Never released footage from the European leg of the 2017 @wsl tour. Shot during the World Title race with Gabriel Medina, John John and friends find endless beach days in France and Portugal. Before the trip, our friends @reddigitalcinema loaned us an EPIC X Monochrome that we shot with an infrared OLPT.

That fu**ing slammed from beginning to end. Brilliant edit -- food for the soul during a time of BS where someone can win a world title in day. John is in a class of his own. The first and last airs both were things of beauty - because they were a part of the surfing and fit in naturally, rather than like a gymnastics event. And as always, beautiful work by Erik

I think John John's " no claim, claim" is to make Erik and Ross laugh during editing sessions. Killer work guys and I 2nd the idea of old O'Neil footage if possible.
Wow, such a beautiful film showcasing a surfer who has no equal in raw talent. Awesome cinematography, love the shots especially of Portugal (my home). Shows JJF at the height of his powers. Breathtaking! Hope he has a chance to show this type of surfing again on the competitive stage.

This is BEAUTIFUL. ... FRANCE was one of my best times on the QS. Ward , Yoemans and I would travel together for that leg. Best beachies ever with classic memories .. Thank you for the Nostalgia. Love your surfing and Kolohe too. Mental edit Mental surfing !!!

This is f&*ken great. Watched it wearing headphones - hats off to the whole team, the sound is incredible, along with everything else. And wow, the section featuring John's epic performance at Hossegor - another all time performance in competition, loved the view from the beach. Blazing form!

These close up shots of the CT event put into perspective how heavy some of these sections are. It's was more fun to watch than typical WSL coverage, keep doing it!!! Also, it would be sick to see some film like this with Medina and Italo boostin in it as well.

Gorgeous work. At the very least you should submit something like this to a couple film festivals. But maybe you're wasting your time at a film fest and it's better just to share it the way you're doing.
I've heard about this guy off and on for years. But I've never really seen him surf or subscribed to his channel. Of course I've done both of those now. And I have to admit I always wondered why he wasn't simply John Florence, but goes by the name John John Florence. And now after watching him surf, maybe people use two first names for him because someone with that level of skill is beyond just one first name. I hope that's not insulting, but it's one of those weird thoughts that runs through my head from time to time when I'm faced with something different.
