My brother committed suicide. My heart is tender and hurts when thinking of Judas. I will be praying for the young man Luke playing Judas. He has the hardest role aside from Jesus. I pray as Luke plays this part, that God overhelms him with his love and that God's amazing love is revealed through Luke playing the part of Judas. Thank you for making Chosen!!!
@@elizabethhorst7170 in all honesty if we look at the life of Christ upon this earth as the manifest image of God that was displayed before man in the gospels, we do not see any evidence that Jesus/God backed away from sinners. In fact sin can only be defeated by the realization of his closeness to the human condition of sin/brokenness. Love you!
Judas wasn’t evil, he’s the epitome of those who like the idea of Jesus, but they never really get who Jesus really is. They want the benefits but not the cross. Those who remain in the world even after an encounter with Jesus. Judas tried to keep on foot in the world, never totally sold out to Jesus. He never repented of what he did he felt guilt and regret but not repentance.
Judas just fell into the greed of what money does to the human brain! God allowed Judas to choose. Judas chose wrong! Tons of humans do horrible things when it comes to money. I am in NO way defending Judas lol but I was just adding to your comment Iechatbotte because it reminded me of greed and what money and or fortune can do to any person. =)
Also..Jesus made it clear that many will say Lord, Lord and he will say, depart from me I never knew you....the same with scores of people that go to church but worship only the idea of Christ. I believed in Christ but lived 'the world'. Once I cried out to God " am I being deceived"? He answered with the true Gospel, on TV, then immediately after, an encounter! During that encounter I remember thinking...its all real, every word!... So make sure your following Jesus...forgive all, don't judge, give and let the Holy Spirit change you as you read the living word of God.
You got to remember that Judas was more than likely threatened as well not just bribed they probably told him "hey we can come an arrest Jesus an kill those defending him including you or you can give him up and we'll spare your life an even give you some silver to drown your sorrows with"... I think he was afraid just like most people and wasn't ready to die for Jesus like some of the other disciples were an did but that is also why the Bible is so credible as well because people died for the testimony of Jesus Christ ...most would have lied or denied our Lord to save their skin just like Judas did.
I think we already saw a hint of the show's angle of how Judas' betrayal will be portrayed: In the scene talking to his mentor, Judas hates having deceived the land owner. But the moment his mentor gives him some cash and time off, his demeanor changes. I've seen this happen a lot in politics, and I have been just as guilty: In exchange for some food, a party, or a $600 stimulus check, people give certain politicians their vote. They then get angry that these politicians are nothing but crooks and in it for themselves. Just imagine all the Blessings we deny ourselves by not having 100% faith in the power of The Creator of everything.
I'll never understand the villain take on Judas - he's the ironic character. Everyone hates Matthew. He's the tax collector who has a true conversion but still nobody trusts him. But ALL the disciples trust Judas with the money! He was probably the most handsome, most well-liked, the "anti-Matthew" which makes it like Luke is saying, he's a tragedy. He's any of us. We get tempted and can fall away and make a royal mess. It's perfect that Luke is likeable and smiles, he's trustworthy, then like we probably would, he blows it when it counts. Which is sad but it's a lesson for us. He could have gone to Jesus with his doubts but kept up appearances....
When I pondered the question, what if Judas didn't kill himself but returned (like Peter), I seemed to receive the answer like this: Mary Magdalene in Episode 6 returned; Peter returned; Rabbi Saul of Tarsus came to Christ. He could have been any of them; and we could have been him, too.
@@clintonlagdameo1277 100% Clinton. Peter messed up Thomas didn't believe anything (doubting) I mean all Judas needed to do was plead "Master please help me" but maybe the lesson for us is not to do things in our own power, because horrible outcomes can occur...
Did Peter really return on his own? Jesus found him and he ran to him but Gospels don't say "Peter said Master I'm sorry". The "Do you love me" 3 times says a lot but Peter hid after they took Jesus and denied him.
Really looking forward to Luke's performance and seeing this character develope. I suspect we're going to like this guy Judas, but it's really strange knowing that this likeable guy is absolutely going to break my heart. With that being said good luck Luke!
But wouldn't the Roman's always be able to find Jesus? Kind of silly they had Judas do that when he wasn't hiding his whole life, Jesus wasn't like that. They could have gone to any crowd.
Interesting to see this comment in this moment,..🤔 Where is “Luke” and why am I not seeing the apostle Luke,.. or do I need to search better 🤔 Did Luke have another name like Simon/Peter? 🤔
ZERO EVIDENCE OF THE JEWS BEFORE 950 BCE, BUT YOU HAVE INVISBLE SUPERHEROES AND ETERNAL LIFE? JESUS CHRIST ALSO THOUGHT THE EARLY BIBLE WAS TOTALLY REAL, BUT NO ONE HAS YET FOUND EVIDENCE, POWDERPUFF! BRAINWASHING IS A BEAUTIFUL THING. ESP[ECIALLY ON THE HIGH GROUND BETWEEN THREE CONTINENTS, BUTTERCUP.
@@martinkent333 You are so filled with hate; I hope and pray that you find Jesus, ask for forgiveness and He will change your heart ❤ and life forever 🧎♀️🙌🌷
Could not have found a better actor!!! To find someone who has the same mentality about Judas and who has been wanting to explore this character for so long. Amazing.
Love Luke’s honesty and dynamic perspective on playing Judas. I have always felt we each have betrayed Christ is ways throughout our faith journey. Judas just takes it much further but we could have been him easily too.
I really don't think he took it so far...he just didn't know it would have such a huge ripple effect. it was just thirty pieces of silver and if JESUS wanted to defend himself he could have escaped. Fending off the Pharisees was nothing new and pilate gave him so many opportunities to save himself but he chose not to. Speaks to JESUS' resolve to lay down his life...I'm not justifying what he did but I believe like many of us, Judas was simply very shortsighted and didn't see his betrayal leading to such greivous consequences especially when he had a front seat to some of JESUS' most volatile confrontations and seeing how he skirted all of them. He rationalised that it was not a big deal.
i looked at Juda as statistics, 1 out of 12 does what Juda did.....someone had to represent such people.....because Juda is not just a sinner, he is lost from the Kingdom of God, because he knew what he did and took his own life...some of these people who do terrible stuff ( mass gunshots, Hitler etc)...they do the same
Judas served as a cautionary tale for everyone, and Luke being excited by having the opportunity to portray the Chosen’s take on Judas’ life leading up to his ultimate betrayal (in my opinion) does good work for the Kingdom by portraying Judas just like all the other Characters in The Chosen: real human beings making real human decisions. While all of us want to be as faithful as Peter and Zealous as Z, we must also look at Judas, someone who walked, talked, ate, and bore personal witness to Jesus Christ yet STILL fell to sin knowing that we could fall in that same trap, that same greed. Jesus didn’t forgive Judas because Judas betrayed Him, or else we would suffer the same fate. Judas died unforgiven because he fell into self-loathing and committed suicide before he could repent. The last thing we Christians need to do is say that God would never forgive us for what we’ve done. God’s Grace and Mercy is infinite, and we must acknowledge that even though we don’t deserve forgiveness, it’s always there. All we have to do is humble ourselves and ask.
I mean, the way they introduced Judas is something special. It was never done this way, nobody even thought about bringing out that human element of Judas. I remember when we saw the scene with the dealer and apprentice for the first time I was like, is that a flashback? Looks like one. Then there was that conversation in the pub where apprentice talks about doing something remembered throughout history and it dawned on me. My wife didn't know even though she was the one who said we didn't see Judas yet just before we started the last episode. So when the big revelation came she was like ooooooooh! And I really enjoyed the little foreshadowing with buying someone's field, such a nice touch. The writing on this show is on the highest level as is all the production and acts. I think what you're doing will change the way Bible-based media is done.
Woah mind blown. I was just like your wife when they revealed it but I did not pick up the connection with tombs and buying of a field until you brought it up! Wow! Thank you!
So sad, so much of Judas not in Bible but we know he lived and prayed and ate with them for aa long time. He joked, laughed, probably cried....one day we might know
@@Young_Special when judas threw his 30 silver pieces back to the temple they bought a potters field with it. So judas buying someone's field I feel is a foreshadowing of that.
Many saints pray and if Jesus said on the cross to forgive those who took off his skin, who hurt him, why not Judas in that group? To love your neighbor as yourself. He knew he gave money back, he knew he was sorry, he knew he did the worst thing and I feel his "better not born" was because he knew how his history would be remembered. He wants us to be forgiving and ask for it, but as Terese of Avila, I will hope and pray he did later.
When I first heard him say his name, "Judas", on the sermon of the mount episode, I was SHOCKED! And, in my heart I wanted him to be Jude, the other disciple, Jude. Wasn't there another disciple, Jude? He is a really likable, non-threatening character! Even Simon liked him in that first meeting. Perfect casting! I love the CHOSEN!
This is probably one of my favorite cast interviews to watch. Only TC can take bad guys and portray them in such a way that you genuinely like them. They casted Judas perfectly.
I love that so many of the actors have Middle Eastern heritage, for example, Mr. Dimyan having a Coptic Orthodox background. Their ancestors were the first Christians.
I love everything the Chosen is doing. The story of Judas will be no different. I’ve always thought of Judas as someone who’s story hasn’t really been told! Prayers for the whole process! 🙏🏼❤️
Luke is bringing the humanity of Judas to the character. He has an insight into his motivation that hasn’t been revealed before. I’m excited to see how it all comes together.
I love how 2 Franciscan Friars were reviewing The Chosen, and LOVED how Judas was handsome and normal and not the ugly caricatures that help people hate someone, devilish looks, huge hook nose etc. i look forward to his performance.
You can’t know how moved I am by you showing us the humanity of Judas and how great this actor’s portrays Judas. So intriguing to watch this character develop. Judas had to have been loved by many, including all the disciples, and even Jesus even though He knew Judas would betray Him. Such a lesson for us to learn that even of one of Jesus’ disciples could be tempted to that extreme, how can we think we are above or immune to temptation. It makes me so sad to think of all the times I have let Jesus down and yet there is always forgiveness and redemption. Is it possible that in the moments before Judas took his last breath there repentance, forgiveness and redemption? And I wonder if that will be part of the story you tell. Thank you again for this series.
I really hope and pray that he was saved by saying sorry to jesus. That type of fall to your story? It's downright heartbreaking, and it makes me sick... he's a human being like me. I hate that type of downfall.
For only hearing of "The Chosen" a few weeks ago, I've already watched the first season 3 times and I'm on my third time through season two. I can't get enough of the show, it is so powerful and amazing! God bless you all for making such a great show. I only wish I was able to give more.
I like how The Chosen is like the first show his grandma ever binge watched. That could have been me with this show. I didn't binge watch this show either because many of the episodes are so powerful I wanted to break for a day at the end of every episode and just marinade on what I saw. Watching the whole season at once would be a challenge because the show is so intense. Here with Luke as Judas....I can tell already that this one is going to hurt! The brilliance of this show comes through in all of its elements. Very proud of everyone who's a part of this! 🥰
What is such a testimony to both Dallas’ directing and Luke’s acting is that they make you like Judas right from the beginning. They make you want him to join the team and come to know Jesus personally. They make you think just a little in the back of your mind “No, no way, he won’t betray Jesus” even though you know he will. That’s what is so brilliant about this show.
I really loved Luke's portrayal of Judas in season 2. And knowing that he's a bit of a geek makes me love the actor even more! Can't wait to see how his character progresses through the seasons, and with him being such a likeable guy, it's gonna hurt even more when he has his eventual fall.
I'm so happy I watched this interview. When I saw the episode where Judas was introduced, I was extremely upset that this nice (and Biblically knowledgeable) guy was Judas. He had been talking to his friend over a meal about right and wrong, and I thought the friend was Judas. But no...the good guy was Judas. I thought, How in the world are they going to play this out? So, I feel better now that some of the background was discussed. And, yes, I can see that Luke Dimyan is a good choice even though it breaks my heart. I've always agonized over the real Judas ending his life instead of going before the Lord Jesus and asking His forgiveness. I've only recently come to terms with it. I'm looking forward to Season 3. God bless you all for working so hard to bring the greatest story ever told to us in such a realistic way.
I also agonized how Judas did not come to back to Christ...I always imagined how it would've been like for him to meet the risen Jesus..But he did what he did.
I used to wonder about this, too. How could he walk so closely with Jesus (in person!) for years and be so lost? I thought I was a believer for most of my life… from 10-15 years old, and until I was 36…until one moment when the word of God pierced my heart and I understood my wickedness compared to God’s holiness and for the first time, understood repentance. My heart was changed in that moment. Looking at Judas in that context, I finally realized, “he didn’t know he didn’t believe. He didn’t know he didn’t understand. He never really knew who Jesus was. He struggled and probably didn’t even know *why* he couldn’t “do it right”.” I thought I was a lousy Christian for decades- that it was hard, and painful, and confusing. No matter how much I wanted to follow Jesus- I didn’t know how. Of course, now I know I was doing it without the Spirit of God in me to guide me. The life of Judas shows me how closely you can follow Jesus and still be so. very. lost. *I* was Judas. And I am grateful that Jesus opened my eyes to Who He Is before it was too late for me and for my children. I can’t wait to see Luke play this role and make us have love and compassion for Judas. I hope it makes all of us more compassionate toward people who are difficult to love or who have done things that are hard to forgive. Judas was born to do what he did. God used him to get Jesus to the cross. Had he not betrayed Jesus, God would have made another way, but it’s sort of striking to consider that Judas is someone the world loves to hate, but our redemption is due, in part, to his betrayal of Jesus. Of all the wicked things that happen in the world- we ask “why?!! Why did this have to happen?” In this case, it was for us. That just occurred to me, and it makes me even more sad for the real Judas… because there could have been redemption for him. There could have been forgiveness for his betrayal, just like there is for ours. But it was not to be. I find that humbling. Make us love him, Luke! Can’t wait!
I love this series! I just now started watching it with my husband. I’ve studied scripture for 30 years, but seeing this show has truly enlightened me. It’s brought it to life for me. Praise God!
Oh my! Judas is going to teach us all so much!! This will end up to be one of the most important learning opportunities to why our world looks the way that it does today. Fear. Fear over powering love. Fear that hides under all betrayals everywhere. I am sending Luke all kinds of Love, prayers and well wishes for his courage, so all of us can learn the important lesson!
Judas was Sad or disappointed in the tavern based on his previous behaviors. But once he got the bag of money he became happy and his conflicted self slipped away. Money is important to him thus he is the epitome of “the love of money is the root of all evil”
I'm pretty sure they will show him being torn between following Jesus and pleasures of this world. I'm just looking forward to how they actually handle that, so far the writing has been top notch.
he never wanted the money. Never. That was to help them when Jesus fought back the Romans which he never would do. A truly bad person wouldn't have thrown the money away and hung himself. Do you realize the depth of sorrow and remorse to do that? I pray he said he was sorry before or right after his death.
Dallas saying Luke is God's man for the role is such a profound and deep way to look at it given the story of Judas. Because it shows that it's much more than him just being another villain in a story. And I love that. The Lord wants to do so much more with his story by helping us to realize and remember that he was a person who once loved Jesus. Who helped spread his message. Tragedy is absolutely right. And I so look forward to what The Chosen is going to do.
I’ve been watching a series called Poldark, a story about England in the late 18th early 19th century. It’s really good and I’ve noticed they say ‘Judas’ when agitated instead of what people usually say these days! Love it!
I love hearing your perspective, Dallas. Such a deep perspective about Judas, a real human who didn’t set out to be this evil dude. I will watch with interest to see how you deal with aspects about how God plans things, about Judas’ own perspective and his humanity. I don’t want to like Judas, but I think in the end, I will be far more empathetic.
This is a great interview; as a Catholic Christian we love this show and ALL its characters; Dallas is doing a great job in bringing The Word to this broken world and the depth and focus he's taken in detailing not only the life and mission of Christ but his disciples has never been done before on screen; I've seen probably every film ever made on the Life of Christ and Dallas has topped them all bar none.........the late Bishop Fulton Sheen talked at length in a interview about both Judas and Peter because actually they BOTH betrayed Christ..........but...........Peter repented unto the Lord before his death on the cross and eventually gave strength to his fellow disciples after the Resurrection............Judas on the other hand lost his place forever by repenting only unto himself and by committing suicide unfortunately gave away his only chance for peace and salvation..........I've been very lucky that even though at times I've been both a Judas and Peter to some degree but through the grace of God have always been called back into his Love; so thanks again Dallas for a awesome portrayal of the Life of Christ for us all.
As a person AND actor, on a PAR with Jonathan, this guy is SO real and lovable. Up there with Roumie as my favorite person on the show. Oh, and God bless his Grandma!
So interesting to see how God already had Luke in mind to play this part! Dallas, you made us love him from the beginning just like the other disciples! Looking forward to how this whole journey will play out! Praying for all of you to continue in the footsteps of our Lord! Thank you all for being so faithful to the vision of the Gospel!
Welcome Luke to the cast. Praying over you as you play perhaps the most difficult role on set. I've always felt compassion for Judas....I believe that you will present a Judas that most people will find to be surprising. Blessings from Canada.
Oh my goodness, I LOVE this guy! I just know he will play Judas Iscariot the best way possible! I believe in your writing and directing skills Dallas, that the Holy Spirit will show you exactly what to have him portray to the world! I will continue to be praying for this show and the outreach it will have in these Last Days that we're in!! Exciting stuff!!! For sure. Shalom 🕊️✝️❤️🙋
I love this actor!! Genuinely so himself!! Nothing is staged with this group! Such a different bts than the very STAGED actors we all know. I’m an actress and this is so amazing to see. I gave it up when my faith was restored but Dallas has really changed up the future of this industry!! I could cry! Thank you God, Ahayah, for giving us a fresh up to date view into your only begotten son , Yeshayah or Jesus Christ! We are so blessed! Amen!!
You know what’s so crazy and awful and wonderfully beautiful? We all could have ended up like Judas……”by grace you’ve been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”Ephesians 2:8 To understand this brings life in Him.
This makes me reflect on the fact that Jesus did know that Judas would betray him, to fulfill the Scriptures. But the message, I think, that we are to ponder is that Jesus, even to the end was offering Judas a way out, to resist temptation. But in the end, of course, Judas chose betrayal. And that decision was not a snap decision, but Judas obviously was headed toward this momentous act of betrayal by a series of wrong choices. It is a warning to all of us that our choices lead to a result and that Satan is lying in wait to destroy us, any way he can. I would expect that the writers have crafted this character to communicate this warning, pertinent and applicable to us all.
And told him to go and do it quickly at Passover. Who would not if his mind was on Jesus overthrowing the Romans, not think Jesus was telling him it was okay?
Truly the perfect person for this role. I love how 'Judas' is Coptic Orthodox, they have the BEST explanations for everything Christianity and I learned more from/filled so many holes from Catholic school with their videos! Judas having a gun collection behind him during audition, that's just too perfect lol.
Sometimes when you watch actor interviews, you are disappointed by the actors. Not so with the chosen. All the actors are such delightful people that I would love to be friends with.
I love how he says he's always thought of Judas. I've always pondered what Judas must have truly been like. I to don't believe he started out with thoughts of betrayal. Even though ultimately he did. And as Christ said it would have been better had he not been born
Oh my goodness could he be any more adorable?! 🥰What an amazing young man and he is so superb in this role! God bless him and everyone involved in The Chosen!
An insight from Paul Vanderklay that helped me to see Judas with more depth was that, perhaps when Judas betrayed Christ, it wasn't purely out of greed or because he had suddenly become evil, but perhaps what Judas was hoping was that he could pressure Jesus into some great act against the Romans. Perhaps he was hoping it would be something like a marvel movie, where capt. America is on the brink of defeat then rises to the challenge to defeat the bad guy once and for all! In some sense, that's exactly what happened, but it was nothing like Judas, or anyone, could have imagined. His betrayal clearly tore Judas apart. He didn't keep the silver he was offered, and clearly hated himself for what he had done enough to take his own life. I'm really glad to hear that Luke views this character as a tragic figure, rather than some mustache twirling villain. I am very excited to see his portrayal of this pivotal role.
Very excited to watch the character of Judas develop. I knew in the first scene, that Luke was going to be Judas. I was reading into things but I just saw depth in Luke's acting. And I knew Dallas would make us love him right away! This was a great interview!
Today, I’ve been catching up on info-vids that i missed over the last year or so. I just watched this one. Luke, i know it’s been over a year since this interview, but i wanted to let you know that you are portraying Judas beautifully! One of my favorite scenes of yours is in season 3, when all the disciples are around the table with Jesus @ Simon’s house. When Z finds out that Matthew was a tax collector, his wasn’t the only great performance. Your facial expression was perfect as you ‘realized’ that a zealot and a tax collector were going to be traveling together. Alone. It made me laugh! Thank you for your part in this incredible show. You’re truly doing a great job.
Tbf, I think Judas NEVER imagined that the consequences of his actions would result in Christs death. He probably didn't think Jesus COULD die! He was a bit of a zealot and possibly thought his actions would cause Christ to become quicker, and they did in a way and the only difference between him and Peter was that Peter repented! 🤷♀️ and remember Christ couldn't have done what he did for us, without him! I am so glad he was introduced as a decent and humble guy! ❤ Go Judas ( can you say that? 😂)
So much to say here!! I was so glad to hear his grace toward the real Judas. He knows that he, just like all of us, was human. His humility because of his ~own~ relationship with Christ is what is enabling him to play this role. And why God chose him to do so!
Do read the Charles Wright poem":St.Judas." He is ready to kill himself, and sees a man being beaten to death--Judas is doomed--but he runs to help--and ignores the soldiers"....".Flayed without hope,I held the man for nothing in my arms."--Powerful poem remembered since grad school....!!!!!!!!!!
My family just recently watched both seasons for the first time (we are late to the game lol). We were very interested who was going to play Judas and how he would be introduced. My husband is a minister and he was happy that he looks just all the other guys. Just your normal guy, nothing scary or suspicious about him. Jesus knew what he would ultimately do, but no one else had a clue. Even during the last supper, they didn't know who would betray Jesus. Looking forward to future seasons and how everything plays out!
Own that nerdiness! You're amazing, Luke, and I love your portrayal of Judas so far. I love the idealism you bring and the subtle way you handled the moral gray that led to Judas being the accursed one. Bless you and your role!
Played Judas for a few years in the Zion Passion Play (1990's) which is my favorite and most rewarding role. Love what the Chosen is doing with this character.
I hope Luke is mentally, emotionally and physically strong playing Judas. Reason being, their are ppl who can't separate the Actor from the Character. I think interviews like this could help ppl realize that he is doing his JOB to tell the story of Yashua.I would hate to see this handsome with so much talent and life commit suicide because the public can't comprehend thar he is PRETENDING to be Judas. The actual Judas Iscariot died a gazillion years ago. I love you Luke. Keep up the good work.
The way you introduced Judas totally fooled me, I had zero suspicion that character was Judas. LOL We were shown what a good kid this guy was. I really liked this character. The shock when he's introduced as Judas was huge! We get to see that Judas isn't a one sided bad guy who does bad things because he's bad. He's shown as being really normal, not much different than any of us in fact. That's frightening to think about.
I’m so looking forward to how his character is built through the next several seasons. He is so cute and loveable. *squeal* I can’t wait! We know you’ll do it justice. Congratulations on the roll. You’ll be the guy everybody loves to hate!
This is one year ago but I love hearing this kind of conversation. Luke is such an in depth person. He's like the goofy one but mahn, just by listening to him you'll know he's a great guy.
I appreciate that you and Luke Dimyan want to portray Judas in a compassionate light, Dallas, And I think that Luke is a very good actor who will do a very good job in the role... I just hope you guys don’t go to “soft“ with the portrayal of Judas. Nothing in the scripture reveals Judas Iscariot as a nice, genuine, guileless guy who just wants to do the right thing. He IS revealed as a person who was highly motivated by the desire for wealth and power- a self seeking, unrepentant thief with utter contempt for women and zero concern for the poor. Where Peter was excruciatingly aware of his sins and sought out forgiveness, Judas did not. He did not love the Lord and he did not understand or believe in the forgiveness freely offered by him. I don’t think he believed in any of Christ’s teachings nor did he comprehend his purpose and mission. Consider John 12:3-6, NLT: “... Mary took a twelve-ounce jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard, and she anointed Jesus’ feet with it, wiping his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance. But Judas Iscariot, the disciple who would soon betray him, said, “That perfume was worth a year’s wages. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor.” Not that he cared for the poor-he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples’ money, he often stole some for himself.”
Gripping Interview!! Dallas my late pastor had REMARKABLE insight into Judas, so I will share. He believed Judas was trying to manipulate Jesus into fighting the government to become a literal king in that day. He loved Him deeply, but got antsy and thought He just needed a little 'push' to make it happen. Maybe that thought came from satan? But Judas did not believe Jesus would actually be taken and killed, but instead would reveal His divine nature and rule. My pastor also believed Judas was murdered, as no one can suicide to the point of splitting themselves open with a knife and their guts spilling out while they are hanging. My pastor hopes Judas repented and tells us to not be surprised or offended if he's in heaven when we get there. Fun to wonder... 🍿
Hi I would be curious to know what Book, Chapter and verse that was stated in the Bible! God bless you and your loved ones in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ!
I have to say that this is probably the best picture of the life of Christ that I’ve ever seen. Knowing the end of Judas makes me appreciate the way his character is portrayed so much more. Fantastic job all the way around from all of you! It’s great to see these characters portrayed in a real light, not at all like the old motion pictures that were dry and without light
Because of getting to know Luke, this is the first time in my life that I actually have compassion for Judas. Being able to see him as a fellow flawed human.
So true. Judas is a complex character. He's not just a mustache twirling villain. It's almost like people forget that he was a disciple, a follower who performed miracles with the other disciples. It's going to be an interesting character study to see his gradual descent to the dark side. But then you think, was it slow and gradual? What was it that made him turn. My guess is his idealism was shattered - expectations destroyed. Maybe he was expecting too much. Maybe he was fooled. Naive? I don't know personally but i'm looking forward to seeing how Luke grows the character from idealist to that fateful kiss. Either way, his suicide at the end shows regret and heavy depression so there was still love for Jesus even at the end. It's going to be quite the roller coaster of emotions!

My little sister committed suicide. May Grace be with you, now and always and your brother was recieved by Jesus' open arms. Peace be with you.
We have all betrayed him at some point. Love always wins.
Love you!
Absolutely God is LOVE and God is light.
@@elizabethhorst7170 it does...I almost lost God entirely!!!
And will continue to. THANK GOD for repentance
Exactly. As Peter denied Jesus 3 times. Jesus said it himself in John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me"
Judas wasn’t evil, he’s the epitome of those who like the idea of Jesus, but they never really get who Jesus really is.
“Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?” - John 6:70 Jesus used pretty strong language for Judas though.
When I pondered the question, what if Judas didn't kill himself but returned (like Peter), I seemed to receive the answer like this:
Mary Magdalene in Episode 6 returned;
Peter returned;
Rabbi Saul of Tarsus came to Christ.
He could have been any of them; and we could have been him, too.
@@clintonlagdameo1277 100% Clinton.
Peter messed up
Thomas didn't believe anything (doubting)
I mean all Judas needed to do was plead "Master please help me" but maybe the lesson for us is not to do things in our own power, because horrible outcomes can occur...
My sentiments exactly. When he said "I'm Judas" I said Nooooo! But I like you! It is going to be so great!
Ya he is likeable. Beautiful blue eyes.
All the very best playing Judas Luke. God bless you young man.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! We are ALL SINNERS! And, thank the Lord, He provides a way of forgiveness! Praise you, Lord!!
Yes and he was imperative for all of the work to be done on the cross.
I love this interview and how this show has brought so many actors together in a way only God could do💕💕💕🐝
I mean, the way they introduced Judas is something special.
He joked, laughed, probably cried....one day we might know
What does "Buying Someone's Field" mean, really?
@@Young_Special when judas threw his 30 silver pieces back to the temple they bought a potters field with it. So judas buying someone's field I feel is a foreshadowing of that.
@@mikosoft ahh
I've never wept over Judas before but I can feel that coming, thanks to The Chosen and Luke Dimyan.
In Jesus Christ Superstar it was about Judas's side/perspective and it was very sad.
yes....Ad Judas and the loving sister? She is left with no family.
The good Jude is also known as Thaddeus in the Bible. So, yeah, the show's had him for a while.👍
Luke is so likeable and I love his approach to the role. I think he'll knock it out of the park.
This is probably one of my favorite cast interviews to watch. Only TC can take bad guys and portray them in such a way that you genuinely like them. They casted Judas perfectly.
Great conversation with Luke Dimyan. I love watching Judas Iscariot's storyline in The Chosen. Kudos to the writers.
Wonderuful talk with this now challenged actor!Wow
I think even the way he looks is perfect for the role, there’s something pure and innocent about his eyes.
Such a great cast 👏
I love that so many of the actors have Middle Eastern heritage, for example, Mr. Dimyan having a Coptic Orthodox background. Their ancestors were the first Christians.
I love everything the Chosen is doing. The story of Judas will be no different. I’ve always thought of Judas as someone who’s story hasn’t really been told! Prayers for the whole process! 🙏🏼❤️
I agree. There's a lot of prejudice about it.
I am sure he was a good person but tempted...but I feel sad that he committed suicide😢😢😢.
I am hoping that he had time to repent
Yeah, I feel like that too. He was Jesus' deciple and I hope so too. God bless
I have a feeling this portrayal of Judas is going to give a whole new perspective on forgiveness.
I'm literally hoping for that
It better... this generation has lost touch to the art of forgiveness.
May the Lord remind people how important it is to forgive.
Luke comes across as a very likeable young man , look forward to his journey as Judas .🙏🕊♥️
Same. I want them to interview his Grandmother!😂❤️
I totally thought the Same thing!! 😮 😁👍
Can’t wait!

But remember he tried to give it back, when he realized the depth of his actions and the consequences of it.
I'm pretty sure they will show him being torn between following Jesus and pleasures of this world. I'm just looking forward to how they actually handle that, so far the writing has been top notch.
True. His Demeanor changed when the money was offered. T'was like all his afore-grievances had vanished. 🤔
John says Judas was thief that would steal from the money box.
he never wanted the money. Never. That was to help them when Jesus fought back the Romans which he never would do. A truly bad person wouldn't have thrown the money away and hung himself. Oh I love Poldark.
I agree and i think that’s the intent. The writing is so great
Doesn’t take himself too seriously-great sense of humor-approachable-fun interview.

You know what’s so crazy and awful and wonderfully beautiful? We all could have ended up like Judas……”by grace you’ve been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”Ephesians 2:8
To understand this brings life in Him.
I hope he knows that when we found out who he was a lot of us were like. Emotionally devastated.
He's PERFECT. So expressive.
Can't wait to see how Jesus treats Judas!
Go Judas ( can you say that?
I can't wait to see how the episodes turn out for Judas!
I’m so excited to see him play Judas, I think he’s perfect!
I absolutely love this actor. He's already got me humanizing Judas.
He won’t screw it up! He will do great because the show is great and he is great! Prayers for all of you and your families
This my absolute favorite interview. I’ve watched it multiple times. He’s such a geek! 🥰🤓
This man named Luke, has the type of eyes that always make me melt, sigh.
This is the interview that made me really excited to see Luke in more episodes. ❤️
I’m so looking forward to how his character is built through the next several seasons. He is so cute and loveable.
*squeal* I can’t wait! We know you’ll do it justice. Congratulations on the roll. You’ll be the guy everybody loves to hate!
Or hates that they can't help but love?! 😉
Can't wait to see how this character is developed. 🙌
Consider John 12:3-6, NLT:
You had me at “Mangas and Light Saber collection!” Love it! Such a great actor! I’m so glad God chose you for this role!
"Let faith have its purpose." 🧡
I love that this program takes you into a deeper dimension of the characters that are involved 16:09
Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻 Stay blessed 🌻
Looking forward to the development of his character! God bless you all!
I love the approach they take about these topics.
I so miss seeing new episodes of the chosen …so ready for the new season love you guys !
