What an amazing trip! I appreciate how thoughtful you are dude. You collaborate, you make sure to use the right names for the people you work with and the spaces you work in and travel to, you make sure to protect the land you are so in love with. You take an ownership of your infatuations, Rather than claiming ownership of that which infatuates you. Keep up the good work mate, thank you for sharing this journey with us all!
living in England, we are well used to rain over here. so we set up & use a Gazebo if we need to do anything outdoors & are unsure of the rain. you can get them in all sorts of shapes and sizes, some with all 4 walls, some with only a certain number of walls, 1, 2, 3 and of course some with only the roof. When I saw you struggling with the Edoras on Edoras build, I thought "What he needs is a Gazebo" and now I see you struggling again I thought I would mention it. you can get them to fit on a roof rack and some even fold out of roof boxes on your car, making setting them up a breeze. Sorry if you have already dismissed this for some reason or law. But I thought I would mention it, keep up the fantastic work!
I don't know how available it would be in NZ, but it would save you some fund tackling mountains of plastic. Tamiya Extra Thin is my preferred plastic cement, but I only buy one bottle then buy the much much cheaper Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner. Chemically, the two are almost identical, which can be verified on their respective material safety data sheets. Extra Thin is 50% Acetone and 50% butyl acetate while the airbrush cleaner is 51% Acetone and 49% butyl acetate. So I recommend picking up a bottle or two of Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner if you can find it, and using that as your plastic cement and save a lot of coins.
@@Zorpazorp its far better than the Revell Contacta you are currently using (which itself is already far better than GW plastic glue), but with such big projects you might find the Contacta to still be useful for big long joins. The Tamiya is in a league of its own for smaller jobs (like building 40k minis, attaching smaller pieces, ect), but evaporates quite fast, so probably wouldn't be suitable for all terrain work.
@@AshleyBlackwater I've built a bunch of terrain with Extra Thin. Hold the pieces together and run a brush full along the seam. If you are using the airbrush cleaner, you can use a paintbrush to apply it over long contact joins.
That's insane dude! You're really inspiring me to get back into LOTR and building some terrain bits for it, although I'm not sure if I should be thanking you, my wallet certainly isn't
17:35 it is weird for me to be watching Zorpa Zorp while the intro music from the Renegade Cut youtube channel plays in the background (Basement Jaxx - The Ends) These new kits look amazing; almost as good as the background.
I had to google New Zealand lakes to just.....double check what you said, because I dropped my paintbrush when I thought you said...what I thought you said 😅 It looks like the post move chaos has died down and settled to just a logistical nightmare, no matter how much planning and forward planning you put into it you're going to spend the next X months finding something you desperately need is 2,500ish miles away! 🤦♂😂 All the best with the new home, and all the adventures that will bring!
