- In today’s video we go about pulling out our 1956 Ferguson 20 TVO in the hopes to get it running but unfortunately time was not on our side. So she’s been washed and brought over to the workshop to be put going for next weeks vintage Thursday.

My own father lord have mercy on him only ever got of his diesel 20 by swinging his leg over the steering wheel and bonnet. He's gone since 1992.

Father Phil is so articulate. Smell triggers memory. For me the smell of a Hillman Superminx interior and I'm 5 years old again. Stuck my head into one or two of them at vintage shows and I'm right back in the 60s.
So true, I can remember the smell of a steam train. They were still on the go maybe pulling goods in the early 60s in ireland.

VZ is a Co Tyrone registration first issued in April1956 and it ran to April 1961, registrations from 1922 onwards that has Z as the second letter were issued in Northern Ireland apart from County Mayo which had originally been issued with IZ so it wasn't changed. Apart from that I cant tell you much more about the registration on your Ferguson.

A first tractor for many farms
Another 65 years and it will be still around. Always a good video lad.
What a blast from the past 20 diesel was my steed of choice mowed turned and drew cockes of hay with them. Piece 2a and hayman Turner. Will allows treasure them memories 👍
I could listen to father phil all day long, more and more natural on camera too.

My neighbor used to run a 1954 Volkswagen beetle on tvo around sixty years ago. He also had a 1947 tvo David Brown crop master ,but I remember the smell of the beetle going along the road better than the crop master. There was no NCT testing back in those days.

Lovely 20 lads, i have a 1953 one. If i was yee, i wouldnt respray her, she tells her story, being original condition. There is enough restored ones out their, and they've lost their character. Shes a little beaut.
Phil, I live a couple of miles away from the home of this TVO and I’m sure I know the family that owned it. I called at the house 30 years ago.
Father Phil on that old tractor looks like a scene right out a BBC show!. so cool!
I always hate seeing these old tractors just "sitting". I understand if they're broke down and such but, if you plan on keeping 'em, keep 'em clean and placed somewhere on a "display" per say. Them "Fergies" were and still are awesome tractors. Can do so much more with them than you can with the larger tractors, mainly due to their size. Looking forward to seeing that old girl running again. Cheers :)

I scuffle beet triple K and a TVO fergy 20 back in 1982 ... exhaust under the axel...i winched timber..6 ton bouton single line pull winch.. 1994..a spanner man all me life... helo from CORK ..Ireland...😉...

It's definitely up north I have kz nearly identical to that one in co antrim
remember having a tvo 20 here, the exhaust pipe was routed out the back by the side of hitch ,
if you didn't change over to petrol for a minute or 2, b4 turning off she was a right b1tch to start the following morning
another thing I remember was that the pto had to engaged for the lift to work ,
we also had the matching finger bar mower (fond memories NOT !) a special top link with a chain and notches to hold up the mower

Tractors were so tiny, you wouldn't want to be pushing one of the new tractors. lol. Father Phil's confident so look forward to seeing it running. Sound and visual quality was very good. ,

Hi Father Phil. My father had a MF135 bought new on 21 Nov 1967 and the reg plate for her was 8608 HZ. That is a Co. Tyrone registration. Hope this helps
