Loved the video Jannis! Made my commute to work today so much better!
I have the 3P connected via midi to my SPD-SX and one of the coolest things you can do is use the pads (and external pads) to expand the kits.
For example, instead of using 3 pads on the 3P for tonal toms in a kit, you can use 1 pad and then some pads on the SPD-SX that are tuned higher or lower.
And for some sounds if you tune them way up/down, you can get almost completely new sounds.
I've also got a Digitakt sending midi to them (Digitakt --> SPD-SX --> 3P) so you can also modulate them too. Tons of fun.

Thank you so much for the nice words 😊 and your set-up sounds awesome! The fact that you can individualize the midi output of the pads on the SPD-SX is a big advantage, and a combination of both sounds like a best of both worlds 🔥

The sequence sounds so good. A lot of great info coming in quick! I need a Syntakt now! 😂

Thanks 💚 I think the sequence itself you can manage to create with Ableton as well, it's just way more fun to do all the live modulation and tweaking with a machine like Syntakt 👀

Anyone know how to do all this with Reaper???

I would love to get you a Digitakt to see what you could do with that and the 3p. I have both and although i have had some fun, I could do with help

Thanks! Actually the sequencer is quite similar as far as I understood. But maybe I’ll borrow a Digitakt one day from a friend and make a video about it, too 👀

@@JannisLeWolff One problem I get is that when I have been using the Digitakt to mess about with the controllers to change the 3p, stopping and starting the Digitakt changes all the current controller settings, making it impossible to work on 3p sound design. Do you know how to stop this?

@@JannisLeWolff I think the issue is that if you save a sequence with all the controllers switched on, it reverts to this saved state of controller values, so it reapplies them when you run the Digitakt / Syntakt sequence... it drives me nuts.

Watching this I am slightly confused regarding the setup
Syntakt sending controllers / notes to Ableton Midi IN on multiple channels (lets say midi 1-6), then Ableton Midi Out > Nord IN ??

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  6 місяців тому +1

I’m using 2 set-ups here. Both times, the Nord Drum receives Midi from individual channels. Either tracks 1-6 from Syntakt, sending on individual midi channels (1-6) or midi tracks inside Ableton, also sending on channels 1-6. So the Syntakt doesn’t send anything to Ableton here. Hope it helps!

How can we use each individual channel on the Nord 3P to send input to Ableton? That is to say what I would like to do is, separately, from each pad send midi data to its own individual midi channel on Abelton. This way the data is stored separately for each pad

Hey! Unfortunately, the Nord Drum can only send midi globally, so you need to pick one channel. However, you can use Ableton to change the input note. I have a video about creating Hybrid Set-Ups with the Nord Drum and Ableton, it might help you further!

@@JannisLeWolff I know each channel has a midi note I believe starting with 60, but how can you adjust it in Ableton? Thanks
