Given the difference in cost, Tarminator did surprisingly well. The chart idea came across well. I think this is the most professional vid you've done.
@@apexdetail85 Brian Thank you for all your help and efforts. Just would like to know if Citrol is good on Clear Coat Oxidized paint. Please let me know. Thank you
@Apex Detail This video is a couple years old. Is there any newer product that has come out that is better? Also, are these both safe on ceramic coatings?
Well it shows Citrol is def. better but I think I will still get Stoners for now. Just by price difference is so huge and I can still get the results I want even though it will take a bit longer. But that’s just my opinion. Thanks for the video though. I’m sure pro detailers that don’t have much time will prefer citrol to save time
I just a bought a used car and the wheels were neglected and never cleaned. After thoroughly cleaning them from a thick layer of brake dust, tar stains are on the barrels and won’t come off with anything I’ve tried. I haven’t used these products though mostly because they’re not over the counter at most stores. My question is, would any of these do the trick and remove the nasty tar stains on my wheel barrels? Thanks
If iron remover such as iron x wont work, you might want to try an acid based wheel cleaner to clean up the rims. Once clean stick to regular car wash and iron remover.
I'm having the same issue deep inside of my wheel barrels and lugs. I used to Adams Wheel and Tire cleaner and I also used carpro iron X, with a lug brush. It's all still there. Did you find something that worked?
Is Citrol 266 what I want to get off (super) stubborn chipseal (or fogseal?) residue? I went on a road which had recently been done. thought I was safe because no stones, but i now have a light something splattered up from the front wheel. I've made multiple attempts with 3M Adhesive Remover and the stuff isnt' budging. Luckily it's hard to notice at the angles one looks that low on the car, but I want to get it off.
What works better than both of these is the concentrated solution you can buy for removing dirt and grime from the siding or bricks on your house. Put some in a spray bottle and you will see what I mean...
Hello Brian, I haven't seen this video until today since I got some over spray in my vehicle (a neighbor painted his fence and paint splattered in medium to little size drops over the car) and off course I want to get rid of it. I've watched your other over spray video and you did it with some product Called Rapid Remover. Hence I see here that they both work great I want you to know which one do you prefer ? which one could you recommend to me?. Again congrats for another great video.
Brian...awesome..love citrol 266...great comparison...if u can get ahold of it compare spray nine citrus blaster to citrol 266...I paid 3.50 a can for the spray nine so would be awesome if it works as good..read nothing but good reviews about it...haven’t tried it yet but I know it has d-limonene in it
Ahi, Clear coat question. If the clear coat measures 4.6 how much can I safely remove. Removing a deep scratch from a very expensive Aston Martin next week. It not through but deep. Many thanks Mark
Are you sure that is the clear?!? Its usually 1,1/2 to 2 mills thick from factory.... unless it has been repainted. Make sure of that first. My Positector measures total thickness .. not layers
It should do a good job removing wax and some older or weaker sealants. I would think it would have a tougher time on fresh/new synthetic sealants especially the PTFE based sealants
I recently used Meguiar's Water Spot Remover on chrome colored hard plastic, and it surprised me and did amazingly well. When I had body work done at the Honda dealership they "tried" to remove them (or so they said) but I stumbled across the Meguiars product at Pep Boys for $6 a bottle and figured it was worth a shot. Definitely a great investment on my part.
Great video as always, I use tarminator , never had use the citrol because price, I found that the link you post has a really good price and I was pretty excited about it until I calculate shipping cost and it came to almost $ 12 for ground shipping. Do you find it locally some where?
I bought a can of Citrol on Ebay for $18.95 + free shipping. Still pricy but worth it imo. Amazon wouldn't ship to Maryland for some reason. I thought that strange.

Practice makes perfect! At video 241... Iam finally making progress!! 😂😂😂
I enjoy doing these... hope they help someone!! 👍🏻
They certainly help me. Thank you.

Found this and was great seeing them both in action. Only pain is finding Citrol 266 locally otherwise need to order online.

Great video, Brian! Thanks for the comparison, loving the channel!

You will not be disappointed with either👍🏻
Apex Detail Awesome! Thanks again for the information
Hello Brian. Have you used the Chemical Guys Bug and Tar Remover yet?

Hi. Which one would you use on paint protection film to remove tar, sap and bugs? Thanks.

Can these be used on PPF film?

@Apex detail would waterless wash be sufficient to flush the Citrol off?
Will the Citrol burn PPE or what do you recommend
Methyl hydrate works Easy on tree sap put on rag and dab no rubbing
Hey what would you recommend to use on ppf?
Not much bug splatter in my area, will be happy with Stoner's Bug Eraser
where do you buy citrol localy? :/
But still a great video and a good job.....very informative..
So it appears neither product damages the clear-coat in anyway. Has this been your experience for every car you have used it on?
I've got about ten cans of tarminator under my belt, no problems so far but the overspray will be obvious on plastic, but wipes off fine

Citrol or Tar X? What one is more economical? Thank you for your time Brian.
Tar X...however...Citrol is so effective...it should break out even.
Are you still around hero?
Thanks! Great video!!
Jimmy Johnson Sure thing!

I will put it up against Citrol
Hand sanitizer will remove tree sap............................................a trick I learned in Tahoe.
Rapid remover test?

Clear coat question.

How about hard water spots?
@symphx1 Here's your answer: ua-cam.com/video/xBLGe--6cQA/v-deo.html
rapid remover not in this competition?
does stoner remove waxes and sealants also

Great head to head. 👍
therushden Thank you good sir!!
Love your glasses! Lol
Thanks...getting eye procedures....need these for quite some time! :)
I vote for the Blues Brothers look.
Victor Hernandez The Blues Brothers!!! Those were the days!! 🎬
Thank you Penn Dot :)
Can you use Cotrol for hard water spots? Thank you!
If they are quite fresh...if they have been there a while...compound is needed.
Hey brian good test it worked for me. But to the answer on hard water spots, can i compound my windshield glass? It has hard water spots. Thanks.

There are two places locally... a farm supply store and diesel repair shop for large trucks
Apex Detail how do you think the rapid remover will stand up with the citrol 266?
They are very close...Citrol is a bit more versatile
@@apexdetail85 Wilson auto detailing believes citrol is more versatile. Could we get a comparison video in the near future please?
Im thinking wd40 would do this job,I've tried it on tar and works great
ROBERTO COWBOYS absolutely terrible for paint
I will give you like #700 for this. I'm also wondering how Citrol does compared to 3D Bug Remover with its enzyme for bugs.
$18 Shipping, now that's a bargain! I will stick with stoner
Free shipping on Prime! 👍👌✌

Road work in your area Brian? Ya don't say lol
😂😂 Right in front of the damn shop!!!
you didn't spray as much stoner as you did Citrol
Rain x works great too
Methyl hydrate works much faster and a lot cheaper
Great video, very informative. But, lose the sun glasses. Spoiled the video.
LOL. You are easily spoiled.
