thank you so much for your helpful videos. I am a nurse and didn't get to learn all of the respiratory topics in depth in school. so these are a lifesaver!
I've gone through six years of medical school not ACTUALLY knowing how these work properly - so simple, but never really explained clearly! This was great, thank you.
i know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Colten Kobe instablaster :)
Same this was great explanation!
We are manufacturer of non-rebreathing oxygen mask, I am dare to say you are right and professional !!!! Best wishes !!!!
I am a EMT Student this has helped me understand a lot better thank you for helping me understand better.
I am manufacture of oxygen mask and Non-rebreather oxygen mask with reservior bag, I am dare to say that you are very professional and kind !!!! Best Wishes for you !!!!
You're the best. I am an EMT and find RT's to be super helpful every time we need them. Thank you for a thorough explanation
Thank you! I really appreciate the compliment! RTs and EMTs are similar in so many ways.
I am in Medical school right now. That was very helpful thank you So much...
Omg!!! You are one of the best instructors ever you provide rationales and address the gray areas plz do more videos
As a nurse, you were 100% on point!
Ran across your page because Im in grad school for RT and all I got to say is PLEASE KEEP MAKING VIDEOS. I understand because of your demonstrations
Just ran a call for a Covid pt in res distress with the FD. Hadn’t seen one of the NRB in awhile and they had him on 10 LPM. Def helpful to get the refresh thanks.
Thank you!!! I just finished my EMT training. I always get confused which one to use, whether a BVM or a NRB. Lol. Your explanation as to how NRB works makes so much sense now for me. Lmao.
These videos are so great! Thanks to your detailed explanations, my weekly "sign-offs" (practical stuff that's graded in class) go fantastically. You are a life saver!
You are very welcome Aleksandra! We called the "check offs" in school and they were stressful!
@@rtclinic Oh my goodness; they really are! Please keep your fingers crossed on Tuesday! It's my final cumulative sign-off. :D
Ty for the video. I loved my RT rotation in nursing school. I rarely use it now working in an office so it was a quick refresher :)
Great video, concise. Topics on appropriate use often go overlooked. Thanks.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for creating these videos!
I’m in Emt school you have helped me so much. Ty
Thank you so much for your great videos. I am first year RT student.
Thank you. Some stuff are so simple but when you read about it. You go 😵😵😵😵
I’m using this for cluster headaches for the first time and it’s important that I get as much o2 as possible and this was very helpful.
I've heard it can work well for headaches.
Thank you from the middle East❤️🙂
Great video! Super clear and well explained. Thank a mil!
Thankyou. This will be very helpful for those who are administering care to their loved ones using a oxygen concentrator at home during this Coronavirus outbreak.
Excellent video doctor. Thank you very much.
Am glad I saw this. Very informational.
Awesome video! Thank you for the information!!
quick and simple! loving these bitesize vidsss
you're awesome thank you!
Thank You, very helpful!
I just got out of OR/PACU as an EMS Instructor and during my first time i got (southern slang) to use a low high flow nasal cannula at 13 LPM. i was given Lorazepam 4mg + 4 (8) mg mixed with Midazolam 2mg x 4 (8mg), Ketamine 15mg over 10 min for nerve pain very slow IV push, post-op down to 9 lpm on methadone 10mg PO for pain with 12.5mg of Diphenhydramine IV. i was having Cystoscopy & Renal Biopsy, could not get spinal do to my severe kyphoscoliosis. 2 Ansthologist tried plus 2 ARNA tried. also i hate the NR/PR mask Oxymask can use 1/4 liter to 25 lpm
Awesome Video!!! Thank you so much for explaining the difference This is one of the best videos I've seen so far on this topic. :)
Thank you!
Where were you when I need you sir while in EMT school.excellent teacher
Thanks a lot for this video, it's very easy to understand
So nicely explained
So helpful - great concise video thanks!
then we tried an experimental type of a mask United kingdom style even though this was down in southern US at 60% at 22 LPM around 60 lpm but i performed ok with the high flow non-heated high flow nasal cannula 7-15 lpm ; and my range was 10 - 13 liters. back to air entrainment mask at 60%, some of our PACU/ICU Flowmeters go up to 25 LPM before flush.
Hi sir I'm indian girl. Your video is very useful and superb sir
Fantastic you actually make this stuff simple. Thankyou.
Thanks Jamie!!
I really like your videos, very educational and practical in the clinical setting.
Thank you B NOYB !
Nicely explained. Thanks. 😊
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Thank you...wife was putting in the tube upside down
Thanks Man ,, very helpful
wow thankssssss! didnt get taught this in nursing school.so helpful
Thank u so helpful to understand different
Solid! Thank you 😊
Very helpful... Thank you sir!
Thank you very much!
Thank you!
Awesome explanation thnx
Thank you Sir for another excellent video..so much appreciated..You’re awesome..
You are welcome Donna!
thank you!!!
Very helpful, thanks
thank you SO Much
thank you so much you are very halpfull
Thank you
This has been so beneficial for writing research. Will you ever do a video on Rapid Sequence Intubation?
ßa n.
Thank you ✔
would this be ok to use at home for my mom when she gets a bad copd attack she is on a constant 2 liters of o2 now up her nose but sometimes when she gets up and moves around she gets out of breath thought about buying one of these from Amazon to help her get over the attack? thanks for any info .
Nice
Would you put a humidifier on the non rebreather since the oxygen delivery is more than 4mL
Thanks a great question Tahmina. I must have overlooked it 4 mths ago. 😄
You can add humidity in the form of a large volume nebulizer attached to a mask, but with air entrainment it will yield a lower Fio2. There are two reasons we do not use humidity on a non rebreather. 1. The moisture would cause the one way valves to stick and it will also accumulate moisture in the NRB bag.
2. The majority of NRB flow will be brought through the nose passively and heated/ humidified by the nasopharynx.
Great question
If you patient needs humidity in these cases, the best bet is a large volume nebulizer.
I hope this helps

How do they breath out in such mask? I think they will breath the same high co2 content air again
The flow is set high enough to flush the exhaled co2 put of the mask between breaths. If the flow is set below the recommended amount, some co2 may be rebreathed. It is important to know the recommended flow for every device.
Do you have a great way to connect a non rebreather with a neb treatment? Normally I just plug one end and slide the mouthpiece into the side of the mask.
I use the same method as you. I should experiment with fio2 concentrations with other configurations...🤔
What about those tiny holes on the sides ? Mine are covered with something when I put the mask out of the bag
Those holes are covered by a rubber cover to allow the patient to pull 100% oxygen from the inflated bag instead of from the air around them. The one way rubber covers increase the amount of delivered oxygen
@@rtclinic thanks a lot 👍😀
does the non rebreather have 2 valves and a partial with one valve???
A non-rebreather has three one-way valves. A partial rebreather has two one-way valves on the mask, but the opening between the mask and reservoir does not have a one-way valve. The fiO2 delivered is greater with a non-rebreather, but the clinical effects are not usually significant. A very good question Philly B !
thats a negative for 3 right I see a empty side valve on it
Question: are we supposed to remove the covers of the exhalation ports?
I do, but you do not have to. It is more of a safety measure for me. Sometimes there are two of them, just remove one. 😁
Can you switch a NRB for OXYMIZER after a while,,, on a regular floor?
Yes. We have alternated these two devices before. The FiO2 will be slightly lower on an oxidizer, but I would recommend turning it up to 15 lpm and watching their SpO2 for 5 mins.
This thing is non sterile, how do you ensure that it is clean without spores, fungi or any foreign mat b4 use it.
I've never checked the package for sterility before. We just make sure the package is unbroken before applying it.
Is it mandatory not to use bottle humidifier in oxygen when using a non rebreather mask?
It isn't mandatory and many bottles can't handle the flow rate of a non rebreather. The pop off valve will be activated on the bottle if you turn the flowmeter up to 15 LPM.
I was put on a non rebreather mask last week and they had it set at 25lpm. Was that too much? It was on the portable oxygen not a wall mounted one.
You really can't put 'too much' on a non-rebreather. The only problem with 25 lpm is how quickly you'll burn through an e-cylinder. It would probably last about 20 mins if it was started at 2200 psi. 15 lpm is best (will last 44 mins), but the key is to keep the reservoir bag inflated during the inspiratory cycle.
Thanks for the question!!!
Why were you put on one? We’re you sick ?
Cristianandtupac cluster headaches
What happens if you hook a non-rebreather bag to a helium tank?
We attach them to a heliox. 70% helium, 30% o2. It doesn't affect the function of the device.
👍
Non-rebreathers are probably the most misused piece of respiratory equipment there is. I can't tell you how many times I've seen the bag not inflated or had to pick up a patient who had been on one for way too long without any kind of definitive treatment.
It is also one of my most watched videos 😀
How long max can u give this?
As long as you need to keep oxygen saturations to an adequate level. Long periods of high Fio2 levels can cause release of free radicals and pneumocyte damage.
Why some times that bg us not inflated?
The flow is not set high enough
Can I use it for the education purpose
Yes! Please do😁. Thanks for asking.
have you posted a vidio about cpr
I did ACLS but I should do CPR. Great suggestion. It is on my list for the next video
@@rtclinic your welcome😁
@@rtclinic when will it be relesed
@@WilliamLiles-db1bj hopefully in the next month or so
@@rtclinic ok ☺
Can anyone tell it's price
About $3 each. www.amazon.com/dp/B07DTNMB4K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_HE32B3FXCE2K270BP8VX
my book say 12liters
Philly B : 12 liters for a simple mask should deliver close to 0.60 FiO2. A 12 liter NRB would also work, but clinically 15 LPM is more common. Thanks for the question!
Dude, shut that oxygen tank nozzle, its really annoying with all that noise.
very informative at not at all yawn yawn !!!!
This was a great demonstration thank you. I’m in nursing school and tomorrow I have an exam and it includes respiratory and has oxygen delivery systems on it. Watching videos is easier to understand than solely reading it from the book 🥲 thank you
I'm so glad it help. I hope your exam goes well
Hi sir I'm indian girl. Your video is very useful and superb sir
