As a TX operator, I laughed heartily in recognition at the cock-up at the end. Automation means there's not nearly as many opportunities for that sort of mistake nowadays!
This is from Saturday 13th November 1982. The soundtrack of 'Nicholas Nickleby' was simultaneously broadcast in stereo by Capital Radio. For the record, the first stereo simulcast to go to the whole of ILR was also with C4 - Queen's 'Real Magic' in October 1986. On Capital, this would have replaced or shortened David Rodigan and Froggy's shows, for which I would not forgive a band easily, and certainly not the Sun City boys.
Thankyou its nice seeing Olga Hubicka I have wondered what she looked like ever since hearing her beautiful sexy soothing voice on channel 4 I wish they would bring her back she is lovely
+transdiffusion Watched plenty of Channel 4 in the earliest days, and I don't recall any IVC outside of closedown; excluding the Preview 4/Look Forward strand. Does any of it survive online?
Dave Rhodes Other than at closedown and the Preview 4 programme, all continuity on Channel 4 was out-of-vision - S4C - its Welsh equivalent - did have some in-vision announcements - they even employed announcers who spoke both English and Welsh!

Very common in their first few weeks, confined to off-peak after about a month, then slowly disappeared entirely during 1983.
I wonder when the last one was.
The background here looks similar to the background in the Countdown studio.
@transdiffusion Despite the cock up at the end this another very good early Channel Four upload.
She is BRILLIANT

Olga Rubik’s Cube, I used to call her! Used to read the news on IRN!

The operator failed big time in the closing down.
@transdiffusion I don't remember C4 having in-vision continuity - how long did that last?
Until December 30 1983
So basically, they screwed it all up!
