The exorcist gave me nightmares, but to be fair when I watched it I was staying with family that live in the middle of nowhere and I was more petrified of that
The reason why the exorcist banned was because of the flashing lights in the trailer that was showing in theaters. People have gotten seizures or acted abnormally because of it.

Its so weird how i do not like horror movies, yet I watched “The Exorcist” 1973 so easily. I had no nightmares or anything. I still dont get it. My dad says that its prob because I dont believe in demons, devils, spirits etc.
i think the reason the exorcist isn’t very scary is because we know ghosts and stuff isn’t real, it’s way scarier when a movie is about things that could happen in real life

The movie was released when my grandma was a teen, it was pretty much *the* movie that was off it’s rocker at the time. As in it was scary back then. Now it’s not that scary because it has what we consider today “cheesy” graphics. But The Exorcist pretty much put graphic horror movies on the map. It might’ve been banned in the 1970s and not this past decade.
@@rub4tosisI watched it. I am not trying to be a weird 😅 but it is really a shitty movie, especially the direction. Although the movie tried to make it like a weird fantasy involving naked teens doing weird things but of course, it was not going to be extremely explicit. @LittleCeciGirl. I actually watched it about 2 years ago during covid. Found the movie broke down into like 12 to 15 parts. Each part being 10 to 15 mins a piece. It was a random site, I don't recall the sites name. Non dark web either. It's available to find on the general web.
Film banning has always been an interesting concept to me. You can always get an interesting understanding of the culture at the time a film was banned, especially with older horror. The genre itself has always been a topic of discourse, and what is viewed as either acceptable or unacceptable in horror throughout different cultures and time periods is interesting. Especially when talking about films that were previously banned but had the ban lifted- or that aren't regulated.

I have not seen and do not intend to see A Serbian Film. I'm pretty sure it's still banned here. However, in the director's defence, he wanted to make a film that was a political allegory to illustrate the plight of the Serbian people during the disintegration of Yugoslavia. It's an anti-war movie. Many horrors went on over there during that time. He wanted to shock ppl to make them take notice of the atrocities.
What is funny is that when it said the exorcist was banned in the UK, my mum (who has lived in the UK her whole life) met my father after dressing up as the girl from the exorcist at a horror house in the UK lmaooo
Isn't Salo just an adaptation of Sade's 120 Days of Sodom? The thing with the Marquis de Sade is his writing does have merit as a political statement, as horrible as it can be at times. The reason why the exorcist banned was because of the flashing lights in the trailer that was showing in theaters. People have gotten seizures or acted abnormally because of it.
They fr got possessed by the demon
What flashing lights ?
I'll warn you curious souls bc you may think they're horror or gore movies, they're not. Let alone The Exorcist which is a horror classic and a great movie, the rest is just torture porn, keep your sanity and just don't, they're disturbing, disgusting, hard to watch and not even have a point?? yeah don't

I gotta say, The Bunny Game was pretty disturbing and hard to watch.
Half the movie is litterally just watching this Woman being brutally tortured.
I haven't seen the movie myself, but when I hear descriptions like that of movies, I just imagine it's the director trying to have people act out his sick fantasies for his own pleasure and when questioned he can just call it art.

I will have to say i never watched the exorcist but my mum said it was the scariest movie and i watched a clip and i can see why it got banned its really disturbing and what makes it even scarier that people actually died on set
Its so weird how i do not like horror movies, yet I watched “The Exorcist” 1973 so easily. I had no nightmares or anything. I still dont get it. My dad says that its prob because I dont believe in demons, devils, spirits etc.
Yeah the exorcist isn't really a scary movie it just has some scenes that a lot of people find disturbing but that movie just bored me tbh...
i think the reason the exorcist isn’t very scary is because we know ghosts and stuff isn’t real, it’s way scarier when a movie is about things that could happen in real life
This list as a whole is…off. It’s like comparing a halloween episode of SpongeBob to literally any actual horror movie. Salo is…..it’s literally just sexual depravity enacted on teenagers….based on a true story. The others are fake snuff films and then there’s Exorcist….
The movie was released when my grandma was a teen, it was pretty much *the* movie that was off it’s rocker at the time. As in it was scary back then. Now it’s not that scary because it has what we consider today “cheesy” graphics. But The Exorcist pretty much put graphic horror movies on the map. It might’ve been banned in the 1970s and not this past decade.
personally it’s a classic horror movie and seems scary back then when we were younger. but rewatching it-yeah it’s not the same lmao💀

@@rub4tosisI watched it. I am not trying to be a weird 😅 but it is really a shitty movie, especially the direction. Although the movie tried to make it like a weird fantasy involving naked teens doing weird things but of course, it was not going to be extremely explicit. All weird scenes were like those fake kissing scenes. It was so boring and I forwarded it quite a few times. But yes, it was a shitty fantasy.
@@hardworkingallele3084 yeah, i’ve seen hundreds of reviews videos showing many of those sick scenes. where were u able to find it?
I don’t think Salo should be allowed anywhere. Just look it up, disgusting.
