As a RV hauler for Synergy we love where we are. We don't believe in leasing or renting their trailer. We purchased our trailer directly from. Synergy. They asked us to stay for a year if we purchased it from them. Been there 3 yrs and don't feel like going anywhere else at this time. As far as amenities are concerned, we feel it not as important like yourself. You are the company and any amenities they provide comes at a cost. Are you, as the company, willing to pay for it? Not me. We can get a free shower from the truck stops where we fuel. Motels are extremely expensive. We will sleep in our truck. Even if we idle, it's still cheaper than the motel. Great job.
As someone who currently works for a large trucking company and has been there for a long time, I’ve thought about getting into the RV game. I already know that my 3/4 ton won’t cut the mustard as it’s a lifted 07. Thanks for making this video. And I live by LaPorte
@bigj200016 Thanks for the comment! 3/4 ton trucks are great if you're non-CDL. But if you have a CDL A dually is the way to go. It can even give you the chance to move up from single pull into multi haul with a gooseneck style Shipshe trailer. And it's always good to live close by, especially when things are slow. You can hang out at home but still be near by when it picks up!
Absolutely! I have a big change coming and *fingers crossed* a brand new trailer to replace the single axle I'm pulling now, so I'm planning a video once I have the new trailer. But if there's anything specific you want to know right now ask away!
Very much everything I considered. Only thing I would add is, how do they pay. Direct deposit, EFS, Comdata etc. I chose Indiana Transport because they use Comdata. It cost me 1$ to transfer my funds from Comdata to my bank. I find this very reasonable compared to EFS at 3.5% per transfer. With all of the expenses out here, giving up 3.5%, which could be as much as 5k a year just to get paid.... nope, if a company uses EFS I will not pull for them. With all the ways you can pay a driver these days, I do not think the company is looking out for their drivers if they are using this option.
Right now, EFS charges me $1.75 to transfer to my bank and $1.00 for fuel transactions. It used to be a $1.00 for both but guess they weren't getting enough lol. I'll be back on Comdata soon though with the ways things are shaping up

@@RamTruckTrucking it might be. After all my years in and out of the industry at 5 different carriers, they all certainly have little differences. Even with EFS, I've noticed my carrier has different fuel prices than my old (smaller) carrier Classic Transport.
@Josh_K01 that's what this is, just in a specialized freight industry. And what makes rv transport different from general freight is why most of us will never go back. There's no waiting hours to get a dock to load/unload. There's no lumper fees, we unload ourselves. Having your own trailer means no showing up to find your trailer was trashed by the last guy or has a flat tire not reported. And best of all, we set our own pick up and delivery times. Have yet to meet another industry driver who can do that.
There's a lot of factors. Was this other guy single pull or multi? Even the biggest and busiest of carriers can slow down. It's a constant balancing act to not lease on too many drivers, but still having enough to move freight and keep contracts. And there are definitely slow periods as well. I experienced this at Foremost Transport in September. I was one of the too many drivers leased on as we went into a month with manufacturers' shows and little freight. It was the first time in all my years that I had to delease and find a different carrier. It all worked out for the best in the end, but it's a real risk in the industry.
@ it was a channel that the guy was so many transport in that he could use the load boards himself. He was at wave originally. I’m not sure if he left.
@@iam4ouru10 Definitely is for some people. But there's things they do that some drivers are not fans of, like the lack of air ride trailers for lease/LP.

Why not get your own authority, run power only for carriers? You don’t need your own trailer and it’s super easy to change if it’s not working out.

I just viewed another rv transport yt channel and he said the boards are empty. What’s your experience with the amount of rv’s available to transport.

Are p/u trucks using the ELD?
Only if they're doing multi haul or hauling boats and other things. Single pull towable RVs are ELD exempt
