Watching this, it's easier to see the difference between Jonathan and him as Jesus. Such a difference even in his physicality and face! I know there is a bit of costume and makeup that helps but he looks very much like him. Same with George and John. I can see the acting in their character work. They are great professionals.
I love how every season shows another side of Jesus. I love "scolding Jesus" in sons of thunder when he gets frustrated with John and big James. "You think you're so much better? Well let me tell you something. You're not. And that's the whole point" . My favorite lines in the whole series.
Thank you George for this interview with Jonathan. For me his Jesus in The Chosen series is actually in the voice….. I do not know - other people say “his eyes, his acting, his looks” but for me it is HIS VOICE and words he is saying in each episode. Obviously you can call it technique but what this “technique” has now produced worldwide for people watching him as Jesus…you just wonder now how this is possible just from acting technique and stillness? Sometimes he complained in his interviews having only 5 lines in episodes BUT … those 5 lines spoken in HIS VOICE are liquid gold and ethereal.
Liquid Gold. That was a perfect descriptive phrase!! There is something very special about Jonathan’s portrayal of Jesus. Not to sound hokey, but his portrayal of Jesus brought me back to prayer. I always prayed, but in my own way, and now I’m seeing the rosary again. So whatever the magic is, whether it’s in the story or the actors, or both combined it’s helping me spiritually, and I’m very grateful for that.
This is where I really wish there was a “love” button. This was so good! I learned so much more about Jonathan and his acting process. Very interesting!
At 10:49 on this interview Jonathan say, “sometimes it’s not even a tangible thing” and for a split second his face goes out of focus and the picture on the wall behind him comes into focus. Very interesting.

We are so blessed to have both of you superb actors on the chosen .Jonathan never disappoints me ,as his portrayal of Jesus. he’s so extremely humble, knowing he’s Christ for a small moment ,it sure comes across in film . I truly don’t think another actor could’ve done Christ in this manner. He was so human but yet spiritually connected to his craft. Love you . May all the glory go to the living God.😊

The whole cast has so much knowledge and experience. I didn’t know actors were this intelligent and well read. Where I live nepotism is the norm, and actors’ kids who dropped out of high school become actors with no qualifications.
Johnathan, in this interview you mentioned you had some bullying in younger years. All I could do is smile and think of the country singer Toby Keith's song "How Do Like Me Now"! Sorry, but I can no longer stand it when I hear anything about bullying! A year or so ago Toby Keith passed away after his struggle with cancer. RIP Toby. ❤❤ Johnathan, I so admire and respect you! Wow, that was fun, fun, and fun, Mr. George, thanks for the great interview with Johnathan, and sharing both of your background information. As for Jonathan, who can not love the man who is playing Jesus. You got him to share some of his early work stories, and his "grow" jobs before he got to the Chosen. Thanks you so much for the great stuff you do not normally hear on. I am sure you hear enough of praise for you Chosen work but it seem that Dallas has the "master" touch with the actors. I have never scene a cast where almost every actors is way above average in the ability. Jonathan, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Yourself, Erick, and a few other are just fantastic in their acting. I hope they do not get famous and end up leaving the series because of other offers. I have watch a few "behind the scenes" on Directing with Dallas, and he is wonderful at his job. He seems to know what he wants from each actors and a how to get the best out of them. I hope Dallas and the cast will put out some signed photo because I have been looking for them but, NO LUCK, as of yet. he gets the best from each and every one. So thanks again, good luck on future interviews, and I think season 3 scripts will be coming soon!

This was great listening to Jonathan acquired his education skills from seasoned professional s and made like three jumps ahead of others as these men shared their acting method s and how to work with different situations. So rapid learning in short period of time. He's a fast learner great job on that! . Like summer school season cram in coursework. Each day a week worth of learning. Learning skilled work. Awesome! Obviously shows in the Chosen art acting skills . Emotional and non verbal cues to use . That was like inside World of talking shop between actors . It was interesting. We are so blessed to have both of you superb actors on the chosen .Jonathan never disappoints me ,as his portrayal of Jesus. he’s so extremely humble, knowing he’s Christ for a small moment ,it sure comes across in film . I truly don’t think another actor could’ve done Christ in this manner. He was so human but yet spiritually connected to his craft. Love you . May all the glory go to the living God.😊

The whole cast has so much knowledge and experience. I didn’t know actors were this intelligent and well read. Where I live nepotism is the norm, and actors’ kids who dropped out of high school become actors with no qualifications.
Johnathan, in this interview you mentioned you had some bullying in younger years. All I could do is smile and think of the country singer Toby Keith's song "How Do Like Me Now"! Sorry, but I can no longer stand it when I hear anything about bullying! A year or so ago Toby Keith passed away after his struggle with cancer. RIP Toby. ❤❤ Johnathan, I so admire and respect you! Love you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wow, that was fun, fun, and fun, Mr. George, thanks for the great interview with Johnathan, and sharing both of your background information. As for Jonathan, who can not love the man who is playing Jesus. You got him to share some of his early work stories, and his "grow" jobs before he got to the Chosen. Thanks you so much for the great stuff you do not normally hear on. I am sure you hear enough of praise for you Chosen work but it seem that Dallas has the "master" touch with the actors. I have never scene a cast where almost every actors is way above average in the ability. Jonathan, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Yourself, Erick, and a few other are just fantastic in their acting. I hope they do not get famous and end up leaving the series because of other offers. I have watch a few "behind the scenes" on Directing with Dallas, and he is wonderful at his job. He seems to know what he wants from each actors and a how to get the best out of them. I hope Dallas and the cast will put out some signed photo because I have been looking for them but, NO LUCK, as of yet. he gets the best from each and every one. So thanks again, good luck on future interviews, and I think season 3 scripts will be coming soon!
Yes I remember seeing that show episode with Russell Brand and you Jonathan it was a funny scene I was surprised because you and Russell Brand looked almost like each other . I said to myself who's that guy? As I knew Russell Brand from his late night show as guest for different late night shows . He was very funny guy . With his English accent . I was glad to see that episode that you and him were on it was very funny and good entertainment . It made me laugh alot . It's amazing how God works mysteriously ! Because I wondered who you were? And now I know it was you . And Now your Jesus Christ on The Chosen , so God answered my question who you were! To me that's a mini miracle of faith for me. Thank so awesome .
