    Very professional and instructive tutorial. After studying and practicing everything I know technically in photography for many years, I got tired of my photos. Recently I have been looking for new ways to approach my photography and have been looking into fine art photography. This is certainly one way I will be trying. Thank you for taking the time to present this.

    Hi Murray, excellent explanation of ICM. It's good to change and photograph with more freedom and creativity. ICM allows us to take photos anywhere. Thank you for teaching us this technique. Big hug, here from Brazil.

    Great demo. Pedantic point: the root of the word photography is derived from Greek, not Latin. 😉

    • @MurrayLivingston
      @MurrayLivingston 10 місяців тому +1

      Hi Mark, thanks for the comment. It's not super critical as the images will likely be "blurry" anyway. Sometimes the stabilisation can help with getting smooth panning images though so I tend to just leave it on. Cheers :)

    Very nice vid. Incredible images.. Can I ask how you focus throught the ND filters? Or do you just leave the lens at infinity? Thanks

    • @MurrayLivingston
      @MurrayLivingston 10 місяців тому +2

      Thanks! Most of the time, I can achieve focus through my ND filters (even using a 10 stop), but 99% of the time I use a ND64 so it's not too dark to focus. Otherwise I will focus before I put the ND on and use a small enough aperture to ensure any depth of field needed is achieved. However, as often everything is blurred/moving with ICM, critical focus isn't super important. Hope that helps :)

    Hi thx for the video and advice but for someone who are just starting with icm and that’s on a tight budget which filter would you recommend as first filter. Is it polarizing or ND and would it be for example Nisi VN 1-5 and 5-9 or just a fixed 3, 6, 10 stop. Thx

    • @MurrayLivingston
      @MurrayLivingston 10 місяців тому +1

      Cheers Douglas! Sorry for the late reply. I would recommend a fixed ND. My most used is probably a 6 stop or ND64. There are many good brands out there and I would encourage you to do some research to make sure you get filters that don't cause any colour casts (provided you make colour images!).

    • @douglascarrphotography
      @douglascarrphotography 10 місяців тому

      @@MurrayLivingston hi yeah a bit late 😂 but it’s ok I’ve gone with the Nisi 1-5 + 4 stop and so far mostly use the 1-5 VND

    • @MurrayLivingston
      @MurrayLivingston 10 місяців тому

      @@douglascarrphotography Haha yeah, I don't get notified as it's via the Picfair account not my own. ICM is pretty forgiving so I hope you've had some success!
