There was a piece of software that would sync clips with similar audio called pluraleyes a few years ago. It was used to sync multi camera video shoots that shared audio tracks but it would in a scenario like this.
I was reading about this one last night. I attempted to use the sync audio in Final Cut and it smashed all 3 vids into one and didn’t allow me to cut between the different cameras. Challenging!
Regarding syncing the audio and video, I have used Final Cut Pro and it can take audio from camera and an audio file you provide it and automagically sync them. So if you did like a quick hit before starting the actual performance, you could use that as a reference that can be used to sync. I have only done this with a single take that was not modified in something like Ableton though, so I'm not sure how it would work in this context.
I am going to be so frustrated while simultaneously relieved and joyed if I can use this feature. I'll have to do a test this week. Such a tedious task if you are having to do it over and over again. Thanks I'll search this one out!
I think as long as each camera has an audio track capturing monitor output from the Nord, and with the relatively light processing in Live, I’d bet on it working. I expect the sync algo mostly uses sound peaks/intensity to line things up.
I’m going to do some tests today. I’ve noticed a weird thing with my old Canon t2i that the waveforms are off from the video itself. Maybe it needs a firmware update if such exists. Tedium!!!
So I tried the synchronize audio button in finalcut and it smashed my three vids and audio into one. They were synced! But I couldn’t switch between the main video. Maybe some further exploring needs to be done on my end.

I associate IDM with glitchy, distorted sounds and syncopated/polyrhythmic/polymetric beats, so I think it fits.
