I'm impressed when any large sized mod manages to get off the ground -- let alone take the mod to gamedev pipeline. Having made several massive mods for different games, and now working on an indie game, it's equally difficult in different ways. It takes all you have either way.
Imagine you mod a game and create a whole new Genre. POG! aka being the Father of Fortnite and others. Thank you for this video, gives some hope. Working on a compromise between Roller Coaster Tycoon and so called "Block Droppers" for an audience wwhich rather plays "Block droppers" than decent games. Hope I catch up with on this audience with something they already love to play but made fancy enough to standout and a "real game".

This game I requested is "The Forgotten City", the mystery adventure role-playing game set in the Roman Empire, it was started as the Skyrim mod. The mod have 5 million downloads, and received the award from Australian Writer's Guild. RIP to all the devs who made HL2 based mods turned into games still waiting for half life 3 to come out for their own sequel
That's neat and all, but if your end goal is game development, you should get started with actual game development as soon as possible.
POG. PUBG is not a first battle royale game! Very first battle royale game was ARK survival of the fittest! Please, check and remember this fact.
