I bought a ton of components a few years ago to build PC managed controllers and programmers via a different route. The programming of the IC, or the construction of the programmer failed and I've never had chance to go back since. I always wondered why it was so complex.
This is absolutely amazing. Your work is outstanding. When I finally get back in the saddle this looks like the route I'll be taking. Thanks so much.

Gregg, HO and N scale layouts were both in my past while the family was growing. Now that I'm retired time has given me a chance to revisit some of those things I enjoyed in the past. Been playing with Arduino for the past 5 years or so but hadn't seen your DCC++ project until now. I'm impressed and overwhelmed at the amount of work you put into this. Think it might be time to build up another layout..:)

I find this quite interesting and am new to DCC so as I learn and watch the remainder of your series I will formulate my questions. I applaud you for your work in this area.
Thank you for sharing your work; it's amazing

Videos are very informative, Thanks! I'm just getting into DCC++ and arduino and may rpi. Just how do you get the layout diagram onto the computer?

Great video and UI Gregg, I am considering using you DCCpp_Controller for a DCC++ system but (obviously) need to change the layout to match my own system layout.
I have currently designed the layout using SCARM on windows 7 and would like help in moving this to your interface. I am a retired programmer but not that familiar with programming graphics. Have downloaded your interface demo and have it running under the processing IDE without any problems, using the emulator, but I see the graphics code (in dTracks) is all hard coded. Any suggestions as to how to get this data from scarm? I have exported the layout from scarm as a windows .emf (enhanced metafile) and would appreciate any advice on getting this data into DCCpp_Controller.

Hi, how do you connect multiple sensor inputs without sacrificing every Arduino input per sensor input?

Hi Gregg, is the setup you made here available as a demo in JMRI? If so, how do I access it?

Thanks Gregg , for the effort in videos and stuff. This is great. I was searching a long time for these arduino explainings , But i also realize it's a huge job to do this as nice you did. I want to mix dc-duino & little bit of dcc-duino and also signals , ir-blocks , servo's etc.
so more like automated DC-trains with some dcc . I can't wait to try out the sketches you made. Thanks again for sharing

How do you even install the controller? There is no info how anywhere. Also when I try to connect the track power to the uno, the computer wont turn the power on

Is it possible to configure the rails circuit (in yellow) without being connected to the HO control unit? (before starting its construction) With only DCC controller1.1.0 configured on the PC. My test, in this configuration, does not allow it, nor does it activate the green power switch and the speed slider.
Only a few buttons respond. Thank you

Hi Gregg. Thanks for these videos! it is great that DCC can be available for low cost. I managed to install the software on the Arduino Mega+Driver. I can'find the user interface you are showing in the videos. Is it Windows or Raspberry Pi based? What am i doing wrong?

Hi Iara, The software is on the same github (github.com/DccPlusPlus/Controller). You need to install Processing (www.processing.org/). It runs under Windows/Linux/MacOSX/Java. I'm (trying) to build this track myself, also under Arduino DCC++ control, but I'm waiting for a boat from China to arrive :-)

    Hello,
    I love this!
It's almost exactly what I've been trying to do with my small n scale kayo layout. You say this is open source, but i cant find any more to this series. I have lots of ideas for ARDUINO; signals, turnouts, and detectors, But no way to send sensor data from multiple arduinos to my PC. I find nmranet / OpenLCB too expensive for many arduinos. DCC is great for stationary decoders, but how to send sensor data back to the PC.
I'm Joe. 69yr old. live in Portland OR. been playing with trains for 60 yr.

Joe, thanks for the comment - you are the first one! I have not finished producing all of the videos that show how to program the Arduino, connect to the tracks, and download a copy of the interface. I've been working on this for about 5 years and the code is quite solid at this point. I developed it using only open-source tools and my intention is to provide all of the code back to the model railroad community for anyone to freely use, modify, distribute, etc. as they desire. Please check this space over the upcoming weeks for more videos and, eventually, links to the code itself.

    Hi DCC++
I am not new to DCC or Control Systems. I must complement you because:
Your work is excellent both the system and the videos.
It is very obvious that a lot of work has gone into it. I am really looking forward to the next videos.
Do you have a website for the system?
A couple of block diagrams would be nice.
Do you have any plans for external, hardware, throttles?
    Bye for now,
    Godders

Hi Godfrey, thanks very much for the kind words! Though I have not yet created a separate web site, all of the software has been loaded on to GitHub and is regularly updated (see the links on the "About" page for this channel). Also, there is a very detailed and robust discussion group for DCC++ on TrainBoard.com -- lots of great ideas and expansions to the system.
I recently noticed that GitHub has functionality and available storage tied to each software repository for hosting an embedded web site. I will likely use this in the near future to bring together documents, software, and links back to this channel all under one umbrella.

DCC++ Hi Gregg, (I got your name from the Trainboard)
Thanks for you response. I have just had a very quick scan onTrainboard at your project and it looks like it will stop me getting bored at Christmas, and a lot longer. Before I forget merrry Christmas to you and yours, will probably contact you after I have read the Trainboard stuff, it does look interesting.
      cheers
