the origin story of how Bruce Wayne transformed himself into Batman in a manner that was believable, relatable, and infused with enough character development and drama to make it worthy of serious respect.
You're not alone. I think Batman Begins is a superior film. It did the best out of all 3 movies of successfully walking that line between realism and comic book. The Dark Knight tried too hard to be a crime movie like Heat. And The Dark Knight Rises while a solid conclusion to the trilogy was still a bit of a narrative mess. Also maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but I thought Bale's performance in The Dark Knight was not very good. He was sleepwalking through that flick. He was far more engaged in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises. His Batman voice was also far more tolerable in Begins before he started using that raspy delivery. And Begins also had the best suit.
***** And as we all know, everyone thinks The Crow is the greatest superhero movie of all time b/c Brandon Lee actually died on set while making it. **smh**
2:05 but that's exactly the point of batman. He isn't a hero. He's a vigilante. He doesn't follow the law, he does things his way to serve justice in any way possible and by any means necessary.
That doesn't explain anything. Why is this mediocre film so big now. Why is it held in such regard? Basically, why do internet dummies latch onto the silliest stuff (Re- cash me outside)
Unpopular opinion; Batman Begins remains my favorite comic book film of all time. It focused on the hero, great origin story, well-thought story about the theme of fear, we understand the character Bruce, on how he will not kill, on how he still feel guilty, and starting an agenda. Seriously, the movie means so much to me, childhood memories, 1 of my first introduction to Batman (live action, other than the animated series one), my personal favorite Batsuit, and also first live action version of my favorite villain of all time; Scarecrow.Overall the movie means SO..so..SOOOOO much to me and I can't think of any negative thing to say about it. The Dark Knight was an amazing film but Begins means so much more to me personally
When it showed the bat credit card in this HT, I was hoping that it'd cut to the Nostalgia Critic losing his shit. That would of been the biggest lol moment of the video for me!
"SWEAR TO ME" is fucking iconic at this point lol. I love Batman Begins. Bale freaking kills it. Not trying to start a war here, but I don't get why people think Keaton was better than Bale. Bale was perfect as Bruce and really nailed a more realistic Batman that Nolan was going for. I think it's clear that Kevin Conroy IS Batman, with everyone else being a different incarnation of the character. Same goes with Mark Hamill
Indeed, the whole trilogy was more of a Bruce Wayne story than a Batman story, taking more of a realistic approach. It was also good to see Bruce have a happy ending in the end after everything he went through throughout the trilogy. Something that we may never see in the comics (or any other superhero movie).
"I don't get why people think Keaton was better than Bale" because nostalgia. Same with the "Jack Nicholson is way better than Ledger". Pretty sure that if those same people were to watch the 1989 Batman movie today, for the first time, as an adult, they wouldn't say that. Or that if it was to be released today there wouldn't be as many people praising Batman and Joker portayals.
Alex Love i think it's because the way Bale acts as Bruce makes it kind of obvious that he would be Batman but Keaton keeps all of his secrets and pain inside so you wouldn't suspect him at all

The problem is that no matter how good the action is, it's just visual noise if you don't care about the characters. I actually cared whether or not Bale's Batman lived or died, which I didn't with Affleck's Batman.

Well, he kills 1 with that M60, a few more with the tank even though he is using rubber bullets, he most likely kills the mutant gang leader and he even opened fire on the joker.
+Sarah Berne - I know, right? I can see it now; "Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr Strange is a perfect Storm of Sherlock, Tony Stark- and total douche"- 'cause, I'll be honest; the guy was pretty dicky. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad movie - it was a bit of a mind trip- it didn't seem anything like any superhero movie I'd ever seen - I really hope Dr Strange is the next Honest Trailer- please, please, please!
Hayley Skinner Not true to the comic at all because you need to specify which comics. This trilogy was amazing but it wasn't without its flaws. Like Bane that wasn't Bane although Hardy killed that role and it was hard not to love it.
I never understood why vaporizing Gotham's water supply didn't vaporize the water inside peoples' bodies, thus exploding everybody in range of the device.
Because the weapon they stole to do so was created to be targeted, so they could wipe out an enemies water supply, thereby forcing a surrender or retreat without the need for bloodshed.
YMasterS That's the intent, the logic is the one in question. It's like if a Kryptonite somehow exploded in front of a human's face but he's completely fine, and then you come along saying that it's designed to hurt Superman. Yes, but humans are still vulnerable to explosions. Same w/ people being mostly made of water.
Especially since in the movie they claim hitting the distribution point would cause a chain reaction. How is that controllable to only the water mains?
Funny, but I LIKE Ben Affleck as Batman. Seriously! Ya, the Martha is funny and stupid, but watch the other parts of the EXTENDED film. It is actually GOOD!
Ras put himself on that train, he was just intimidating Bane, and he was done with the whole super hero thing by the time he got to Talia. It was either shoot the bitch, or let Gotham be nuked. It was out of necessity (like Two-Face) and (like Two-Face) he hung up the cowl afterwards. Permanently.
Nah, Joker is overrated in TDK. The Joker wasn't even intended to be the central point of TDK, but rather Harvey Dent. Joker was originally planned to be the main and sole antagonist in TDKR until the untimely death of Ledger. People keep saying " _OMG Joker damaged Batman so much mentally and physically in TDK._ " When in fact it was Dent who physically harmed Batman by shooting him and mentally by showing him his fear that even the best of men can succumb to their own demons, alongside feeling responsible for what happened to the Man he considered a friend and a close ally in his struggle against crime. All Joker did was keep vying for the attention of Batman until he got it. There's a reason the final scene involves Dent, Batman & Gordon instead of Batman & Joker.
Okay, I'm slow here, but I just got that you did a sing song voice for, "If I Only Played Bruce Wayne" in the same tone as "If I Only Had a Brain; the Scarecrow song from the Wizard of Oz." Ha, clever. 😏
I still remember going to see Batman Begins when I was 11. I was completely blown away! It had cool action, a dark and mature story, and I didn’t know who Christian Bale was yet but man did he knock it out of the park! The only other superhero film to top it was its sequel
Kei Kurono Christopher Nolan made Edgeman begins. -I honestly prefer Batman as it's Noire self back in the 1930s where Batman followed more Criminal like rogue gallery.
Nope. He is the best detective in the world, but he knows nothing! Even if he has good fighting scenes, batman main characteristic is being a detective. In BvS he is a walking potato!
i dont think that ben afflecks batman in stupid at all, infact i understand why people didnt like the martha moment but i didnt mind it and ben affleck is my favourite on screen batman
This is by far the best Batman movie. Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul is my shiiiiit bruh. Screenjunkies, please do an extended scene, with extra examples of the league of shadows past actions.
The best thing about Batman Begins is how well fleshed out Bruce Wayne's character is, which made us genuinely care for him, the movie gives a very strong and compelling reason for everything he does. His motives are damn good. We care for him as a character, not just because he's Batman.
Ahmad AMA Thier still pretty impressive but you have grown used to Thier way of making fun of movies. Plus this film is very hard to make fun of as there are not many cliché moments so they have to nitpick
Freaking awesome!!! I remember this almost winning the "Honest Trailers" battle to promote "Batman V. Superman:Dawn of Justice". It was about time you got to this one. I though Ben Affleck was a good Batman, but I perfer Christian Bale's Batman more. I do critique this movie's action scenes, they were all chopply editited and shot in "EXTREME CLOSE-UP". But aside from that, this was a great return to form for Batman. Awesome Trailer.
LMAO!!! "If I only played Bruce Wayne" sung. Ok, whoever gets that one knows how creative you guys are at writing. Can't. stop. laughing. Well done SJ. Well done.
If i remember correctly, this was part of the competition for the viewers to decide which honest trailer they would do based on which older superhero honest trailer got more views (superman vs Batman). Superman got more views so they did the superman (I believe returns ) honest trailer. Guess this one got left behind until everyone forgot? :D
This is the Honest Trailer the Internet deserves, but not the one it needs.

There's a reason the final scene involves Dent, Batman & Gordon instead of Batman & Joker.
I didn't say his performance was overrated, I said the character's presence and actions were.
Learn to read.
Yeah but wasn't it the joker who brought out the demons in Dent and sent him on a mission?
trabo2 So does that mean Talia Al Ghul is on par with Joker for manipulating Bane? Ofc not.
This was one of my favorite "Starring" bits from you.
"Gotham Abbey"
"🎵 If I Only Played Bruce Wayne🎵"
🤣🤣🤣
RIP Adam West
Abdul Basit Adam We*
😥
R.i.p Heath ledger
My favourite.
Adam west is a disgrace to the character of batman.
Okay, I'm slow here, but I just got that you did a sing song voice for, "If I Only Played Bruce Wayne" in the same tone as "If I Only Had a Brain; the Scarecrow song from the Wizard of Oz."
Ha, clever. 😏
That and Cillian Murphy auditioned to be Bruce Wayne
Say I have crippling depression
I still remember going to see Batman Begins when I was 11. I was completely blown away! It had cool action, a dark and mature story, and I didn’t know who Christian Bale was yet but man did he knock it out of the park! The only other superhero film to top it was its sequel
I still want GI Joe the Rise of Cobra honest trailer
araignée du soir, cauchemar fuck yes
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm will always be the best Batman movie to me.
The Dark Knight Returns for me.
Trotmaster15 Batman and Robin for me
EndCreditReviews Totally agree. Mask of the Phantasm was legendary!!
under the red hood
We get it, you really like cartoons.
Batfleck is great!
Kei Kurono
Christopher Nolan made Edgeman begins.
-I honestly prefer Batman as it's Noire self back in the 1930s where Batman followed more Criminal like rogue gallery.
Kei Kurono more like... *ass*fleck
Uh no he wasn't but I respect you opinion
Nope. He is the best detective in the world, but he knows nothing! Even if he has good fighting scenes, batman main characteristic is being a detective. In BvS he is a walking potato!
Your'e a walking potato!
This trilogy is actually among my fav movies. Christian Bale will always be my Batman
i dont think that ben afflecks batman in stupid at all, infact i understand why people didnt like the martha moment but i didnt mind it and ben affleck is my favourite on screen batman
Say " This is gonna be Legend -wait for it- dary"!
Doctor Strange next?
Doctor Bagel I hope so.
Doctor Bagel it has been done
This is by far the best Batman movie. Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul is my shiiiiit bruh.
Screenjunkies, please do an extended scene, with extra examples of the league of shadows past actions.
The best thing about Batman Begins is how well fleshed out Bruce Wayne's character is, which made us genuinely care for him, the movie gives a very strong and compelling reason for everything he does. His motives are damn good.
We care for him as a character, not just because he's Batman.
People saying that Snyder/Affleck Batman is a joke clearly haven't read any comic books.
Exile Studios he only used a gun twice in this movie, both times were straight from the comics.
Exile Studios and yet every other live action Batman also kills, but no one seems to care about them.
XekTOr ^^^
Md. Abdul Ahad Chowdhury you don't need to read them. It's a story existing on it's own in the movies and should make sense to the audience.
Md. Abdul Ahad Chowdhury It heralds back to the Golden age of Comics. Back when Batman killed people....
I miss the good old days when Honest Trailers was funny.
Honest Trailers is going through the same change as the Batman movies. Going from comic book hijinks to lifelike realism.
Yeah, there's only so many times a channel can make fun of the Martha scene before it starts getting repetitive as shit.
Then why are you here now?
Need a tissue or a whole box of tissues?
Ahmad AMA Thier still pretty impressive but you have grown used to Thier way of making fun of movies.
Plus this film is very hard to make fun of as there are not many cliché moments so they have to nitpick
'Still counts as a murder even if a train does it.' 😂
you guys continue to make my day with Honest Trailers
3:16 You ever had sweetened condensed milk? That shit's amazing
THE DARK KNIGHT NOW. NO BREAKS. DO IT IMMEDIATELY
Donald_Trumpet 69 They already did that
They need to do it again bc the original version was weak.
Donald_Trumpet 69 they already did that
Batman Begins was one of only three films I went back for multiple viewings.
What where the other 3 films?
“Lucius Fox, who could be helping Bruce be a better *American Psycho* for all he knows.”
Thug: where are you?
Batman: here.
Thug: gets scared
Please say, "it took me twelve years to get this good, and I'm only ten!"
This is probably the funniest Honest Trailer I've watched so far. I lost it at the Ned Flanders mustache and it kept getting funnier.
Dumbest part
Guys I've been watching Honest Trailers for 2 hours and I have a feeling it's only going to continue.
Don't save me. I'm too far gone.
You still alive buddy?
@@gulzarahmed2321 Nah... he happy ded.
I know the feeling
Still going to ask for Pulp Fiction every time until they do it.
Awesomeaaron2000 i know right?
Awesomeaaron2000 I'm with you all the way
I would be happy with any Tarantino movie
Well done.
I've been waiting for this one for a long time now.
And the king joffrey part still gets me till today !!🤣🤣🤣
Not gonna lie, this is probably my favorite Batman movie of all time... and that's only because I haven't seen LEGO Batman yet.
Mask Of the Phantasm is mine.
We Remotely Low good call
"At the hands of The Liam of Neesons" 🤣🤣😂😂😂
"🎵If I only played Bruce Wayne🎵" 😂😂
Such a great movie and I miss having a good Batman movie set in a universe that didn't suck.
I swore they did this honest trailer before.
I think they did TDK and TDKR already. Not sure why it's out of sequence, but watevs.
Brian G. wwe
in reference to Joffrey "why are you giving him military hardware? Take him out before it's too late!" lmao
